The remains of Taiwan City
is located on the southwest coast, , the southern end of the Jianan Plain . It was formerly known as Chikan. It was the location of the ancient Taiwan administration and a place with real stories.
Before Zheng Chenggong recaptured Taiwan in the Ming Dynasty, it was controlled by the Netherlands. First, " Relan Chacheng " was built in Kunshanshazhou, and then "Taiwan Street" and "Promin Cha Street" were built on the east bank of the castle. After Zheng Chenggong took Taiwan, he changed the Chikan area to "Dongdu Mingjing" and established one prefecture and two counties, named Chengtian Prefecture, which is now Chikan Tower. After Zheng Chenggong's death, the prince Zheng Jingming ascended the throne and changed the Dongdu Mingjing to "Dongning", built the first Confucius Temple in Taiwan, set up a school to promote people's wisdom, promote water conservancy, teach agriculture and sericulture, and appease the indigenous people, so that Taiwan gradually became a peaceful land.
1684, setting up Taiwan Prefecture in Tainan. The first governor Liu Mingchuan moved the provincial capital to Taipei, Tainan has always been the capital of the whole Taiwan.
In October 1895, the Japanese army occupied Taiwan and ruled for 50 years. This territory is called Tainan Prefecture.
In August 1945, the Republic of China took over Taiwan and changed Tainan Prefecture to Tainan County, and Tainan City under the prefecture was reorganized into a provincial city. In 1946, Anshun Township, Tainan County was renamed to Tainan City, which was Annan District . In 2010, Tainan City and County were merged and reorganized into Tainan "Municipal Directly-State".
To be honest, when traveling to Tainan, the highlights are still the castles and ancient streets.

Today's Anping Ancient Castle , known as Relan Cham City, Anping City, and Taiwan City in ancient times. It was first built in 1624.
