Prague Zoo said that the female pangolin who lived with the male pangolin "Fruit Treasure" in April this year was confirmed to be pregnant by ultrasonic examination, and the expected delivery date is mid-December to mid-January next year.
Prague Zoo Chief Miroslav Bobek said that pangolin pregnancy is a great encouragement for the garden. If the delivery is successful, it will be the first pangolin baby born in Europe. "It would be a great Christmas gift."
The throat candy and fruit treasure borrowed by Taipei City Zoo in China was opened to visit in mid-May after quarantine. The park first raised the two separately and let them get together one month later. Unexpectedly, the two immediately mated.
Garden also designed a special stent to facilitate nurserymen to perform ultrasonic examinations and blood collection when eating throat lozenges. They were not pregnant when they were first tested in August, and the recent examination was finally confirmed to be pregnant.
