Yunnan Physician News On November 9, the award ceremony of the Yangtze River Physician Cup Yunnan Province 2018 Most Beautiful "Health Gatekeeper" Selection Activity, hosted by Yunnan Medical Association and Yunnan Network, guided by the Yunnan Provincial Health Commission, co-organized by the Yunnan Provincial Medical Association Rural Doctors Branch, and exclusively supported by the Yangtze River Physician Group, was held in Kunming. Xu Heping mentioned that in August this year, the Yunnan Provincial Medical Association held the first "Chinese Physicians' Day" celebration and the second "Yunnan Physicians' Award" award ceremony. The "Yunnan Physician Award" was first selected by the health and family planning commissions (bureaus) and relevant units directly under the committees of various prefectures and cities across the province, and finally 10 winners were selected, including 3 grassroots doctors.
Xu Heping said that grassroots doctors are an indispensable force in the medical team. At present, there are more than 15,000 grassroots medical and health institutions in our province, with more than 100,000 grassroots doctors and more than 30,000 rural doctors on duty. Although the conditions are arduous, they still demand themselves as a doctor, not forget their original aspirations, stick to their posts, and be brave to move forward. They provide basic medical services and basic disease prevention and health care services to the people in Community Health Service Center, , township health centers, and village health centers, and undertake a series of work such as disease diagnosis and treatment, planning immunization, and infectious disease prevention and control for the general public, which has alleviated the problem of difficulty in seeing a doctor at the grassroots people. This special selection activity is aimed at and focuses on the grassroots. The selected medical workers concentrated on displaying the noble image of the most beautiful doctors at the grassroots level in our province, and also conveying the positive energy of the doctors' benevolence to the society.
Xu Heping pointed out that at present, establishing tiered diagnosis and treatment and improving the service capabilities of primary medical institutions is a key task in medical reform, and grassroots doctors play an important role in it. It is reported that this selection activity was launched on June 29, 2018 and is divided into registration, prefecture and city segment evaluation, provincial preliminary evaluation, online voting, provincial final evaluation and other stages, which lasted for four months. The registration materials received came from 83 counties (districts) and municipalities in 16 prefectures and prefectures across the province. 141 candidates were recommended by the prefectures and cities to enter the provincial preliminary evaluation. A total of 60 rural doctors, general practitioners and family doctor teams became candidates after being selected by the review group and accepted online voting. The final evaluation team conducted a comprehensive assessment of candidates from multiple aspects such as professional spirit, basic medical services, basic public health services, family doctor contracts, public satisfaction, and professional standards. They not only focused on work performance, but also fully considered social impact, and selected 30 winners.
