ISO 26262—Functional Safety of Road Vehicles
The popularization of automotive electronic systems requires new automotive standards to ensure safety. The ISO 26262 standard is an update to the more general IEC 61508 functional safety standard, defining the functional safety of automotive equipment, including the electronic and electrical systems of passenger cars. The
ISO 26262 standard establishes four automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL), of which ASIL D specifies the highest integrity requirements. The standard is designed to address the rapid expansion of automotive internal equipment, cables and connectors, and other technologies, especially the integration of advanced computer systems.
certification service is provided by SGS, which is a leader in ISO standards testing, verification and certification. In-depth testing processes show that the functional safety standards of the automotive industry are implemented in the development process and hardware design.
