AFP reported that the Swiss Attorney's Office (OAG) issued a statement today saying that Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Jerome Valcke were prosecuted for "involving the media broadcast rights of multiple events in the World Cup and FIFA Confederations Cup."

Algelefi, who is the owner of a TV sports channel in Kada, is suspected of improper gifts to Wack, including allowing Wack to use a luxury house for free of rent to obtain broadcast rights for important sports events such as the World Football Championship. Wacker is suspected of receiving bribes by granting broadcast rights.

Prosecutors' investigation found that Wacker purchased a villa in Sardinia Island, Italy from a third party. Later, Algelefi took over the villa through a company, and the head payment of about 500,000 euros (about NT$3, 416.39 million) that Wacker had paid was refunded.

The statement mentioned that Wack then obtained exclusive rights to the villa from Algelefi. Before FIFA suspended the property, WACKER had used the villa for 18 months, "without paying rent estimated at 900,000 to 1.8 million euros."

According to the statement, Algelefi was charged with "inciting Wacker to commit a crime of aggravating mismanagement."
