From 1992 to 2002, 35-year-old Peng Yuzhong was engaged in road construction in Guangzhou and Fujian. Even if the money for road construction was still far short of money, he took the initiative to find the county transportation bureau and other competent departments to seek project funds and lead the villagers to build the road. In just two months, the village road was repaired, and it only cost more than 50,000 yuan.

Shunshui Village is located in the "East Gate" of Yingguang Township. It is surrounded by mountains and water and has rich tourism resources. The village has a population of 2,705, 93 poor households and 401 people, the village has arable land area of 1,800 mu and the forest area of 1,800 mu.
In 2014, Shunshui Village was included in a county-level poverty-stricken village. This was not only an opportunity but also a challenge for Peng Yuzhong. In the same year, it was rated as a tourism development poverty alleviation village. In 2018, it won the honorary title of "Xinshao County Beautiful Rural Construction Village".

Shaoyang Houtu Agricultural Ecological Co., Ltd., founded in 2014, transfers 2,000 mu of land, engages in ecological agricultural planting and breeding, and realizes full mechanized production. It currently ranks third among rural enterprises in Shaoyang City, directly driving employment of 100 poor households in the village, and the industrial dividend "radiates" all villagers. Shuangqiao Professional Farming and Raising Cooperative has invested 2 million yuan and transferred more than 300 mu of land. It is also engaged in high-quality farming and farming. It is worth mentioning that both enterprises are demonstration bases for the development of modern agriculture in the county.
At the same time, Shunshui Village also vigorously attracts investment and successfully signed a mushroom planting cooperation agreement with a high-tech company in Shaoyang, investing more than 2 million yuan to pre-plant 20 mushrooms of about 30 mu. The project is currently under construction. In addition, Peng Yuzhong also advanced more than 200,000 yuan to develop village cold storage. He planned to store high-quality agricultural products in the village during peak season and go on the market during off-season to achieve staggered sales, which can also increase farmers' income.
"After I graduated from junior high school, the village arranged for Houtu to work.
