"'River' I Together to Protect Mother River" Beach Cleaning Action
On the afternoon of April 13, the Nanchuan Youth League Committee and the Nanchuan District Western Planning Youth League Branch joined hands with the Yantang Community Youth League Branch of Xicheng Street, Nanchuan District to go to the Fengzui River tributary of Yantang Community to carry out the "'River' I Together to Protect Mother River" - the 2022 beach cleaning action. More than 20 young people from the western planning volunteers of Nanchuan District and members of Yantang Community in Xicheng Street participated in the event.
The afternoon sun baked the earth, but it did not stop the enthusiasm of "He Xiaoqing" at all. The "He Xiaoqing" wears green vests and labor protection gloves, and holds fire tongs, garbage clips and garbage bags to clean and inspect the river beaches of Fengzui River tributaries, and carefully pick up garbage and debris in the grass on the river bank.
While picking up garbage, the volunteers also publicized the importance of protecting rivers to the villagers living in Yantang Community, and called on villagers to participate in the actions of protecting rivers and protecting the ecological environment.
This beach cleaning activity lasted 4 hours, had a 5km river patrol, and accumulated 200kg of garbage. The garbage on the Fengzui River tributary of Yantang Community was significantly reduced. At the same time, the volunteers have greatly improved the villagers' awareness of civilized, sanitary and environmental protection by popularizing environmental protection to the villagers. Volunteers expressed their hope that they could encourage more people to participate in the river protection action, devote themselves to the practice of ecological and environmental protection, and use practical actions to help protect the river and protect the green waters and green mountains of Nanchuan.
