LG followed the launch of the highly acclaimed G Watch R and once again focused on the circular smart watch. The Urbane series smart watch officially launched by LG at MWC 2015 continues the circular design and also adds a style that supports LTE network, which makes it the first smart watch to support LTE network.
First of all, it is important to clarify at the beginning. Although LG Watch Urbane and Urbane LTE are only the three words LTE in terms of names, Urbane runs the common Android Wear operating system, while Urbane LTE runs the LG smart wearable platform system, which should be based on WebOS.
On Urbane LTE, a series of applications are pre-installed, including the camera program. Since Urbane LTE itself does not have a camera, the main purpose of this program is to control the camera of the phone for taking pictures, and since it is not running Android Wear, it also loses the support of Google Now. LG's solution to this is to write a voice assistant called QVoice to replace Google Now.
As for the support for smartphones, both Urbane watches currently only support Android operating systems. LTE models require users to install LG's own Watch Manager on their phones. The regular version can directly use the Android Wear application.
For Urbane LTE, users can call out their phone numbers directly from their watches or use PTT intercoms to make calls. The LTE model has a built-in microphone and speaker, and can also send and receive text information. If it is convenient to use, it naturally needs to rely on a voice assistant to ensure it. In addition to the LTE module, Urbane LTE also has NFC mobile payment function, which is not available on the Urbane standard version.
If the LTE and non-LTE versions are compared together, the difference between the two is very obvious. The Urbane LTE body weighs 115 grams, which feels like a high-end watch and the thickness is relatively objective. As for the ordinary version of Urbane, the weight is only 45 grams, which is even lighter than the G Watch R. People who are used to wearing watches may think that the ordinary version is too light.
In addition, the LTE version of the watch strap is made of plastic, while the ordinary version is originally a genuine leather strap, and the strap is replaceable. The clasp designs of the two are also different. The traditional clasp used in the ordinary version, and the LTE version uses a folding clasp made of stainless steel.

The LTE version has a built-in 700 mAh battery - it is the smartwatch with the largest battery capacity in history. LTE version has three control buttons on the side of the body. The button in the middle is used to switch between the display surface and the display application. Below is the return button. As for the normal version, the design of the body button is exactly the same as other Android Wear watches, just one power button.
For those who don't want to bring their phones while jogging, both Urbane have a virtual fitness coach and GPS chip built-in to monitor users' running or cycling. The built-in heart rate sensor and barometer can also be slightly monitored for mountaineering.
LG even adds built-in action sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes and compass for golf enthusiasts, while the processor is a regular 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB of memory, Bluetooth 4.0 in LTE styles, as well as NFC and Wi-Fi.The Urbane smartwatch with
standard version looks pretty good. Maybe it will be one of the best smartwatches on this MWC. As for the Urbane LTE smartwatch, the appearance is indeed cool, but LG has only announced its local launch plan in South Korea. As for whether LG will push it to the global market, there is no news yet.
