New energy vehicles exemption vehicle purchase tax policy will be implemented until the end of next year
The reporter learned from the Ministry of Finance on the 26th that in order to support the development of the new energy vehicle industry, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently jointly issued an announcement that clearly stated that the policy of exempting vehicle purchase tax for new energy vehicles that expired at the end of this year will continue to be implemented until the end of next year.
announcement clearly states that vehicle purchase tax is exempt from new energy vehicles with purchase dates from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. The purchase date is determined according to the issuance date of valid vouchers such as a unified motor vehicle sales invoice or a special payment form for customs duties.
Since the implementation of the policy of exempting vehicle purchase tax for new energy vehicles, it has effectively stimulated the consumption potential of new energy vehicles. The State Administration of Taxation previously released data showing that from January to July this year, new energy vehicles were exempted from vehicle purchase tax of 40.68 billion yuan, an increase of 108.5% year-on-year. Among them, 7.17 billion yuan was exempted from vehicle purchase tax in July, an increase of 119.1% year-on-year.
