Wanfang High School students were surprised to find on the first day of school that the new Chinese textbook they had was actually a textbook jointly compiled and published by the cross-strait. 's new textbook is not only vivid and detailed, but also sets up an "editor-in-chief interpretation" for each text, writing content that students find difficult to understand into stories that are easy to teach, helping young students better understand the essence of Chinese culture and the infinite charm of Chinese language.
Since June 2014, in order to promote the project of co-edited textbooks, the three collaborative units of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait have organized 14 university professors and famous middle schools to form an editorial board, and the professors of the School of Literature of Fujian Normal University, Sun Shaozhen , and Sun Jianqiu, professor of the Department of Chinese and Creation of Taipei University, served as editors respectively to promote the co-editing matters. Over the past three years, experts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait have reviewed and studied a large amount of information, visited dozens of universities and middle schools on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and successively completed the writing tasks of "High Chinese Language" (including textbooks, teacher manuals, and teacher books), "Basic Textbooks of Chinese Culture", "Selected Reading of Ancient Poetry and Essays on High Schools", etc., a total of 13 volumes and 5 million words of textbooks.

Compared with previous textbooks, the textbooks compiled and published this time highlight the excellent traditional Chinese culture and selected a large number of famous works in ancient and modern times, such as "Talk of Teachers" and "Yueyang Tower Inscriptions". In addition, the selections of "The Analects of Confucius" and "Mencius", the selections of "Hanxiong of Confucius", the selections of "Hanxiong of the Book of Songs" , the selections of "Hanxiong of the Book of Songs" and other vernacular texts, including "Kong Yiji" and "Farewell to Kangqiao".
The cross-strait co-edited textbook team will hold five textbook teaching exchange seminars in relevant schools in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and other places within the next few days to listen to feedback from relevant Taiwanese experts and front-line teachers.
