In 1996, Chiang Kai-shek's young grandson and Jiang Jingguo's fifth son Jiang Xiaoyong dragged his terminally ill body and held a press conference.
At the press conference, he exposes the detailed process of Lee Teng-hui and others obstructing the "two Chiangs" from moving the spirit continent. finally said two words shocking the world.
Jiang Xiaoyong
These two sentences not only made Taiwanese politicians feel ashamed, but Taiwanese people also sighed after hearing this.
Nowadays, Jiang Xiaoyong and others who participated in the Movement of Chiang Kai-shek and others have left the world, but the problem of "Two Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Kai-shek" still disturbs the Taiwanese authorities.
So, what twists and turns have the two Jiangs experienced when moving their spirits? What did Jiang Xiaoyong say at the press conference?
The unification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait failed to be completed, and the coffin of the two Chiang Kai-shek was left in Taiwan
1949, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Taiwan.
According to his initial idea, he can make a comeback in three years or five years, recover the Chinese mainland occupied by the "Communist bandits" and achieve his so-called "anti-communist restoration".
But all this is just his daydream. His "Guangguang" plan has been delayed for more than ten years and has not made any substantial progress. Taiwan's situation is even more difficult, but he is already in his twilight years.
The so-called "Birds are old and old nests, and people are old and miss their hometown" . In his later years, Chiang Kai-shek missed the mountains and rivers of the mainland and every grass and tree in his hometown.
Chairman Mao also knew the mood of this former opponent, so he asked Zhang Shizhao to write to him:
" Xikou The flowers and plants are sound, Fenghua Lu's tomb is still there; Taiwan's golden horses, lips and teeth are dependent on each other, looking at the south sky from afar, I hope you can take care of it."
hopes that he can come back and achieve peaceful reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. But he still couldn't let go of his obsession with counterattacking the mainland, so he didn't go back in the end.
In fact, in his later years, he realized that it was impossible to realize this delusion in his lifetime, but he still hoped that his descendants could help him fulfill this wish one day in the future.
So he instructed his descendants to not be buried in a foreign land after after he died, and to wait for the mainland to "restore" before moving his hometown and let his leaves return to his roots.
For this reason, he also specially selected three cemeteries for himself, one is Zhongshan Mausoleum in Zijin Mountain, Nanjing, and the other is the Jiang family cemetery in his hometown in Xikou, Fenghua. The last thing is Lushan, which he has always loved.
Ironically, it is the Communist Party he hated who carefully protected these three places that made him feel connected and his soul connected.
On April 5, 1975, Chiang Kai-shek passed away at the Shilin official residence in Taipei. The family finally did not bury him in Taiwan based on his last wishes.
But where to temporarily store his coffin, it made his family trouble. In the end, Jiang Ching-kuo made the decision to temporarily take his father's body in Cihu .
Cihu is originally named Buwei, and is a lake in Fu'anli, Daxi Town, Taoyuan County. The green mountains around the lake are green, the green trees are filled with smoke, the terraces are staggered, and the streams are gurgling, which is quite similar to the mouth of Fenghua River in Chiang Kai-shek's hometown.
When Chiang Kai-shek was moved by the scene and felt sad, he changed the name of the Buxiao Cihu. is to thank his mother, Mrs. Wang, and to the Cihu in his hometown, Ningbo .
When he could not be buried in the mainland, his family first placed him in this place where he had too much emotion, which was the best way to find in his helplessness.
And after our party learned about Chiang Kai-shek's last wish, he responded positively to it.
In 1981, in a speech commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, Hu Yaobang publicly stated:
"Not only has Mr. Sun Yat-sen's tomb been repeatedly repaired, but the tomb of Fenghua has been restored and the Meilu of Lushan is maintained as usual."
and welcomes "Mr. Chiang Kai-shek's coffin moved to the Jiang Cemetery in Fenghua."In 1982, the central government appointed Liao Chengzhi to write an open letter to Chiang Ching-kuo, promising in the letter:
Chiang Kai-shek's coffin "after unification, he would move to An 's hometown, either Fenghua, Nanjing, or Lushan, to achieve filial piety."
Hu Yaobang
Under the influence of our party, Jiang Ching-kuo himself also realized the impracticality of "restoring the mainland".
So in his later years, he changed his previous three positions of "no contact, no negotiation, no compromise" and took the initiative to send people to the mainland for peace talks.
hopes to return my father's body to the mainland during his lifetime. But the New Year is no longer the same, just as the cross-strait peace talks made significant progress, Chiang Ching-kuo suddenly passed away. Although the cross-strait peace talks have only started, Chiang Ching-kuo has firmly believed that in the near future, his father's coffin will return to the old scholar.
So he also left a will and would follow his father to move to the mainland to rebel.
Jiang Jingguo
But the burial place he dreamed of was Xikou Town, Fenghua, so that he could always accompany his mother and make up for the regret of not being able to perform filial piety in front of his knees.
So, after Chiang Ching-kuo passed away, his family did not bury him in Taiwan in order to comply with his will.
Instead, he temporarily placed his body in the Touliao next to Cihu, asking him to accompany his father for a while, and wait until the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are unified, and then move to the mainland together.
The situation in Taiwan suddenly changed, and he wanted to move his ancestors to protect his ancestors. However, the political situation after Taiwan exceeded the expectations of the Jiang family.
After Lee Teng-hui, who was promoted to power by Chiang Ching-kuo, succeeded to the leader of Taiwan Province, changed his previous attitude of being timid towards the Jiang family, and instead repeatedly demoted the Chiang father and son politically.
Lee Teng-hui
Under the banner of "localization" and "democratization", he accused the Kuomintang led by the Chiang father and son of being a "foreign regime". also said that their long-term implementation of authoritarian rule in Taiwan is the culprit of obstructing Taiwan's democratization process.
Under Lee Teng-hui's instigation, the people's attitude towards the Chiang father and son changed a lot. Some extremists even overthrew Chiang Kai-shek's statue and erased Chiang Kai-shek's inscriptions, etc.
The calls from other parties about the abolition of Lingyan management units, the deletion of management funds, and the abolition of the guards guarding the tomb are getting higher and higher.
The Jiang father and son have controlled Taiwan for nearly 40 years and have all died now. At least the death should be the most important.
And now Chiang Ching-kuo has passed away for only a few years, and the Taiwanese people have treated Chiang's bodies in this way. The indignation of the Chiang family can be imagined.
But the descendants of the Jiang family have long been unable to control the situation in Taiwan. After Chiang Ching-kuo, the Jiang family had a decline.
Among Jiang Ching-kuo's six children, Jiang Xiaowen , Jiang Xiaowu , Chapter Xiaoci have passed away one after another, Jiang Xiaoyong is also advanced cancer , and the third generation of children has almost reached a situation where no one is available.
At the same time, the Jiang family also lost its political power. The Jiang family's confidant President Yu Guohua, the "Chief of Staff" Hao Baicun and others were successively squeezed out by Lee Teng-hui.
Party Secretary-General Li Huan also defected to Lee Teng-hui, and the rest was Jiang Weiguo, who was then the "Secretary-General of the National Security Council", and , but Jiang Weiguo was also seriously ill. It is a well-known fact that the Jiang family will decline even further in the political situation after
. Until then, the bodies of Chiang Kai-shek will not have a place to live in Taiwan.
In this case, Jiang Xiaoyong, the legitimate son, began to plan to move the spirit continent, one by one, fulfilling the last wishes of the two elders, and the other by avoiding the humiliation of his ancestors in Taiwan.
In 1995, Jiang Xiaoyong was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He felt that he had not had much time and hoped to fulfill his grandfather’s last wishes during his lifetime.
So he told his uncle Jiang Weiguo about his thoughts. The two hit it off. After some planning, the two began to take action respectively.
Jiang Weiguo
On July 8, 1996, Jiang Weiguo suddenly threw out a motion to move two Chiang to the mainland in a high-level meeting of the Kuomintang, and caught Lee Teng-hui off guard.
At this time, Lee Teng-hui was promoting the "special relationship between countries" between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
If at this time, the bodies of two former leaders in Taiwan were moved back to what he called "another country", then his fallacies would completely lose their theoretical basis.
So Lee Teng-hui will definitely not agree to the two Jiang Yiling Continent.
But before he could think of a countermeasure, he first made a hasty excuse on the grounds that "this matter is of great importance and must be submitted to the Central Committee of the Kuomintang for discussion."
Who would have thought that one wave had not yet settled, and another wave had risen again.
On July 25, 1996, Jiang Xiaoyong flew to the mainland without Lee Teng-hui's prior knowledge.
The relevant parties in the mainland warmly received Jiang Xiaoyong and found the best traditional Chinese medicine doctor in the country to treat him. But at that time, Jiang Xiaoyong was already terminally ill, and traditional Chinese medicine was helpless.
00 thoughts were silent and he had only one wish left, which was to go to the Jiang family's ancestral home to check it out. The relevant departments of quickly agreed to his request and sent a special person to escort Jiang Xiaoyong to Xikou.
Jiang Xiaoyong was born in Shanghai in 1948. He followed his father to the mainland when he was still in his infancy, so this was the first time he returned to his ancestral residence in his life.
When he returned to his hometown, he was very excited and dragged his sick body to finish every step of the stairs in the creek mouth. He said to his family members who accompanied him:
"This is the way back to his hometown, the way to recognize his ancestors. It's only after so many years that he has the chance to take the first opportunity. He has to walk up step by step."
After coming to his ancestral home, Jiang Xiaoyong saw "The tomb of Fenghua is still, and the flowers and plants in the creek mouth are safe" .
Comparing the treatment of Jiang Lingfei in Taiwan, he was even more sad. Finally, he said to his family emotionally: "No matter what, our Jiang family is all Chinese."
Jiang Weiguo's proposal to move forward to his hometown and Jiang Xiaoyong's move to return home quickly reached the ears of Taiwanese media, and public opinion was discussed for a while.
Movement Movement was not completed, Xiaoyong said many times and sighed
At that time, most people in Taiwan believed that the Movement Movement Movement Movement of the descendants of the Chiang family was reasonable and in line with Chinese tradition.
and most other parties in Taiwan support the Jiang family's motion, but the Kuomintang has not made any statement for a long time.
Just when Lee Teng-hui was at a loss, another confidant of the Jiang family, Jiang Yanshi, who was the then "Presidential Office", defected to Lee Teng-hui and offered advice to Lee Teng-hui:
"It is better to make a false promise and follow the flow. It is best to use Soong Mei-ling to stop Jiang Wei-kuo."
Lee Teng-hui was overjoyed and immediately established the "Two Chiang Move Group" to show off in form.
The Irrigation Group is nominally studying the feasibility of the motion of Jiang Weiguo and Jiang Xiaoyong, but in fact the members of the group are all people he has chosen, and the research conclusions have long been under his complete control.
In addition, in order to completely block the mouths of the "supportive" faction within the Kuomintang, Lee Teng-hui attracted Zhang Xiaoyan, who had a close personal relationship with him, into the research group.
Although Xiaoyan's surname is Zhang, he is Jiang Ching-kuo's concubine son and is also considered a member of the Jiang family. However, he has a relatively distant relationship with Jiang Weiguo and others, so he can make a fuss about him.
Then he found Gu Zhenfu's wife Yan Daoyun and entrusted her to go to the United States to lobby for Soong Mei-ling.
Soong Mei-ling has always advocated the burial of Chiang Kai-shek as the "former president of the Republic of China" in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum of Nanjing, but when the situation in the Taiwan Strait took a sharp turn for the worse, there were too many difficulties in implementing this plan. After several considerations, she changed her previous attitude of supporting the movement and finally agreed to Lee Teng-hui's proposal to "bury the two Chiang Kai-shek in Taiwan first.
With Soong Mei-ling's statement, the spirit movement group was ruthless. All members, including Jiang Xiaoyan, agreed unanimously, saying that the current time for spirit movement is not yet ripe.
The people in the Kuomintang who supported the movement of spirits saw that Soong Mei-ling had expressed his opinion that they did not support the movement of spirits, so they had nothing to say. Therefore, the motion of moving proposed by Jiang Weiguo and others was unanimously rejected.
Jiang Weiguo was deeply saddened when he received the news, but he still did not give up his efforts. At the subsequent Fourth Central Judges of the 14th National People's Party, he explained in detail the main reasons for the proposal to move.
In private, it is the filial piety of the son of man, in line with the traditional custom of the Chinese people that the tree is thousands of feet tall, the leaves return to their roots, and the peace of mind.
is the public who uses the issue of moving as a catalyst for loosening deadlock to restore normal communication between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
speakers speak earnestly, but listeners are absent-minded and respond few. Jiang Xiaoyong was even more excited after learning the news and immediately convened a press conference to hold a reporter.
At the press conference, he not only scolded Jiang Ching-kuo's former subordinate Jiang Yanshi for revenge and "shameless" ; he also satirized Zhang Xiaoyan's surname Zhang for being "not qualified to talk about the affairs of the Jiang family."
Finally, he said two words angrily, one of which was . "The Kuomintang is no longer the Kuomintang. It is better for the two Chiangs to move the mainland to move their spirits than to be whipped by their own people."
Another sentence is "Every place has customs in every place. The custom of our hometown is to return to our hometown to settle down for peace. Why do we need to politicize the emigration and peace?"
Jiang Jingguo and Chiang Kai-shek
people present sighed when they heard this. The Jiang family, who had been in charge of the Kuomintang for nearly 60 years, fell to such a state.
not only basically lost the right to speak within the party, but also worried that his Kuomintang would start to engage in political liquidation of them.
Not long after, Jiang Xiaoyong and Jiang Weiguo also passed away one after another, and a storm of spirit movement was left alone.
But the two words Jiang Xiaoyong said at the press conference came true.
Irrigation was finally politicized, and realizing the last wish is unified
first of all, what he called the "pan-politicization issue".
In January 2004, on the eve of the Taiwan leadership election, Mrs. Jiang Ching-kuo and Jiang Weiguo's wife Qiu Ruxue and others suddenly wrote a letter to Chen Shui-bian in the name of all their families.
requested the Wuzhishan Taiwan Army Demonstration Cemetery under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of National Defense, which is essentially to build momentum for the pan-blue camp where the Kuomintang is located.
But unexpectedly, Chen Shui-bian, who had been committed to "de-Chenghua", happily agreed to the Jiang family's request and ordered the handling of related matters under the State Funeral Law. After the incident, Chen Shui-bian took the opportunity to boast that "foreign regimes have to agree with Taiwan" to make a fortune for his "ethnic integration" policy. After some operation, the Jiang family's request for moving spirit was actually used as an assist for Chen Shui-bian.
Later, the Kuomintang's pan-blue camp was defeated, and opposed the move to Wuzhishan on the grounds that "the DPP's governance philosophy is different from the two Chiang Kai-sheks' opposition to the independence scene during his lifetime."
The tomb built by Chen Shui-bian for the two Chiang Kai-shek was abandoned.
But in 2007, in order to prepare for the "legislator" in January 2008 and the "presidential" election in March, Chen Shui-bian began to reiterate the " de-Chenghua ".
He not only declared that "the mausoleum of Jiang Gong of Cihu is a feudal product that is completely inconsistent with the trend of the democratic era, but also forcibly withdrew the guards of the tomb at the end of the year.
and Cihu Cemetery was also closed, claiming that it will only be reopened to the public after the movement is completed.
Jiang Jingguo and his wife Jiang Fangliang
In order not to insult their ancestors, Jiang Xiaoyong's wife Fang Zhiyi and others re-put the motion of "Moving Continent".
But after the lessons learned last time, the Kuomintang believes that the proposal to move the mainland now will not only arouse the sensitive nerves of cross-strait relations, but may even affect the 2008 "presidential election."
So let the Jiang family wait for a while and then make unified plans after the "general election". But after the Kuomintang was elected, the issue of moving the spirit was left unresolved. The reason is that "the Kuomintang has long been no longer the Kuomintang."
2021 Zhu Lilun was elected chairman of the Kuomintang, not only claimed that the Kuomintang was a pro-American party, but also openly denied the " 1992 Consensus ".
He claimed that the "1992 Consensus" is a "consensus without consensus", and clamored to engage in "principles-based" contact and negotiation with the mainland.
After Lee Teng-hui's death on July 30, he publicly commented that he promoted "democratic Taiwan" and made great contributions to the development of Taiwan...
Previously, on February 28, 2018, six "Taiwan independence" elements mingled into the Cihu Mausoleum and poured red paint on Chiang Kai-shek's coffin with "symbolizing the blood of the victims".
They claimed to be punishing Chiang Kai-shek for his crimes committed in the 228 incident.
This is also the first destruction suffered after Chiang Kai-shek's coffin was placed in Cihu. Strangely, the audience on the scene was watching indifferently, and no one came forward to stop it.
The "gendant police" who arrived later also seemed to be unrelated to their own affairs and allowed the criminals to do whatever they wanted. If continues, the "whip corpse" that Jiang Xiaoyong was worried about back then may not be far away.
Chiang Kai-shek ruled Taiwan for so many years, but in the end he did not win the awe of later generations; and no matter how many mistakes Chiang Ching-kuo was, he led Taiwan into the four Asian dragons after all.
The two Chiangs, who were in the world, ended up in such a field after their death. Not only could they not fall back from their roots, but they could not even be buried in peace.
But they can’t blame others for the cause.
If Chiang Kai-shek had not been determined to counterattack the mainland after retreating to Taiwan, but instead actively accepted the peace talks, the current situation would not have been achieved between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
If Chiang Ching-kuo had not pushed Lee Teng-hui to Taiwan, he would not have laid the evil roots of Taiwan independence in Taiwan society, and cross-strait peace talks would not have been as tortuous as they are now.
But no matter what, Taiwan has been a part of China since ancient times. Our determination to unify Taiwan will not change. The last wish of the two Chiangs to return to their roots will be realized by the mainland...
