In an exclusive interview with radio programs yesterday, he revealed that he had met with the current Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Wencan on August 21 for detailed discussions. Zheng Wencan regrets "Staying down and going straight to the public", and even revealed that he had conducted seven polls, and 4 of them were the result of his victory over the Democratic Progressive Party's Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Yunpeng.
Zheng Baoqing said in an exclusive interview with host Huang Yangming in "Kong News" on August 31 that before the DPP officially nominated for the candidate for Taoyuan mayor, he went to the DPP's Party headquarters on June 15, but the senior party official told him that Zheng Wencan, Zheng Yunpeng and former Hsinchu Mayor Lin Zhijian had completed coordination and confirmed that Lin would take action. Although he proposed to make a poll at that time, "As long as you lose 0.01%, I am willing to accept the loss," the party directly nominated a few days later and no poll was conducted at all.
In addition, Zheng Baoqing also revealed that he had met Zheng Wencan on August 21 to discuss the election. At that time, Zheng Wencan also expressed regret for the direct nomination of Zheng Yunpeng, believing that the poll should be conducted. He also only asked for a fair, just and open poll. Afterwards, although Tsai Ing-wen, the Secretary-General and others agreed, they refused to conduct it publicly. Therefore, Tsai Ing-wen, former DPP Chairman Xu Xinliang and others requested to meet, but he did not agree.
Zheng Baoqing emphasized, "Our most basic requirement is that he refuses to a fair poll, so he (Zheng Wencan) comes out and says that I lose 10%, but I haven't seen it from beginning to end!" Zheng Baoqing added that according to the polls he conducted, four of them were defeated by Zheng Yunpeng in seven times, and they were all within the error range.
