On August 11, Dongguan City held the 2022 Basic Militia Point Inspection Conference and the Huangjiang Women's Militia Platoon Flag Awarding Ceremony. Feng Junying took over the female militia flags from the leaders of the Dongguan Military Sub-district. After the ceremony, Feng Junying couldn't wait to take out her phone and "report" to her grandmother: "Grandma, look - the female militia flags have been passed to our young people." On the other end of the phone, her grandmother looked relieved.

Feng Junying's grandmother is Chen He, and she is an old soldier of Dongjiang Column. Feng Junying joined the army and joined the militia organization, and was deeply influenced by her grandmother.
On May 8, 1945, the Meitang battle started in Huangjiang, Dongguan, and the Dongjiang Column fought bloody battles. Chen He joined the militia armed forces and helped the guerrillas deliver supplies and transport wounded people. He was commended by the Dongjiang Column after the war. Later, Chen He joined the Dongjiang Column and became a female guerrilla. That year, she was 13 years old.
"Grandma is a brave 'little militia', so she participated in the battle when she was a child. She is the person I admire since I was a child." Grandma's story is like a red seed, sown in Feng Junying's heart. In August 2016, at the suggestion of his grandmother, Feng Junying chose to sign up for the army without hesitation. After joining the army, she was assigned to serve in a certain Marine Corps unit.
The training of the Marine Corps was very hard, but Feng Junying said "It's okay." After serving for two years, Feng Junying served as the squad leader for one year and was also named an outstanding soldier.
In June this year, the Huangjiang Women's Militia Platoon was established, and the candidate for platoon leader has not been determined. Under the recommendation of the Veterans Affairs Department, the military and local governments agreed that Feng Junying would serve as the first platoon leader. In order to facilitate work, the Huangjiang Town Armed Forces Department also recruited Feng Junying as an armed officer.
The Huangjiang Women's Militia Platoon has a great task. Yu Zhanhuan, deputy director of the armed forces department of Huangjiang Town, said that the militia platoon is not only responsible for emergency response and helping the people solve problems, but also should be a good benchmark for the transformation and construction of the city's militia team, and all constructions must catch up. At present, they have participated in epidemic prevention and control, mobile patrol and other tasks many times.
"Joining the militia organization is like 'encountering' with a young grandmother in a militia team. I will take my grandmother as an example and actively face difficulties and challenges." Feng Junying said that the female militia platoon has a broad mass base in the local area, and most of the members come from party and government organs, enterprises and institutions, and their comprehensive qualities are generally high. She is confident that she can lead the female militia platoon to complete various tasks and show the style of the female militia in the new era.
