On July 2, 2017, the 8th Red Bull X-Apls will make a comeback. 32 world-leading athletes from 21 countries will set off from Austria's Salzburg , crossing 7 sign-in points in 6 countries (including Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, and Slovenia, which joined the route for the first time) and arrive in Monaco. In these just 8 days, Christian Maurer took a paragliding 1,657 kilometers and hiked 410 kilometers off-road (nearly 10 marathons), and climbed a total of 4,096 meters, which is a real iron man. competition will begin in the historic Mozart Square in Salzburg, Austria. Athletes will travel through Salzburg to the No. 1 sign-in point. The beautiful scenery of the fields of Salzburg will attract hundreds of fans to cheer for the athletes and watch them assemble them. Paragliding, start the first paragliding voyage.
Athletes will cross Austria all the way south in the next 157 kilometers of flight to the Mangat Paragliding landing point, located on the edge of Triglav National Park in Slovenia. Tragliff is the first sign-in point in Slovenia and is located above the highest peak in Slovenia, at an altitude of 2,864 meters. The new terrain near the sign-in point of Tragliff requires the contestants to adopt refreshing tactics and take the lead before the competition.

No. 6 sign-in point is 251 kilometers west of Matterhorn in southern Switzerland, which is also the longest distance between the race.
