Yang is a volunteer who helped Americans evacuate Afghanistan. He told the "Russia Today " website that on August 30, the Taliban members sent a mother with three children and another 45 American citizens to the entrance of Kabul Airport. At that time, three civil aviation planes paid by volunteers were waiting for the Americans at the airport.
"We still have time to board the plane, but the US military did not allow these American citizens to enter the airport," said Yang. "The media was also driven out of the airport, so no one could record what happened in the airport."
Yang also said that the Taliban special forces "Badri 311" who guarded the airport said on the same day that if the US military came to pick up these American citizens, they would give the greatest help, but the US military did not. Yang also tried to call all members of the US armed forces who could be contacted that day, asking them to open the airport gate and let the Americans board the plane, "But the military just won't let them in."
Yang also shared his chat history with a US Army colonel who knew about the US military's evacuation process but did not disclose his name. The colonel said in the chat, "That's right, we are abandoning American citizens." Yang later wrote a letter to a US military commander at the airport in anger, pointing out that they had abandoned the Americans.
