1961, 2021. The wheels of history roll forward.
On September 1, 1961, the Third Branch of the Fifth Academy of the Ministry of National Defense was officially established and officially became the Navigation Missile Research Institute. A group of revolutionary soldiers selected from the army, military academies, colleges and universities, and military factories came to Yungang from all over the motherland, playing the prelude to the exploration, progress, struggle and development of aerospace people on this mysterious land. "Even if you are hungry and fight for your life, you have to get the missile out!" This is the common voice of the first generation of the Third Hospital people when the founding of the Academy. At the beginning of the business, it happened to be a three-year natural disaster in the country. During the development of the first shore missile "Sea Eagle 2", the deterioration of Sino-Soviet relations, the assistance experts were withdrawn, and the drawings and materials were taken away. The hard living and working conditions and the strict technical blockade not only did not make everyone retreat, but instead stimulated their high work enthusiasm. Soon, Liang Shoupan, the then chief designer, was inspired by the structure of the basketball and overcome the key technical bottleneck of the corrosion resistance of engine fuel tank materials in one fell swoop. The success of "Haiying 2" made Marshal Nie Rongzhen, then vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, excited: "The People's Navy finally has its own missile weapons designed and manufactured!"
In the Third Academy, "Haiying 2" was called the "Striving Bomb". It aims to start a business in the Third Academy, the Navy's strength and the Chinese nation, and is determined to get rid of the "foreign crutches" and break out a path of independent missile development.

In October 1973, a group of scientific researchers from the Third Hospital conducted an experiment in the desert in the northwest corner of the Third Hospital. They buried the head of the missile's engine in the ground and conducted an ignition test with their ignition. Everyone stood on the ditch cliff a hundred meters away, staring nervously at the ignition. The experiment was successful. As soon as the burning flames went out, members of the experimental team ran over to measure the engine surface temperature, completely ignoring the toxic smoke. At that time, the missile was not officially launched. It was small in size and was a "black household", so it was affectionately called "Xiao Erhei" by researchers.

In 1984, when it appeared at the military parade for the 35th anniversary of the National Day, foreign guests exclaimed that it was "Chinese Flying Fish". "Chinese Flying Fish" is a method of "brick-in pot making picnics" that is used to conduct high-tech combustion and obtain test verification. It is under such primitive and simple conditions that scientific researchers have overcome many difficulties and written in practice to strengthen the military and serve the country through science and technology.

1991, the Gulf War broke out. The "Tomahawk" cruise missile made its first appearance, rushing thousands of miles and hitting precisely, shocking the world for a while. "We must also have our own cruise missile!" The central government made a firm statement. Immediately, a "national team" dominated by the Third Hospital quietly assembled, and the gate to develop a cruise missile was opened urgently. Academician Liu Yongcai, the chief engineer of the model, had a famous catchphrase, "Do it alive, and die." Despite experiencing difficulties, failures, and doubts, they still worked day and night until they created many of the best in the history of China's missile weapons development at that time. On October 1, 2009, China's cruise missile convoy solemnly sailed across Tiananmen Square and announced to the world that China has become a country that has developed its own cruise missiles after the United States and Russia. Through the clouds and mists of history, the Tiananmen Gate Tower, which has been standing for 600 years, has witnessed the humiliating scenes of the great powers showing their powers and stepping onto the Jinshui Bridge and passing through the door. The same ten-mile long street ushered in a prosperous scene after the founding of New China.
