Development history

JASSM is the third series of GPS guided intelligent bombs and is also the most expensive series. The original JDAM GPS bomb kit (plugged to the tail of 500, 1000 pounds and 2000 pounds, costing $26,000 each. The long range JSOW (Winged version of JDAM with a more powerful navigation system) costs $460,000 each. The further JASSM costs more than $500,000 (400 km version) of 900 km JASSM ER over $1 million.
