has been established for 69 years. Tamkang University has more than 250,000 graduates, among them, a large number of outstanding alumni have even played an important role in cross-strait civil and economic and trade exchanges.
"Now there are many alumni who are developing in the mainland, and there is a trend of becoming younger. As young students who have just left the school gate, they go to the mainland with vast land, rich materials and different customs alone. It is really difficult to adapt, understand, and integrate into it. If you have the guidance of seniors, it will definitely reduce the risk of taking detours." Zhuang Wenfu, chairman of Wande International Group and president of the Mainland Alumni Association of Tamkang University, told The Paper (www.thepaper.cn).
As a well-known Taiwanese businessman developing in the mainland, Zhuang Wenfu is full of gratitude to Tamkang University.
"In the past, my family was poor. When I was in college, I relied on the scholarships and living expenses given to me every semester, so I could finish my university smoothly, so I remember my source of knowledge." Zhuang Wenfu said that he would provide corresponding research equipment and scholarships for the academic construction of Tamkang University every year.
In 2003, Zhuang Wenfu and many alumni who are doing business in Shanghai initiated the establishment of the "Tankang University Mainland Alumni Association". After 16 years of continuous growth, it now has six alumni associations: East China, South China , North China, Macao, Central China and the Straits, with more than 1,500 alumni members.
"We may be the largest alumni association of Taiwanese colleges and universities in the mainland." Zhuang Wenfu said.
In recent years, he has been promoting the establishment and growth of Tamkang University Mainland Alumni Association. Based on emotional communication, the alumni association allows alumni to form a mechanism for learning and helping each other from the perspectives of entrepreneurship, employment and life through continuous friendship activities.
"This time we set the event location in Xiamen and Kinmen , and there is a travel itinerary, which also highlights the feeling of exchange between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait." Zhuang Wenfu said.
