Since the house is an old brick-and-wood house with surrounding buildings close by, the fire spreads rapidly, and the thick smoke emitted is nearly 100 meters high. More than 1,100 teachers and students of Dongshan Primary School, about 50 meters away from the site, were urgently evacuated. After the fire broke out, the Ruian Municipal Public Security Fire Department immediately dispatched the Ruian Squadron and Shangwang full-time team, a total of 5 vehicles and more than 30 firefighters, to fight the fire. In the end, after nearly two hours of hard work, the fire was completely extinguished.
According to Mr. Li Xiaojie, director of the Dongshan Primary School Teaching Department, after the fire, principal Li Yuhai immediately broadcasted on campus and asked all teachers and students to gather at the playground immediately. About two minutes later, all teachers and students had already gathered at the playground. No one was injured during the evacuation. Some teachers were arranged to patrol the classrooms and corridors in various classrooms and corridors to prevent students from staying in the building.
