Wuhan University traces the origin of the Ziqiang Academy founded by Zhang Zhidong, the governor of Huguang in the late Qing Dynasty, in 1893. Sunshan University originated from the National Guangdong University founded by Mr. Sun Yat-sen in 1924. On August 17, 1926, it was renamed National Sun Yat-sen University. Yunnan University was founded in 1922 and was a private Donglu University. It was renamed the Provincial Yunnan University in 1934 and was changed to the National Yunnan University in 1938. Sozhou University was founded in 1900. It was the first university in China to be organized with a modern university discipline system. It was the first university in China to carry out professional education in law (UK and American law), the first graduate education, and the award of a master's degree. It is also the first university to establish a journal in China. Zhejiang University Zhijiang Campus
Zhejiang University Zhijiang Campus is located on the beautiful Qiantang River and the Yuelun Mountains beside the Liuhe Tower. It was the location of Zhijiang University before liberation. It was a church university jointly founded by the Christian North American Presbyterian Church and the South American Presbyterian Church in Hangzhou, China. It is also one of the thirteen Christian universities in China. It was formerly the Chongxin School founded in Ningbo in 1845 (the 25th year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty). In 1867 (the 6th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty), Chongxin School moved from Ningbo to Hangzhou. It was renamed Yuying School in 1887 and officially called "Yuying Academy" in 1897. College, a new school building was built in Yuelun Mountain in 1907, and was officially moved into the new school building in February 1911. Because it is located at the bend of Qiantang River, it is in the shape of a "zhi", so it was changed to Zhijiang Academy.
