Indonesia International News--On June 11, the Indonesian government once again relaxed the regulations on entry of foreign tourists. Now foreign tourists no longer need to attach a certificate of health insurance . According to a press release issued by the Working Group on Coronavirus Pneumonia on Wednesday, the appendix to Circular No. 19 of 2022 on foreign tourists has canceled the obligation of foreign tourists to attach proof of ownership of health insurance, including financing for COVID-19.
The press release added that the appendix to the notice will take effect from 8 June 2022, until the subsequent date and will be further evaluated as needed. This regulation is abolished to encourage the public economy through the tourism field. Wiku Adisasmito, spokesperson for the Working Group on the Treatment of COVID-19, said at a press conference that the government not only abolished the regulations on medical insurance for foreign tourists, but also implemented several loose policies at the regional level. The government is trying to improve the economic sector of the people, including relaxing the PPKM standard policy in cities, counties and districts, which are almost completely at the first level.
The tourism industry is no longer obliged to provide proof of ownership of health insurance for foreign tourists who want to visit. I call on the people to dare to play the role of national economic recovery. However, we need to consider continuing to remain vigilant and maintaining the momentum of the transition period of COVID-19 by continuing to control the epidemic.
