After Lin Zhijian withdrew from the election of Taoyuan mayor in Taiwan, many academic papers of politicians on the island were dug out and reviewed again. The doctoral thesis published by Tsai Shiying, a candidate for Keelung mayor of the Democratic Progressive Party, when she was studying at the "Urban Planning Institute" of Taipei University, was also suspected of plagiarism, and the plagiarism was quite serious.
Keelung City Council candidate Jiang Xinyi, as well as Taipei City Council candidates Chen Zhiming, Liu Shijie and others revealed at a press conference on September 1 that Cai Shiying's doctoral thesis was suspected of serious plagiarism.
Chen Zhiming claimed that after comparing and reviewing Cai Shiying's paper page by page, it was found that there were three problems in this paper. On the one hand, the paper "mosaic" plagiarized nearly 30 documents, with a plagiarism rate of up to 33%, and 25 of them were not included in the reference documents; on the other hand, the paper also openly copied the content that Lin Youchang, the mayor of Keelung, once submitted a book to the media, which was bold; in addition, the paper actually copied the content on the Baidu encyclopedia in mainland China word by word.
Liu Shijie also pointed out that there are only 903 words on the second page of the paper, but 493 words were copied from Baidu Encyclopedia. He angrily denounced that what Cai Shiying did was simply to trample on academic dignity. Liu Shijie questioned that if a politician violates even the most basic integrity, what else can the people believe in him?
Jiang Xinyi also called on Cai Shiying to explain the people on the island about this matter, instead of blindly using so-called "political smear" and pretending to be fine.
The island's senior media person Huang Yangming also found that Professor Zhou Zhilong, who guided Cai Shihui, openly served as the examination committee member during the guidance period and during the oral examination. There are great problems in this, which seriously violates fairness and justice. He suggested that Cai Shiying should not make unnecessary struggles, not learn from Lin Zhi and persistently, and come out to apologize immediately.
In fact, after experiencing Lin Zhijian's "failure", the DPP authorities obviously learned their lessons and no one came out to support them again.
First, the leader of the DPP authorities, Tsai Ing-wen, was caught in doubt about "real and fake doctoral", and the academic incompetence has not been explained clearly yet; then, the two papers of Lin Zhijian, the candidate for Taoyuan mayor of the DPP and the "Little Ying Boy" supported by Tsai Ing-wen, were "hammered" and finally withdrew from the election in shame; now, Tsai Shiying, the candidate for Keelung mayor of the DPP, has once again staged a plagiarism farce. Even if he tried every means to argue, he would probably not be able to escape a "true" ending.
It seems that the academic incompetence within the DPP is "transcendence from generation to generation", and even "better than the best"!
