Marlin: famous for its lever bolt-type rifle
Marlin is a veteran American gun manufacturer founded by John Marlin (John Marlin) in 1870. The company's location, New Haven, Connecticut, was once a major center for American gun production in history and was known as the "American Arsenal."
Since its establishment in 1870, Marin Company has produced dozens of models of semi-automatic rifles, lever bolt rifles, pistols, submachine guns, and other different types of guns. The most well-known and popular among the private market is the Marin lever bolt rifle, but the company did not start with lever bolt rifle. John Marin, the founder of Marin, did not decide to start producing leveraged bolt-type rifles until 1881. At first, the design of the Marin lever bolt rifle mainly came from the patents of H.F. Wheeler (H.F. Wheeler), Andrew Burgess, E.A.F. Toepperwein (E.A.F. Toepperwein) and John Marin himself. Marin's first lever bolt rifle product was the 0.45-inch caliber M1881 rifle launched in 1881. In 1888, the company successively launched the 0.32-inch, 0.38-inch and 0.44-inch caliber M1888 rifles. In 1889, the company launched the first side-shell lever bolt-type rifle - M1889. In 1893, the improved model M1893 was launched with a two-stage firing needle. Over the past 100 years, Marin launched dozens of lever bolt-style rifles models that have won Marin's wide acclaim in the lever bolt-style rifle market. 2020 is the 150th year of the birth of the Marin brand. This year is the most difficult year for Marin and the new year.
Remington Outdoor Company went bankrupt and Marin brand newcomer
Bolong Capital Management (Cerberus Capital) is a private equity firm in the United States. The boss Stephen Feinberg has hoped to build a gun empire for many years. Bolong Capital Management started with the acquisition of the Great Viper (Bushmaster) gun company in 2005, and successively acquired several gun companies including Remington, Marlin, and DPMS. To this end, Bolong Capital Management Company specially established Freedom Group Holdings Company to integrate its firearms companies, and then form a huge group including firearms, ammunition, and optical instruments.
However, American private users do not recognize Freedom Group because the production quality and after-sales service of these brands have experienced serious declines after they are acquired. Freedom Group is considered the culprit for destroying these brands. For example, after Remington was acquired, not only did the product quality decline, but the newly launched products were also criticized and no one cared about. What's more, Remington originally won the bid for the PSR sniper rifle project of the US Special Operations Command in 2013, but the contract was terminated by the military due to poor production quality.
In 2013, Freedom Group was renamed Remington Outdoor Company. Due to the political impact of many vicious firearm incidents and the decline in product sales, Remington Outdoor Company's operating conditions have become increasingly difficult since 2015. In 2018, the company filed for bankruptcy protection, and later temporarily escaped the fate of being split after bankruptcy reorganization. But this did not give Remington Outdoors a freshman, and on July 27, 2020, Remington Outdoors filed for the second time for bankruptcy protection. In September of the same year, the court held a liquidation and auction of brands and assets owned by Remington Outdoor Company to compensate creditors, and Marin Company was also listed on the auction list.
