After the approval of the Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office, the Xiantao Municipal Government also signed an agreement with Hubei University of Economics to jointly build the "Xiantao Branch of the Cross-Strait Small and Medium Enterprises Development Research Institute". It aims to strengthen research on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises across the Taiwan Strait and promote the work of serving Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises in Xiantao City.
It is understood that as of now, there are 54 Taiwanese-funded enterprises above the scale such as Wangwang, Kangshu, Fujihe in Xiantao City, and Taiwanese enterprises have formed agglomeration effect in four major industrial fields such as food processing, machinery and electronics, textile and clothing and modern service industries. Taiwan's economic contribution rate to Xiantao reached 20%.
