Cleveland Guardians is a professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. They are currently affiliated with the Central District of Major League Baseball. They have been home with Jack Booth Stadium since 1994.
This team is one of the eight founding teams of the United Nations and was founded in Cleveland in 1901. It was called at the time, and the league stadium was the home court. In 1915, the team publicly selected the new team name, while Volkswagen chose the name Indians by referring to the name of the Boston Warriors (now Atlanta Warriors ). The team was renamed Cleveland Indians (Cleveland Indians), the alias were "the Tribe" and "Chief Wahoo". The latter refers to Chief Waho, the mascot on the team's logo. Moved to the historic Cleveland Stadium in 1932. In November 2021, the team changed its name from "Indians" to "Guardians" to eliminate years of racial discrimination disputes.
