This year marks the 39th anniversary of the national voluntary tree planting campaign in my country. Recently, the spring is shining and the spring rain has moistened, making the city of Longyan renewal and the spring is stronger, and the vitality is leaping onto the branches.
The tree planting point on that day was located on the north side of Longyan exit of Fucai Village Expressway, Caoxi Street, Xinluo District, and is of great significance to beautifying important traffic contacts and enhancing the urban landscape. When the city leaders came to the tree planting site, they immediately devoted themselves to the tree planting activities, digging holes with shovels, straightening the seedlings, compacting the rammed earth, lifting buckets and watering... Each process was meticulously done. At the scene, the cadres, the masses and troops who participated in the voluntary tree planting activities divided the labor and worked together to plant seedlings such as wood lotus, banyan trees, maple fragrance, yellow flower wind chimes, etc., contributing to the city's greening and color.
It is understood that in 2020, our city’s annual afforestation task was 116,000 mu, an increase of 20.9% over the previous year. Our city will adhere to the principle of "grasping both hands and not missing out" in epidemic prevention and control and greening and beautification, and carry out voluntary tree planting activities in depth to ensure that the annual afforestation task is completed before the end of March.

Longyan is an important birthplace of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought and a pioneer area for practicing this important idea. Under the personal care and promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping, the people of Longyan have created the "Changting Experience" in soil erosion control and the "Wuping Experience" in collective forest rights system reform, and have achieved remarkable results in promoting the construction of ecological civilization. It is time for the spring breeze to call green in March again. We must take active action, participate in voluntary tree planting, greening and beautifying our homes, and let the green waters and green mountains stay in western Fujian forever.
Currently, Longyan's forest coverage rate has reached 79.39%, ranking first in the province for 41 consecutive years. But we must never be self-confidence or complacent. Recently, whenever we go to a county (city, district), Li Jiancheng, secretary of the municipal party committee, will particularly emphasize that "we must implement the new development concept and protect the green waters and green mountains." When the ecology prospers, civilization prospers, and when the ecology declines, civilization declines. We must keep in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions to “win the whole way when advances, and retreat if they don’t advance", put pressure on ourselves, fight for a long time, and continue to afforest and greening on the basis of protection first, so that Longyan’s ecological environment is better and its ecological advantages are more prominent; we must always practice the concept of “green water and green mountains are gold and silver mountains”, continuously consolidate and improve the “Changting Experience” and “Wuping Experience”, integrate ecological civilization construction into various work such as industrial development, poverty alleviation, and rural revitalization, and fully promote the construction of the National Ecological Civilization Experimental Zone, and strive to embark on a green development path with Longyan characteristics, so that the people in the Soviet areas of the old district can enjoy more green benefits.
