Scan the QR code, pick up the water gun, spray the body... A self-service car washing station located in Yingbin Park, Suzhou City, Anhui Province, Citizen Tao Hui skillfully operated it and quickly washed the private car.

"Every time I pass by, I will wash the car by the way. The water here is recycled water , which is both economical and very environmentally friendly." Tao Hui said. At present, three self-service car washing stations have been built in Suzhou city, with 11 self-service machines serving citizens 24 hours a day.

Suzhou, located in northern Anhui, is one of the cities with severe water resources in the Huaihe basin. The per capita water resource volume in the city is only about 500 cubic meters. The difficulty of water shortage has caused the city to form a "circulating chain" of recycled water. Here, after the urban domestic sewage is treated into tailwater that meets the emission standards, it is not "split up" but is turned into recycled water through deep treatment, which is used for river water replenishment or municipal water such as greening, cleaning, and fire protection. The

cycle gives this water-scarce city a water-friendly scene. Behind Tao Hui, the Yingbin Park in winter also has a landscape of small bridges and flowing water. The fountain next to the small square for citizens to move around. These river water replenishment and landscape water all come from recycled water that is constantly recycled.

"Every day, the total amount of urban recycled water utilization in Suzhou is about 140,000 tons, of which 100,000 tons are used for river water replenishment, 30,000 tons are used for industrial water, and 10,000 tons are used as municipal water for the people. The utilization rate of recycled water basically reaches 100%. "Zhu Congshen, deputy director of Suzhou Garden Management Service Center, said that at present, Suzhou has built 4 recycled water pipelines with a total length of 32.4 kilometers, and the annual supply of river water is about 36 million tons.

Turning "sewage" into "live water" and promoting the utilization of recycled water. Efficient operation of recycled water plants is a key link in this "circulating chain".

Walk into the recycled water plant located in Chengnan, Suzhou City, and reservoirs about two stories high and with different functions are neatly arranged in the factory area. After the tail water treated by the sewage treatment plant flows into here, it passes through the pump room, flocculation and sedimentation tank, V-shaped filter tank, chlorination room, etc., the harmful components in the water are further decomposed and removed, filtered and disinfected, and recycled water is continuously produced.

"Our daily processing capacity is 160,000 tons. After deep treatment, the indicators of ammonia nitrogen, suspended matter in the tail water are further reduced, and can be used for industrial cooling, landscaping, road sprinklering and landscape replenishment, etc.," said Cheng Xiaoxiong, general manager of Suzhou North Drainage Environment Development Co., Ltd., which operates this regeneration water plant.

He told reporters that nowadays, Suzhou's urban recycled water can not only meet the requirements of "quantity" and "quality", but also achieve the improvement of "management" through the smart water environment big data platform.

"Through information management, we can monitor water quality online, master pipeline flow and other data, use video surveillance system to observe the situation of each water replenishment port in real time, and timely dispatch tasks to front-line employees to conduct efficient and precise management and dispatch." Cheng Xiaoxiong said, "In the future, with the acceleration of urbanization, the demand for water in cities will become increasingly greater, and recycled water will have more places to use it. This 'circulating chain' will produce greater economic, ecological and social benefits." (Reporters Ma Shurui, Wang Haiyue, Hu Rui)
