PAN AM is the abbreviation of Pan American World Airlines - it is one of the most iconic airlines in world history. But now it is a Korean fashion and lifestyle brand.
Seoul-based fashion company SJ Group is a manufacturer of global brands such as Kangol and Boody, which snapped up a license to create a wide range of Pan American merchandise, from clothing and accessories to home products and daily necessities targeting the country's savvy millennial . and Gen Z demographics. With the opening of brand-store stores nationwide, an independent flagship store opened in Shengshui, an emerging shopping district in the capital of South Korea. The Pan American store covers an area of 330 square meters on the ground floor of a universal four-story industrial building and sees interior design created by the SJ Group design team. The structure has been completely redeveloped and now sees a blind facade and a bright blue shaded tube tunnel entrance on the street. Inside
, the famous Pan American logo was updated in 1971 by graphic designers Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar. The interior design of the shop is inspired by the blue and white paint of Pan American aircraft, making full use of the original concrete shell of the building. A large portion of the floor is covered with steel and glass grids, and what is seen in the place is a scaffolding-style setting and a variety of matching metal furniture. A slender concrete block sales and display stand lined on one side of the store, similar to the airport check-in counter , with a big pothole in the background. In the middle of the retail space, shoppers can rest easy between shopping spree while indulging in noscoop’s specially made Pan American ice cream mix.
The new Pan American store offers the brand’s men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and bags, covering three collections – first of all, Clipper, which includes a range of modern casual clothing inspired by airline traditions. The Journey series combines sportswear aesthetics with functionality, including products that are waterproof, windproof, antibacterial and thermally insulated. Last but not least, Life is a city-friendly casual collection for everyday use. In addition, the store sells collaborative merchandise and selected products from other brands and artists, including 1064 Studio, RAWROW, tuff, playmoby and Nuri Yeon.
