Xia Junyi pointed out that Yiting underwent left abdominal tumor resection in August of the previous year and was diagnosed with Castman disease. After that, she developed respiratory failure, so she was intubated with a respirator and completed a tracheotomy.
Later, Yiting was preparing to undergo a lung transplant and was transferred to the hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen Medical University in Taiwan to wait, and was lucky enough to receive organ donation.
Xia Junyi said that although lung transplantation is difficult, the more difficult thing is to find the source of the organ. Generally, 8-9 donations for every 10 heart, liver, etc. are available, but because the lungs are susceptible to infection, only 1 of 10 donations is available, which also makes transplants even more difficult.
Yiting was reborn after 10 hours of surgery. After careful care by the medical team, she was finally discharged from the hospital on August 27 this year, from controlling infection, removing respirators, removing breathing tubes, actively recovering and training to being able to get out of bed. The medical staff also specially prepared a cake for her to celebrate her rebirth.
