November 8, Kunming Daguan Park released a message: Registration will be held today for the first International Waterscape Design Competition in 2019 - "Daguanlou Cup", and the registration deadline will be December 10, 2019.
It is understood that Kunming is a national historical and cultural city and was awarded the title of "International Garden City" last year. The Daguan Building in Daguan Park is one of the six famous historical and cultural buildings in China. In 2013, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. The long couplet of famous scholars in the Qing Dynasty is known as the "No. 1 long couplet in the world". Daguan Park is also one of the six major lotus viewing bases in Yunnan. It has held the Lotus Festival for 14 consecutive years and successfully held the 31st National Lotus Exhibition in 2017.
Park covers a total area of 55.22 hectares. The competition is themed "Health and Water View" and takes 26.58 hectares of water views in the south area as the main body. It can take into account the improvement of pedestrian, vehicle and traffic and historical style of the park in the Daguan Building area to the north. It is required that the participating works should pay attention to the demands of Kunming to build an ecological civilization and healthy living destination. Combined with the historical and cultural heritage of the Dianchi Lake basin, especially the Daguan Park, the landscape and ecological environment of the entire park are protected, improved and transformed to create an ecological, cultural and pleasant Daguan Park.
This competition is divided into student groups and professional groups. The participants are undergraduate, master and doctoral students in domestic and foreign landscape gardens, gardens, urban and rural planning, architecture , environmental design and other related majors, as well as domestic and foreign landscape gardens, urban and rural planning, architecture, environmental art and other related design institutions, design institutes, research institutes, free designers, artists and teachers from various universities. After registration, we will organize a concentrated survey and answer questions on site in the project location, Daguan Park, Kunming City, from November 14 to 15, and the results will be submitted until December 19.
This competition consists of 10 experts including Vice President Li Xiong of , Professor Li Xiong of Beijing Forestry University, Professor Liu Binyi of Tongji University, and Liu Binyi of , respectively, as the group leader, deputy group leader and vice president of the International Waterscape Association, Professor Zhu Yufan of Tsinghua University, Du Chunlan of Chongqing University, and Professor Chen Longqing of , Southwest Forestry University, and other awards of 10 experts will be awarded from the entries, including gold medals, silver medals, bronze medals, excellent awards, excellent instructor awards, excellent organization units, and most popular awards, including 2 gold medals in the student group, with each group being awarded 30,000 yuan. An award ceremony was held at Southwest Forestry University from December 27 to 29, announcing the final evaluation results and awards were presented.
This event is hosted by Southwest Forestry University, International Water Lily and Waterscape Society, Education Working Committee of the Chinese Landscape Society, " China Garden " magazine, and the Lotus Branch of the China Flower Association, and hosted by Kunming Daguan Park and the School of Gardening and Horticulture of Southwest Forestry University.
