Although the AFC has extended the deadline for the 2023 Asian Cup bid and submission of materials from June 30 to July 15, the football associations of Indonesia and South Korea are still officially applying for this Asian Cup within the old prescribed time limit. Among them, the Korean Football Association has submitted relevant information on hosting the Asian Cup to the AFC on June 30; the Indonesian Football Association stated a day ago that they will submit relevant documents for applying as soon as possible.

2023 Asian Cup event was originally scheduled to be held in 10 cities in China from June 16 to July 16, 2023, but in May this year, the Chinese Organizing Committee of the Asian Cup issued an announcement stating that due to the impact of the epidemic, it is difficult for them to make commitments and arrangements for next year's Asian Cup in accordance with a fully open model. Therefore, after discussing with the AFC, it was decided that the event will be held in a place. At the end of May, the AFC issued an invitation to host the 2023 Asian Cup, hoping to find a new organizer as soon as possible.
Now, the AFC has finally waited for a response. The Indonesian Football Association and the South Korean Football Association have confirmed their bid for this Asian Cup within one day. Among them, the South Korean Football Association has received strong support from the country's government. It is understood that South Korean President Yoon Seo-yeol instructed the South Korean Sports Ministry to "try to win the right to host the Asian Cup." After all, the last time South Korea held the Asian Cup was in 1960.
The Korean Football Association said that although the country has the status of an Asian football powerhouse and has entered the World Cup finals for 10 consecutive times, they have not held the Asian Cup for a long time. Therefore, if they can successfully bid for the Asian Cup, it will help enhance the country's image, expand football infrastructure, revitalize the economy, and win the championship.
As of now, in addition to Indonesia and South Korea having officially applied for the 2023 Asian Cup, the Football Associations of Australia, Japan and Qatar have also expressed their intention to host the event. (For more news, please follow Yangchengpai pai.ycwb.com)
