Chengde City, Hebei Province Xinglong County is known as the hometown of chestnuts and hawthorns in China. Baodi Village, you can tell that it is a good place when you hear the name. It is adjacent to the Ganges Natural Scenic Area, one of the four major scenic spots planned by Xinglong County. Dashuiquan Town is well-known as Zhangjiajie in the north. Where should the poor village start tourism?
If you want to be rich, you must first build roads, and develop tourism, you must open up your mind. Beichen Shuangjie Village and Xinglong Baodi Village are counterpart assistance villages. Zhou Qinggeng took the Baodi Village two committees to Shuangjie Village for inspection many times. The key factor that Shuangjie Village can make agricultural tourism and picking vivid is that it has complete tourism supporting facilities. If Baodi Village wants to engage in tourism, it must first provide good tourism reception. In 2018, Beichen District targeted the construction of a village-level tourism complex in Baodi Village.
Eat and stay for a night, and the villagers' wallets are full. After the tourism complex was completed, there were places to eat and stay, but they could not eat chestnuts and hawthorns every day. After Zhou Qinggeng led the village’s “two committees” team to conduct research, everyone still believed that using the management experience of Shuangjie Village to develop facility agriculture and establish cooperatives can mobilize the enthusiasm of villagers and participate in the development of ecological tourism.
Landscapes are barriers, but from a different perspective, landscapes become scarce resources. The counterpart assistance focuses on industrial assistance, the ecology is booming, and the pearl of Yanshan Mountain is rising, and the momentum of developing the tourism industry has been highlighted.
Nowadays, the main body of Xiaodong District Health Center has been completed and put into use, becoming the grassroots health center with the highest standards for construction in Xinglong County. The medical treatment environment of surrounding villagers has improved qualitatively.
In recent years, the construction and development of primary medical institutions in Beichen District has made rapid progress, and medical and health resources and the actual needs of Xinglong are organically combined. In 2017, the Beichen District Health and Family Planning Commission visited Xinglong and brought assistance funds from Beichen District. During the reconstruction of Xiaodong District Health Center, Zhou Qinggeng and staff from Xinglong County Poverty Alleviation Office visited the site many times to inspect the project quality and progress, and safeguard the project's initial use.
In the past two years, Beichen District has 18 counterpart assistance projects in Xinglong County, with a direct assistance fund of nearly 30 million yuan. As a Lianxin Bridge for counterpart assistance between Beichen and Xinglong, Zhou Qinggeng has traveled to all 20 townships in Xinglong County, with a research route of more than 1,000 kilometers. He frequently traveled to and from Beichen and Xinglong to connect resources and exchange activities, held more than 30 Xinglong theme investment exchange inspection activities, and implemented more than 10 projects under discussion, attracting the advantageous resources of all sectors of Beichen society to Xinglong, and increasing Xinglong's influence in Beichen and even Tianjin.
Zhou Qinggeng said: "In Xinglong, there is pressure, responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. No matter how difficult the counterpart assistance work is, you must make it a good idea! The assistance projects at the city and district levels are prescribed actions, with high standards and quality and quantity completed. In fact, more of our Beichen's optional actions are being planned and connected in the winter of Xinglong County. The winter in Xinglong County is very cold, but everyone's hearts are warm. Next spring, more precise assistance projects are expected to take root in Xinglong's towns and villages, and bloom at multiple points. Under the correct leadership of the Beichen District Party Committee and District Government, with the strong support of nearly 1 million Beichen's hometown people, the counterpart assistance work between Beichen and Xinglong will definitely be a hundred feet tall.
