Yu Dafu Novel Award is a domestic literary award for the creation of Chinese short and medium novels at home and abroad, and is selected every two years. Starting from this year, the Yu Dafu Novel Awards have been updated to the first prize of the Yu Dafu Novel Award (1 person) and the first prize of the short story award (1 person), the Novel Lai Award and the Short Story Award (3 persons each).
This year's Yu Dafu Novel Award launched a collection of works in April this year. Through various recommendations, a large number of participating works have been gathered. The awards office then determined 30 novellas and 32 short stories to be shortlisted based on the recommendation intention, and then the review committee voted in real name and selected 15 novellas and short stories as the final selection works. These works basically bring together the best Chinese short and medium novels from 2020 to 2021.
The final judge of this year is still composed of famous writers, scholars and editors of important literary journals. According to the voting method, each final judge must vote on the selected works of the final evaluation in real name. Among them, the winning works of the first prize of the middle and short story prize must be approved by 2/3 of the total number of votes of the final judges, while the middle and short story prizes must be recognized by more than 1/2 of the total number of votes of the final judges (inclusive). Subsequently, under the witness of national media, a real-name voting election was launched.
In the first prize of the novella award, Shao Li's "Yellow River Story" won and won the first prize of the novella award. Later, in the voting for the novella award, Huang Liyu's "The Lion Maker", Li Hongwei's "The Lunar Hermit", and Luo Weizhang's "Mirror City" won the award with more than half of the votes.

It is reported that the Yu Dafu Novel Award Ceremony will be held on December 7th - Yu Dafu's birthday in his hometown Fuyang .
