Star Air pointed out that in order to thank all walks of life for their support for Xingyu Airlines' successful launch, Zhang Guowei decided to preside over the presidency of the maiden flight on January 23, and personally took the Taoyuan-Macao round-trip flight on that day, and announced the Taoyuan-Macao flight schedule that day.

According to the aviation circle, Zhang Guowei is a well-known civil aviation person in Taiwan. He was the general manager and chairman of EVA Airlines. He is one of the few airline leaders who can fly aircraft, have an aircraft pilot license, and repair aircraft. When he was at EVA Airlines, he had the status of the captain of the Boeing 777 aircraft and would often fly flights in person. At the beginning of 2016, his father, Zhang Rongfa, founder of Evergreen Group, passed away. Zhang Rongfa originally appointed his youngest son, Evergreen Airlines chairman Zhang Guowei as the president of the group and everything under the name of Zhang Rongfa, but the three half-brothers strongly opposed it and finally "swept out" Zhang Guowei, so Zhang Guowei had to leave Evergreen and Evergreen Airlines sadly.
After being forced to leave EVA Airlines, in November 2016, Zhang Guowei announced that he had founded his airline and named it Xingyu Airlines. After three years of hard preparation, on December 11, 2019, Star Aviation officially obtained a civil aviation transportation industry license (AOC), and started selling tickets on December 16, and tickets for the three first flights were sold out on the same day.
Zhang Guowei, who was originally flying a Boeing 777 aircraft, was trained and officially obtained the Airbus A321neo captain license at the end of 2019. In October and December 2019, he personally went to Germany to fly two new Airbus A321neo aircraft back to Taiwan.
This upcoming maiden flight of Star Aerospace is Zhang Guowei's return to the front cabin on the 1413th day before the captain served passengers. Xingyu Aviation emphasized that Zhang Guowei shoulders the important task of a smooth and safe journey for all passengers, and personally takes on the flight to ensure the safety of flights. In the future, he will also provide considerate services and pleasant and comfortable journeys to meet every passenger.
It is understood that Star Aerospace has leased 10 Airbus A321neo, has received two new aircraft, and has picked up the third aircraft in mid-January 2020, and all A321neo will be in place in 2022. In addition, Star Aerospace has signed a contract with Airbus and spent US$6 billion to purchase 17 A350 wide-body passenger aircraft. It is expected to start delivery by the end of 2021 and be delivered in 2024. By then, Star Aerospace's fleet will reach 27, and its routes cover more than 20 waypoints including Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and North America. Zhang Guowei said that he would strive to build Star Aerospace into the "world's best airline."
