Please study the following figure carefully: We use UN resolution 2181 in 1947 as the dividing line. Before 1947, Israel (a country established by the Jews) only opened up land and reproduction in about 6% and a small part of the region. Palestine (a country established by the Arabs) occupy a large part of the territory.
After 1947, how did Israel's territory expand? Let us walk into the Middle East where the smoke of war is still permeated.
1. United Nations Resolution 181:
In 1947, the United Nations passed Resolution 181, dividing Palestine into two. Israel receives 57% of the land and Palestine receives 43% of the land.
is controversial because the resolution is suspected of favoring Jews. Most of the land that Israel gets fertile coastal land. The territory obtained by Arab countries is mostly fragmented and disconnected, and most of it is hilly and barren. After the UN General Assembly announced the passage of the Palestine division case, representatives from six Arab Leagues, including Egypt, , , collectively withdrew from the venue, expressed protests, and refused to recognize UN General Assembly resolution 181.
The Israeli-Palestinian war is about to break out. In order to write the Israeli-Palestinian conflict , I explained in detail the suffering history of the Jews and the difficult road to restoration in the first two articles. I hope to take a look so that I can better understand this article.
2. Conflict begins:
Israel announces its founding less than 24 hours, that is, on May 14, 1948, the surrounding Arab countries united and launched a war against Israel. There were five large-scale wars. In recent years, conflicts have arisen again.
I sympathize with the suffering of Israel in the past and feel cowardly in the current Arab countries. Arab countries are not as strong as Israel, and there are many contradictions between countries and are disinterested in their abilities. As a result, they were defeated repeatedly, and they lost every battle, and their territory became smaller and smaller. When they were divided in 1947, the territory area of the Palestinian State was 11,500 square kilometers. Until now, the Palestinian State has only 2,500 square kilometers left.
Middle East Region
conflict not only occurs in both countries. Israel has conflicts with its nearby Arab countries, so it is also called Arab-Israeli War . In addition, the Near East, Middle East and Far East have been divided according to the distance from Europe. Now, the geographical location of this division is very vague. However, politically, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is also called the Middle East War.
2. The First Middle East War (1948-1949):
Countries in the Middle East
Israel is called the War of Independence. On May 4, 1948, Israel announced its founding. In the early morning of the next day, Arab countries such as Syria, Iraq, , Egypt, Lebanon, and Transjordan sent troops to attack Israel.
Israel won and occupied a large tract of land allocated to Palestine by the United Nations. The Israeli territory score expanded by 62 million square kilometers during the governance period. 960,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes and became refugees.
4. The Second Middle East War (1956-1957):
This time it was Israel that provoked the war first.
Suez Canal is an important transportation route in Egypt and connecting Europe, Asia and Africa. Geography and strategic location are very important. But it has been controlled by Britain and France since its completion.
Second Middle East War Map
In 1956, Egypt announced the nationalization of the Suez Canal. Britain and France decided to retake it by force, hit it off with Israel, and the three countries jointly invaded Egypt. But the three countries were widely condemned by the international community. Under strong international pressure, the Second Middle East War ceasefire.
The result of the war was: Britain, France and Israel won military victory, but Egypt received public support, won political victory, and regained all sovereignty of the Suez Canal.
5. The Third Middle East War (1967, 6, 5-10):
The Israeli state is called the "Six-Day War", which can be regarded as a classic in the history of war.
The cause is that Egypt blocked Israel's important seaport - the Tiran Strait. This made Israel determined to go to war with the Arab countries.
In the early morning of June 5, 1967, Israel took the lead and launched a lightning attack on Egypt, Syria and Jordan. On the 10th, the war ended.Israel defeated the Arab countries by an overwhelming margin.
The war has serious consequences, and Israel occupied a total of 65,000 square kilometers of land, including the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. Hundreds of thousands of Arab civilians were driven out of their homes and turned into refugees. It has become the root cause of the situation in the Middle East so far.
VI. The Fourth Middle East War (1973, 10, 6-26):
cause Egypt and Syria want to reclaim the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights occupied by Israel six years ago. The result is: the Arab countries reversed the situation of successive defeats, but failed to completely defeat Israel.
Egypt recovered part of the Sinai Peninsula, and Syria recovered part of the Golan Heights. Israel still occupies most of the land.
7. Camp David Agreement:
Egypt feels discouraged by the regaining of lost ground by force. In 1977, Egyptian President Sadat made an unprecedented move - becoming the first Arab leader to visit Israel (equivalent to recognizing Israel).
On September 9, 1979, US President Carter invited Israeli President Begin and Egyptian President Sadat to hold a 12-day meeting at Camp David, the US President's retreat, and signed the Camp David Agreement. It stipulates that Israel withdraws from the Sinai Peninsula in exchange for peace with Egypt.
Azerbia and Israel began to shift from confrontation to dialogue, which effectively promoted the peace process in the Middle East. However, this aroused dissatisfaction and opposition from most Arab countries, and Egypt was expelled by the League of Arab States (Arab League).
8. The Fifth Middle East War: (June-September 1982)
The cause was that the Israeli ambassador to Britain was assassinated by Palestinian armed forces.
Israel occupied half of Lebanon in just a few days. During the war, the Israel-backed Lebanese Christian Spike Party militia group slaughtered by Israeli-backed Lebanese refugee camps in Beirut.
9. Beirut Massacre:
At 4:10 pm on September 14, 1982, an important meeting was held in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Suddenly, with a loud "boom", a pre-placed 200-kilogram bomb exploded. Suddenly, the conference room was filled with smoke and flesh and blood, and the young Lebanese president-elect was blown to death.
16 at 6 pm, a gangster wearing a black mask and dressed in disguise entered the streets and alleys of Beirut with the instructions and cooperation of the Israeli army, searched each household and killed everyone as soon as they saw it. The massacre lasted for 40 hours. By the morning of the 18th, the Israeli army that had just entered the refugee camp could not find anyone to kill. I won't put pictures, it's too cruel.
Former Israeli Defense Minister Sharon was considered personally responsible for this incident. Salon is a controversial task at home and abroad and is a representative of the Israeli hardliners. Oppose the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. With rich war experience and superhuman adventure, he is known as "Barton of Israel". Later, the salon became Israeli Prime Minister , which has always been unacceptable to the Palestinians.
10. To be continued:
The conflict between Palestinian and Israel is intensifying. We find that the Jews are no longer the weak people who were bullied and sympathetic to them back then. After they became stronger, they embarked on the old path of oppressing foreign tribes. If human beings fall into the point of "people are the pedestal and I are the pedestal", their destiny is not as good as "fish". There are many conflicts next, such as: the tug-of-war over Jerusalem , the turmoil in the Gaza region, etc. If you are interested, please continue to pay attention.
