According to Taiwan media reports, Chen Ju, secretary-general of Tsai Ing-wen's office, was dissatisfied with the famous mouths Wu Zijia, Xie Hanbing, and Zhang Youhua, in a political commentary program, and raised a hindering reputation notice on her criticism of her during her term as mayor of Kaohsiung, including the light rail and Kaohsiung air explosion case. The Taipei Court held a partial trial against Wu Zijia on the 25th, and both parties expressed their intention to settle. Chen Ju's appointed lawyer said that he hoped Wu Zijia could explain to the society and then discuss reconciliation, but Wu Zijia said that he didn't know what to clarify.
Chen Ju was dissatisfied with Wu Zijia, who had been expelled from the party by Tsai Ing-wen, on a political commentary program in early January, believing that his comments seriously damaged his reputation and were systematic and organized to destroy his personal personality. She filed a personal complaint with the Taipei Court for obstructing his reputation.
North Court held its first trial, and Wu Zijia's appointed lawyer said he was willing to settle with Chen Ju. Chen Ju's appointed lawyer emphasized that the whole matter does not necessarily have to be resolved in a litigation manner. Chen Ju was very unavoidable to sue, "If the defendant is willing to clarify the society and tell people (Chen Ju) about his innocence, he can further discuss and reconcile." It is just a way to settle the matter. The lawyer hopes that the two parties will communicate first and then reach a consensus before proceeding.
Wu Zijia told the media after the trial that it would be possible to reconcile. He believes that it is a duty for journalists to make comments on social welfare incidents. Being sued by the Secretary-General of Tsai Ing-wen’s office is a great reward to journalists and an honor for us. He had no intention of insulting Chen Ju, so there was nothing that could not be discussed.
As for the part that clarifies society, Wu Zijia believes that Chen Ju is a public official and it is natural to accept media supervision. I don’t know which parts he wants to clarify. Since both parties have the intention to reconcile, they will first enter the mediation court procedure, and the date is temporarily set to be held on the morning of May 16 for mediation.
