Saab The 900 four-seater convertible was one of the symbols of young urban professionals in the United States in the 1980s.
In the insurance company survey, Saab has maintained a good safety record, and is known for attaching importance to car safety and durability, just like another vehicle depot in Sweden, Volvo.
Saab and Volvo Cars are called Sweden's national treasure.
At the end of 2008, in order to seek assistance from the US federal government, General declared Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn Automobile as cancelled brands. On the one hand, General Motors said it would not rule out the suspension of production, but on the other hand, it actively planned to sell Saab. Originally, it was the most popular to sell it to Koenigsegg, but the plan failed, and the negotiations to take over Saab Auto also broke down.
On December 15, 2009, China Beijing Automobile Group acquired three vehicle platforms such as Saab 9-5 and 9-3, as well as two series of turbocharged engines and transmissions for US$200 million, as well as part of the production and manufacturing molds.
General Motors plans to close Saab Auto after a series of failed sell-off negotiations, but SG Motor once again discussed with General Motors on December 20, 2009 to take over Saab Auto and reached an agreement on January 26, 2010. SG Motor officially took over Saab Auto in February.
At the end of 2011, SAAB company applied for bankruptcy protection from the government because it was unable to pay the money owed to parts dealers and employees' salaries.

History Looking Back
Sabor originally belonged to Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Aircraft Co., Ltd.), which was established in 1937 in the southern Swedish city of Linköping (Linköping).
The company's main purpose is to provide the aircraft needed by the Swedish Air Force and to protect its status as a neutral country in World War II. As the fighter market shrank at the end of the war, the company began to look for a diversified new market.
Svenska Aeroplan AB Era
First Saab Automobile—Ursaab
In 1944, the 92 project began, Saab began to build Saab's first sedan based on this goal.
Three years later, Saab Tianzi No. 1 Saab 92001 (or Ursaab), which originated in the aviation field, was published. It is worth noting that the car's resistance coefficient was 0.30, which was the mass-produced car with the lowest resistance coefficient at that time. Within three years of the 1992 project, Saab's automobile distribution factory moved and the project were moved to Trollhättan, and Saab's headquarters is still there.
In 1949, Saab launched Saab 92 and began mass production. The Saab 92 sold over 20,000 units in the mid-1950s.

joined the Wagon variant model Saab 95 in 1959. In this decade, Saab also entered the sports car field for the first time, launching the Saab 94.

Saab 99

designs Sixten Sason of 92, 93, 95, 96 and 99. His design also continues to affect the body style of the future Saab, such as the hockey curve of the rear door glass.
Saab-Scania AB Era 1969–1989

SABO 99 expanded the combi body type in 1973. The 1974 Saab 99 Combi coupé hatchback uses the concept of a diagonal triangle, with the oblique length shorter than the sum of the two bottoms, and designs the rear windshield and suitcase lid into a gentle oblique curve. Compared with the design of a clear turning angle between the rear windshield and the steel plate suitcase lid, the side length of this tailgate opening will not be too long and affect the rigidity of the body. It retains the practicality of the hatchback's large suitcase opening and the long tail of the three-box sedan. Later, it became the unique appearance feature of Saab Auto, and soon achieved great success. It almost became synonymous with Saab Auto at that time.
976, the Saab 99 models exceeded one million.

1978, the project replaced Saab 99 with Saab 900. The Saab 900 also produced nearly 1 million vehicles, becoming the Saab best-selling model. The Saab 900, which started producing the Cabo version in 1986, accounts for nearly 20% of the Saab 900 sales.
General Motors took over 1989–2010
Sabau decline
989, the Saab Automobile department was separated from Saab-Scania and reorganized an independent company, Saab Automobile AB, headquartered in Sweden. GM (GM) and AB Holdings each account for 50% of the shares, and GM invested $600 million to acquire the remaining shares in the next 10 years.
In 1994, General Motors participated and promoted the new Saab 900. The new Saab 900 shared the platform with Opel (Opel) Vectra has achieved great success, and Saab finally ended its seven-year loss in 1995.
997 marked that Saab had become an automobile manufacturer for 50 years. At the conference celebrating its 50th anniversary, it was announced that it would replace the old Saab 9000 with the new model Saab 9-5.
and Saab 900 will be redesigned as Saab 9-3. The Saab 9-5 is the first Saab model without a two-door Combi model, and was released in 1999.

General Company acquired the remaining shares of Saab in 2000 and spent US$125 million to include Saab as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
, the new 9-3, was born in 2003 under the model of a subsidiary's shared platform, and Saab's iconic two-door hatchback model was completely replaced by a four-door model.
According to GM's strategy, the Saab 9-2X based on Subaru Impreza and the Saab 9-7X based on Chevrolet Trailblazer were introduced to the United States, and hope to increase sales in 2005. But this model has also proved to fail, thus canceling production.
and GM also delayed three years to publish the 9-3 Wegon model, canceling the Saab 9-5 facelift expected in 2005.
and announced the move of Saab's production line from the original Swedish Trollhättan to Opel's factory in Rüsselsheim.
At the end of 2008, General Motors, which was severely impacted by the subprime mortgage crisis, was declared to have cancelled its brands in order to seek assistance from the US federal government. On the one hand, General Motors stated that it is possible to cancel and discontinue the Saab Auto brand, and on the other hand, it is also seeking to take over the company for Saab.
Saab Automobile, due to the decline caused by a series of policy errors in GM, General Motors, which received US federal aid, announced that Saab had entered a "observation period" in December 2008 and stated that it was possible to sell it, and it was not ruled out that the brand was closed.

According to reports, there have been some potential buyers, including BMW (BMW), Fiat, Geely (Geely), Hyundai, Magna (Magna), Renault (Renault) and Tata Motors, India. There are three bidders who are serious about negotiations: Koenigsegg, Merbanco, and Renco Group.
As the negotiations progressed, General Motors gradually tended to stop Saab and put the company in bankruptcy protection.
Saboo CEO Jan-Åke Jonsson (pictured above) said: "The best way is to make Saab an independent company and be prepared to raise funds." However, the Swedish government is unwilling to intervene in the matter. Swedish Minister of Industry Maud Olofsson (pictured below) said: "Sweden will not rashly use tax funds to aid Saab Automobile"
On June 16, 2009, Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg announced that they intend to purchase the Saab Automobile brand from General Motors. Behind this is a group of Norwegian investors bid with China Beijing Automobile. In the following month, both parties announced that GM agreed to the deal. However, despite excellent financial reports, the loans still require support from the European Investment Bank. Although the
loan was approved in October, on November 24, Christian von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg, issued a statement saying: "After these six months of hard work, although the goals were clear in the process, this sad conclusion was reached, that is, Koenigsegg could not continue to acquire Saab, which is regretful."
On December 14, Beijing Automobile participated in the bidding and finally made a return. BAIC obtained intellectual property and production equipment for the first generation of Saab 9-3 and Saab 9-5, with a total value of US$200 million.
BAIC said it intends to use the purchased technology to build a new brand. It is believed that Beijing Automobile has obtained three vehicle platforms, two engine systems and two transmission systems.
After the breakdown of negotiations with Koenigsegg, General Motors announced that Saab would officially stop production in 2010 if there were no buyers after 2009. After negotiations with several companies, including Spyker, a fine supercar maker in the Netherlands, failed.
General Motors tends to gradually end Saab, but Spyker does not give up and continues to propose new acquisitions. At this time, three other manufacturers (Merbanco, AWMS and GENII in Luxembourg) participated in the bidding.
GM continues to accept bids. Until the deadline of January 7, 2010, while the chances of either party reaching the agreement are very slim, GM promises to evaluate each proposal and review due diligence.
However, on January 25, 2010, Spyker's stock price suddenly soared 77%, and these signs were considered signs of a buyer surfaced by Saab.
Spyker Spyker (2010-2011)
On January 26, 2010, General Motors confirmed that GM and Spyker had implemented an agreement, and General Motors allowed Spyker to purchase Saab, and it had been approved by the government. Sales will be completed in February 2010.
General Motors will continue to provide the engine and transmission required by Saab. The new Saab 9-4X will also be produced by General Motors' Mexico factory. The transaction amount and loan will be secured by the Swedish government and paid by the European Investment Bank, and the transaction includes a $74 million top payment in July 2010, as well as a Spyker stake totaling $320 million.
Saab has also announced that it will establish a U.S. headquarters in Royal Oak, Michigan. The Saab 9-3 will launch its next generation in 2012 and will return to production at the Swedish factory that Saab re-opened in March 2010. Saab also announced on June 18, 2010 that 36-year-old Jason Castriota was appointed as Spyker-Saab's new design director, responsible for the design work of future vehicle appearance, interior and other parts, and dominate the design axis of future Saab's products. The first work will be the new generation of Saab 9-3 in 2012.
|Looking for investment
On May 3, 2011, China Huatai Automobile and Sweden Saab officially signed a strategic partner agreement at the Westin Hotel in Jinmao Beijing. Huatai Automobile will invest in Saab Automobile's parent company Spyker. China Huatai Automobile Group will inject 150 million euros into the company's Saab in exchange for a stake in Spyker, which will give Saab the ability to pay bills and resume production lines that were forced to shut down in early April. Among them, Huatai Automobile will invest 120 million euros in exchange for up to 29.9% of SGU Automobile's shares.
|Huatai failed
Spyker also obtained the remaining 30 million euros financing in a six-month convertible loan agreement, with an annual interest rate of 7%. The loan will be exchanged for the company's shares at a conversion price of 4.88 euros per share. But the deal was signed on May 3 and was immediately suspended on May 12. According to Spyker, since Huatai cannot meet the conditions in the agreement, Spyker has to terminate the strategic agreement.
|Pangda "entered"
On May 16, 2011, Spyker claimed that it had found a new China partner willing to inject capital into Saab - China Pang Da Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. (Pang Da Automobile Trade Co.), and had implemented the agreement with it. According to the agreement, Pangda Auto Trade Group will inject 65 million euros into Spyker and hold a 24% stake in Spyker.

Pangda Auto Trade Group will also invest 30 million euros to purchase Saab vehicles and may purchase up to 15 million euros to purchase Saab cars in the next 30 days. In addition, in a Spyker announcement, it said that after receiving the initial €30 million injected funds, Saab will implement payment and delivery agreements with suppliers, and this amount will help the smooth operation of Saab's production line.
On May 27, 2011, Saab's production line in Trollhaitan City began to re-operate, the first time the production line has been activated since the shutdown on April 6.
|Hard returns
On August 27, 2011, the SAAB union said: This is the third time that SAAB employees have not been able to receive their salary as scheduled. The union has issued a notice to Saab Auto through a lawyer that if Saab still cannot pay his salary, the union will file a bankruptcy application to the court.
In September 2011, Spyker reorganized and established Swedish Automobile NV (SWAN) to operate SAAB and sold the original Spyker shares to companies in the United States. On October 28, 2011, SWAN announced that it would sell 100% of SAAB shares to China Panda and Youth Group for 100 million euros.
|General "scrambled"
This transaction later broke the deadlock. Spyker CEO Victor Muller claimed that the transaction process was maliciously obstructed by General Motors, and has filed a lawsuit with the US court and requested US$3 billion for compensation December 19, 2011-Swedish Automobile (SWAN) filed a request for bankruptcy protection in the Swedish District Court in Vänersborg. The Swedish court once rejected that after SAAB appealed, the court agreed to review the Saab's reorganization appeal.
|Pangda "falls"
Investment in Saab has caused Pangda to suffer a considerable loss. Pangda Group has paid 45 million euros (about 370 million yuan) in advance in the "brand gift", but Saab Automobile announced bankruptcy, and Pangda Group eventually "lost both people and money."
"The biggest detour I have taken should be the acquisition of Saab. After going public, I have money and am not cautious enough in investment. This is also the process of my growth from inflation to calmness."About the detours taken, Pang Qinghua admitted to the media.
But for the accusation of radical expansion, Pang Qinghua once claimed that if he was a "conservative", Pang Da Group might not be today, "We may still be in Luan County."
According to Pang Da annual report data, the group's revenue in 2018 reached 42.034 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 68%; the annual loss was 6.172 billion yuan. The situation in the first quarter of 2019 did not improve, with a loss of 489 million yuan.
