According to current Japanese laws, teenagers under the age of 18 are not allowed to appear in adult films according to the requirements of the "Children's Erotic Movie Prohibition Law"; teenagers aged 18 to 19 can also use the "right to cancel minors" without the consent of their parents to cancel the agreement. But after April 1 this year, with the revision of Japan's Civil Law, "new adults" over the age of 18 do not need their parents' consent and can also sign contracts to star in adult films.
Some Japanese social activists believe that after the implementation of the Civil Law, young people aged 18 to 19 may be threatened and forced to shoot adult videos, so they hope to legislate to resolve the matter.
