The prosperous Anhai Ancient Town once became Zheng Chenggong's counterattack base for "anti-Qing and restoring Ming Dynasty". In the town, there are two mountains of Longshan and Fengshan confrontation. Under such a Fengshui treasure land, there is naturally a thousand-year-old temple. Because it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain, it is called "Longshan Temple".
Legend, the temple was first built during the Eastern Han Dynasty. An ancient monk from India came to Anhai with a grain of sand and saw a huge camphor tree in the area. The camphor tree with lush branches and leaves was covered with thick shade during the day, shaded by the people passing by.
At night, the ancient camphor tree will emit dazzling light. A grain of sand from the monk thinks that this is the manifestation of Buddhism, so he made a great wish to build a temple here.
Camphor tree was originally a good wood used by the ancients to build houses and statues, so the monk invited craftsmen to carve the main trunk of the camphor tree into a solemn Thousand-handed Thousand-Eyed Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the branches were used as building materials for temples and temples.
Until today, the Guanyin statue carved from camphor wood has become a rare "national treasure".
"The Buddha's land was first raised in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the Southern Dynasties rebuilt the gods." This legend was also written on the stone pillars in the temple.
Naturally, this is probably just a legend. According to research, Longshan Temple was first built around the Huangjian period of the Sui Dynasty. It was originally named "Puxian Temple" and "Tianzhu Temple". Because the main hall worships Guanyin, it is also called "Guanyin Temple" by the locals.
: Longshan Temple has a history of more than 1,400 years. The temple contains the drums from the Sui Dynasty and the beam engraved with "Cheng Zhijie, the Duke of Lu in the 13th year of Zhenguan in the Great Tang Dynasty, donated 1,000 yuan for the supervision of the renovation", which all confirm the ancient history of the temple.

Longshan Temple has gone through thousands of years of wind and frost, but it still stands tall and has become fresh for a long time, leaving behind many magical stories.
During the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates rampant on the southeast coast, Anhai Ancient Town was on the verge of the sea, and people suffered a lot. In the Heavenly King Hall of Longshan Temple, someone carved a line of words to describe the legend of the Buddha's appearance.
At that time, a group of Japanese pirates attacked Anhai and burned their houses, and were discussing the burning of Longshan Temple. Suddenly, a group of black bees were densely packed, and the vast crowd of Japanese pirates were hibernating. Suddenly, "the bandits knelt down and kowtowed, and returned after surrendering their crimes."
Li Guangdi, a Grand Secretary of Wenyuan Pavilion in Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and a native of Anxi County, heard about this and praised him as the "Buddha in Anhai".
Later, the Qing court fought against the Ming Zheng regime entrenched in Taiwan. In order to prohibit coastal residents from secretly supporting the Zheng family, it ordered the sea to be closed and moved to the border, and the board was not allowed to go to sea.
The Qing court sent troops to burn coastal houses and temples inhumanely to cut off people's longing for their homeland. They moved to the border until Shi Lang recovered Taiwan Island and gradually abandoned them.
When people who had been away from their hometown for decades returned to their hometown, they were surprised to find that Longshan Temple was still standing alone under a ruin. Finally, Shi Lang led his tribe members to donate money to rebuilt this thousand-year-old ancient temple.
With the migration of Fujianese, the incense of Longshan Temple is also spread all over the country and abroad. In just one place in Taiwan Province, there are more than 400 "Longshan Temples" divided into spirits, with Anhai Longshan Temple as its ancestral home.
The most famous ones are Lugang Longshan Temple, known as the "Forbidden City of Taiwan", and Mengjia Longshan Temple.
