Hong Kong Palace Museum officially opened on July 2, setting off a wave of ticket grabbing. The Palace Museum also has exhibition halls on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the Three Places. People hope that the Palace Museum cultural relics in Beijing, Taipei and Hong Kong can be exchanged and exhibited in the future to give full play to the synergistic effect of promoting Chinese culture. Politics is temporary, but culture is forever. Cultural China is the umbilical cord of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the three regions, making the Forbidden City a carrier and regaining the cultural sentiment that was once submerged by politics.
Taipei's Forbidden City has long been a cultural banner and a holy place for the world to admire Chinese culture. In the past, it had a lot of contacts and cooperation with the Palace Museum in Beijing. Now, coupled with Hong Kong's "rise" as a "rise" can be said to be a fate to tie the knot of culture.
Hong Kong was once a place where "flowers and fruits drift" in cultural China. In 1949, the land of China changed its banner, and many intellectuals came to Xiangjiang. Well-known scholars Qian Mu , Tang Junyi , Mou Zongsan and others founded New Asia Academy on Guilin Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, Hong Kong. They inherited Chinese culture, held high the banner of cultural China, and retained the blood of Chinese culture in colonial cities, and became the predecessor of Chinese University of Hong Kong later.
However, in the development process of Chinese universities, Qian Mu and others were rejected. The internal administration of Chinese universities is mainly English and is ridiculed as "English University". But the most sad thing is that in recent years, the Hong Kong political movement has changed into a "de-Sinicization" movement, discriminating against mainland Chinese tourists and students, and launching the "Locust Exorcism Action", which is shocking. The Chinese University campus was once occupied by some anti-China students and blocked the road. The Chinese University was regarded as "successful". Although some rioters were arrested after the promulgation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, the remaining poison still exists. The key is to promote Chinese culture in Hong Kong and eliminate the sequelae of the 2019 black violence incident. The entire society must eliminate the anti-China ideology of "yellow silk".
Once upon a time, Taiwan was the fortress of Chinese culture. But now it is completely different. Taiwan’s green camp ruling authorities are fully promoting “de-Sinicization”. In Western proverbs, pouring bath water to throw away the baby and abandoning Taiwan’s most precious cultural wealth. However, in the past ten years, mainland China has been fully promoting Chinese culture, and all over the country are carrying forward the Chinese cultural traditions, becoming a strong contrast between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
This also casts huge variables in cross-strait relations. Taiwan’s impression in the global Chinese society and its image in the international community have suddenly changed. In the past, many Westerners had to come to Taiwan when they learned Chinese, but now they have all gone to mainland China. The key is that the Taiwanese authorities have de-sinicized textbooks in large quantities, greatly reducing classical literature such as classical Chinese and poetry; China's long history has become part of East Asian history. In the past, Qian Mu emphasized that studying Chinese history must have a kind of "warmness and respect", but such feelings have now declined in Taiwan and have even become the object of ridicule, which is "political incorrectness".
On the contrary, mainland China has vigorously promoted the historical tradition of Chinese culture in school education and social education. Not only does the textbook cover in-depth, but variety shows on TV, such as " Chinese Poetry Conference ", "Good Chinese Poetry", "Classic Songs and Spreads", "Chinese Treasures", and "Chinese in Classics", etc., are all high-level productions and are widely popular among the audience. This affected the atmosphere of the entire society, and even the fashionable and popular styles in the market have set off a "national trend", taking pride in pursuing the symbols and innovations of cultural traditions; Hanfu has become a popular costume, and various costume dramas and historical blockbusters that explore "human nature will not be broken" through time are popular.
This also subverted the past attitude towards Chinese history, rigidly regarded many traditional cultures as dregs, and simply satisfies everything. Now, the central government of emphasizes the need to fully restore and promote Chinese culture, which is equivalent to opening a treasure that has been abandoned for a long time and discovering those classical wisdom. From Nine-Rank Ten Schools to the Four Great Classics, from Confucian classics to Laozi and Zhuang’s philosophy of life, from Tang poetry and Song lyrics to Ming and Qing novels, there are profound insights from the Chinese nation everywhere, making important contributions to world civilization. How can modern Chinese people be in the blessing without knowing the blessing, and enter the treasure mountain and return empty-handed?
But the new generation of Taiwan was excluded from this treasure mountain by the green camp government. They could not have such a deep understanding of Chinese culture like their parents and were in a confused state of Chinese history. Taiwanese writer Wu Danru says her daughter doesn’t know who Sun Yat-sen is. This is because the unhealthy trend of pan-politicization blows to the campus. The innocent boy is deprived of the opportunity to understand Chinese history, and it also makes Taiwan's future masters deviate from their judgments on cross-strait relations. This is a crisis that education impacts politics, and it is also a situation that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait will reverse in the future.
However, the carrier of promoting Chinese culture must also transcend political struggles and return to the power of the people. It should not become a propaganda machine for the party and the country, but can demonstrate the power of the people and fight for a day in the arena of international ideology.
This is also an important moment for China to develop soft power. The return of Chinese traditional cultural wisdom in China is in line with China's pace of globalization. Both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the Three Places have found their new positioning in the scope of Chinese cultural rejuvenation and demonstrated the latest creativity of the Chinese nation.
