1. Killed in morning exercise

 1 February 27, 1950. Guangzhou City.

The first Spring Festival in the 1950s came late, and this genius was the eleventh day of the first lunar month and Monday. For the military doctors at the Field Hospital of the 15th Corps of the People's Liberation Army in Xiaobei District, these two days are really enough for them to work hard. Just after midnight, a barracks (divised ancestral hall) collapsed in a unit of the 44th Army stationed in the suburbs. The sleeping officers and soldiers were buried in the ruins, and six people died on the spot and dozens of people were injured. Seventeen seriously injured were rushed to the Corps Hospital for treatment. The military doctors were busy until after six o'clock in the morning. Seventeen seriously injured were finally out of danger. The leader arranged three military doctors to be on duty, and the rest went to rest. Unexpectedly, before the military doctor on duty had time to eat something to fill his stomach, a noise came from far away with the sound of rapid footsteps, and a bloody man lying on the door panel was lifted in.

At the beginning of the founding of New China, local wars with the Kuomintang army were still underway. Coupled with the large-scale bandit suppression, the People's Liberation Army troops still had a certain number of casualties. Therefore, according to regulations, field hospitals usually do not provide medical services to local areas. However, for the sake of revolutionary humanitarianism and military-civilian relations, once an emergency patient comes to ask for help, the military hospitals generally will not refuse, and even do not ask whether the patient has the ability to pay medical expenses. This is the case with the wounded who was carried here now. The people carried and escorted were all ordinary people. It was undoubtedly the common people who looked at the wounded's clothes and dressed, but the hospital said nothing. The military doctor immediately took the patient and sent the injured directly to the operating room.

When the injured were carried onto the operating table, his heartbeat, breathing, and pulse had stopped and his pupils had no response. Despite this, the military doctors still tried their best to rescue them, but in the end they were still powerless. When the military doctor opened the operating room door, there were two more people outside. They were not ordinary people, but criminal police officers from the Xiaobei Branch of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau who rushed to the field hospital after receiving the report from the masses. The military doctor briefly introduced the rescue process to the criminal police and led the two into the operating room to see the deceased. The criminal police immediately reported the situation to the branch office using the telephone number of the field hospital. After a while, Li Baoshan, the captain of the criminal investigation team of the branch, and Forensic Jiang from the Municipal Bureau, hurried to the hospital.

Doctor Jiang dissection of the body in the operating room of the field hospital. The deceased was stabbed in the abdomen by a sharp knife, causing the liver to rupture and death. The murder weapon was a double-edged sharp knife with a blade about 2.5 cm wide. The deceased's clothes, shoes and hats were intact, and there were no other wounds on the body or scars such as damage to the subcutaneous capillaries. Forensic Dr. Jiang therefore believed that the deceased was suddenly attacked without any precautions and was killed with one knife.

Who is the deceased? There is only a bunch of keys in his pocket, and there is no other item that can indicate his identity, such as documents, wallets, etc., so it is difficult to determine for the moment. When the two criminal police officers who first arrived at the hospital were making records, the family of the deceased was accompanied by Chen Jingzhai, director of Guanduan Police Station. When the criminal police saw Director Chen, they were shocked: Could it be that the deceased is not an ordinary citizen?

The criminal police's estimate is correct. The victim of this murder case is indeed not an ordinary person, but an enlightened gentleman -

The deceased was named Zhang Youju, and his ancestral home is Guangzhou. Guangzhou is China's earliest foreign trade port. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the court stipulated that foreign trade was "limited to Guangzhou", so the famous "13 Guangzhou Trading" was established - a commercial bank that franchised foreign trade, also known as public banks, foreign companies, foreign goods banks, and foreign companies. The name is "Thirteen Lines", but it is not a fixed Thirteen. The ancestors of the Zhang family were Yake (agents) who dealt with the Thirteenth House. They were passed down from generation to generation until the 25th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1820), when opium and various commercial smuggling trade emerged, the Thirteenth House began to decline, so the Zhang family started smuggling. After working for more than ten years, I made a fortune, so I washed my hands and started a legal business. By the Guangxu period, the Zhang family had already entered the list of wealthy businessmen in Yangcheng. Zhang Youju's father Zhang Zhiying lacks interest in doing business and just likes to study. The family simply trained it deliberately, but Zhang Zhiying had limited talent and had been standing still on the ground in the fame of Juren. Fortunately, the family had money, so I spent money to donate a sixth-rank candidate to him. After waiting for a few years, I spent money to make up for the actual vacancies and worked as a sixth-rank official in Shanghai Customs. Zhang Youju was born when his father was an official in Shanghai.

Zhang Zhiying was restless. After working in the customs for ten years, he felt more and more bored, so he resigned from his official position. What are you going to do? Doing business? No, he became interested in the gang and made a group of gang members. Later, the striking figures of the 1911 Revolution, such as Tao Chengzhang, Chen Qimei, Song Jiaoren, etc., were all his friends. After a while of trouble, influenced by his friends, he traveled to Japan to study and brought his wife and children together. In Japan, Zhang Zhiying met Sun Yat-sen, participated in the establishment of the Tongmenghui, and also donated 12,000 silver dollars to support the revolution.

When Zhang Zhiying was carrying out the above activities, Zhang Youju was in the stage of youth growing up as a young man, and he also had the same restless personality as his father. Besides, even when he was engaged in revolutionary work in Japan, he was under surveillance by the Japanese police, and was a secret activity just like in China. Therefore, sometimes minors were required to send letters and supplies or help each other, so Zhang Zhiying guided Zhang Youju to participate in some activities. Zhang Youju is very interested in this kind of adventure and is particularly active in running around. In 1908, Chiang Kai-shek went to Japan to study and joined the Tongmenghui. Zhang Youju, three years younger than him, was ordered to provide help to Chiang.

On the eve of the Xinhai Revolution, Zhang Zhiying, who followed Sun Yat-sen in exile overseas, was ordered to return to Guangzhou to prepare to establish a secret stronghold. Unfortunately, due to the fatigue of the journey, he died of a cerebral hemorrhage before he could take action. Soon, Sun Yat-sen became the interim president of the Republic of China. Recalling Zhang Zhiying's contribution, he posthumously awarded him the "General Yilie". The 22-year-old Zhang Youju was elected as a member of the Guangdong Provincial Assembly. In fact, Zhang Youju didn't have much interest in politics. He just attended a preparatory meeting and resigned from his position and changed to industrial development. He founded one trading company, one factory, and one farm. He not only managed it himself, but also went to the workshop and the fields to participate in labor. However, his restless personality still did not change. Like his father, he was very interested in gang activities. With his reputation and background at this time, the gangs were very welcome. Not only in Guangdong, but also in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu and Shanghai gangs were in contact with him.

According to Zhang Youju's conditions, it will definitely be quite easy if he wants to do business and make a fortune. However, his concept of making money is sometimes clear and sometimes confused. When he is confused, he often misses the opportunity. Although he makes a lot of money when he is clear, he is generous by nature and helps friends and conducts charity, and his savings are limited. On the eve of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Youju's industry was still one of the companies, factories and farms. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, its companies and factories were destroyed in air strikes, and the farm was requisitioned by the Japanese army as a military horse farm. When the Japanese army learned about Zhang Youju's early experience in traveling to Japan and his relationship with the Kuomintang government officials, they were ashamed of treasures. They sent personnel to come to the door several times to ask him to come out to serve as a pseudo-position. Wang Jingwei and Chen Bijun said that they were also familiar with him, and cooperated with the Japanese army to send repeated letters and visits, asking him to participate in the "curve-to-state saving". Zhang Youju's attitude is to receive guests diligently; receive gifts and return gifts, offset each other; and reply promptly when receiving letters. The etiquette is absolutely in place, but the matter is rejected.

With Zhang Youju's social relations, he can do something that seems more difficult than climbing the sky in the eyes of others. Therefore, he often accepts help from all parties - the underground party of the Communist Party of China, guerrillas, the Kuomintang's "Military Control" and other secret agencies, gangs and even bandits and robbers, or funding, rescue, cover, or transfer, and provides assistance to the best of his ability. However, after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he was very disgusted with the corruption and dictatorship of the Kuomintang, and began to lean significantly towards the CCP and the democratic progressive camp in terms of political views. After the liberation of Guangzhou in October 1949, Ye Jianying, who served as the first chairman of the provincial government of Guangdong Province, invited the 20 democratic figures and patriotic gentlemen to attend the symposium and have been invited to the banquet for the first time, Zhang Youju ranked seventh.

The new regime values Zhang Youju quite seriously. He was originally planned to be a member of the Provincial CPPCC to participate in politics and make contributions to the construction of a new China. However, Zhang Youju was in poor health and suffered from hypertension for a long time. He had a stroke in the first three months of the liberation of Guangzhou. Fortunately, the treatment was timely, so he did not suffer any sequelae. Therefore, Zhang Youju, who was originally indifferent to politics and power, declined the invitation from the new regime, saying that the most important thing for him is to take care of his body. Only by taking good care of his body can he consider other things. He accepted the advice of an old Chinese doctor that in addition to paying attention to diet, he also exercises appropriately, and went for a walk in the nearby small park - Xiaoyiyuan twice a day. The place where he was killed was near the back door of the park.

After Zhang Youju fell to the ground, he was soon discovered by two people who were practicing in the morning. The two of them exclaimed loudly, attracting many passers-by. At that time, Zhang Youju had not yet died, but could no longer speak. Everyone quickly found a door panel to carry him to a nearby field hospital. Someone else rushed to the police station to report and notify Zhang Youju's family.

Chen Bo, director of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and director of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, learned that Zhang Youju was killed, and immediately ordered to his deputy and deputy director of the Municipal Bureau Chen Kun: A special task force consists of a capable criminal police officer from the Municipal Bureau and Xiaobei Branch to start investigating the case and arrest the murderer as soon as possible.

Chen Kun acted immediately. Before Li Baoshan, the captain of the criminal investigation team of Xiaobei Branch, had already arrived. As soon as Chen Kun saw Li Baoshan, he told him: "You have been appointed as the deputy leader of the special task force, and cooperate with the team leader and deputy director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Municipal Bureau to carry out the investigation of this case."

The gains from on-site investigation are only better than nothing. Outside the back door of Xiaoyi Garden is a six-foot-wide walkway connected to the road. On one side is a wasteland overgrown with weeds, and on the other side is the military supplies warehouse of the former Kuomintang army, which is received by our army. The remaining supplies inside are ready to be handed over to the local area later, leaving seven or eight disabled soldiers to guard it. Walking over the other side of the road, turning along the high wall of the military warehouse, twenty meters away was the back door of Xiaoyi Garden. Zhang Youju encountered the murderer after turning a corner. The scene was mud, because it rained and was a little wet yesterday evening, and pedestrians would leave footprints when passing by. Unfortunately, after discovering the victim, there were many people watching the fun. When Director Chen and police officer Xiao Zhou received the call from the police station, the footprints on the mud were already stacked and could not be distinguished at all.

The criminal police visited several disabled soldiers who were left at the military warehouse and asked them if they had heard any movement. These disabled soldiers have received notices to retire and return home, saying that they are guarding the warehouse, which is actually a temporary resettlement. Although they still have weapons on hand, they no longer have to undergo training and do not stand guard during the day and night. When the murder occurred on the dirt road separated by a wall from the warehouse, they had not yet gotten up. Young people sleep well, but have they heard any movement?

After hearing Li Baoshan’s brief report on the above situation, Deputy Director Chen Kun asked the deceased what items were carrying, such as wallets, watches, etc. Li Baoshan said he had never contacted his family and was not clear yet. So, Chen Kun ordered the driver to drive to the field hospital to pick up one or two family members. Here, the detective entered Xiaoyi Garden and asked every morning practitioner whether he had seen suspicious people when he came to the park that day and within the previous three days. After a visit, nothing was gained.

At this moment, Chen Kun's driver had already picked up Zhang Youju's daughter Zhang Zhiqiong. According to Zhang Zhiqiong, his father always carried the following items when he went out: a wallet, 18K gold watch, a gold pen, and a key. He also wore a 24K gold plate ring on his left ring finger. When he was sent to the field hospital, he only had a bunch of keys left on him. The criminal police immediately asked the people who were still on the scene who first discovered that something happened to Zhang Youju and carried Zhang Youju to the hospital. Some of them said they didn't pay attention, some said they definitely didn't wear rings, and some said they definitely didn't have pens in their pockets. Therefore, the criminal police initially determined that the above items carried by the deceased were plundered by the criminal.

Deputy Director Chen Kun attended the task force's first case analysis meeting, but he did not express any opinions, but just sat aside and listened quietly to everyone's speech. The criminal police basically agree, believing that this case is a murder case with the purpose of seeking money. According to forensic examination, the criminal should have been ambushed at the corner of the wall before Zhang Youju arrived. When he arrived, Zhang Youju blocked him head-on and threatened him to hand over the money with a knife. Zhang Youju might have tried to resist or wanted to shout, but in desperation the criminal pushed the sharp knife aimed at his abdomen forward, quickly robbed after he fell to the ground, and then fled. Judging from the method of committing the crime, the criminal should have a criminal record.

The task force believes that the criminal lies at the scene to rob Zhang Youju, which means that he has already confirmed the target of the crime. Therefore, the criminal may have been on the Xiaoyiyuan or the road from the house to Xiaoyiyuan a few days before the attack. This is a direction of investigation; in addition, it is to control Zhang Youju's robbed items and investigate whether there are any gangsters and other guys who have become rich and squandered.

  2. Discover the weapon

The task force has a retained old criminal policeman named Mai Darong, who is in his early forties and has been doing criminal investigation work for twenty-two years. If this person is put in the present sixty years later, he should belong to the criminal investigation intelligence line. However, when this case occurred, the division of labor for criminal investigation was not so detailed, so although he spent most of his time on criminal investigation and intelligence work, he was still a major criminal policeman. Whether in the old regime or the new regime police system, in addition to intelligence, he also had to squat, chase and search like other criminal policemen. However, Mai Darong is famous for his intelligence, so after the liberation of Guangzhou, the top leader of Guangdong Public Security Chen Bo met him, encouraged him, and then sent him to Chen Kun, one of the deputy directors of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau. This time, Chen Kun was ordered to preside over the investigation of Zhang Youju's murder case. When considering the candidates for the task force, he naturally thought of Mai Darong and called him to participate in the special investigation.

Midarong does have a set of criminal intelligence. The criminal police officers of the task force were ordered to separate the control or find clues. The next day, when they were at work on the morning of March 1, Mai Darong reported a clue to the team leader Tan Zude: There was a secret prostitute named Shi Jingjuan in Huifu District. Last night, after watching the show with a few sisters, she said that she had encountered a good thing. A gangster who had been turned away by her because she asked for a discount was actually a gold watch.

Tan Zude immediately asked: "Is it indeed a gold watch? Has anyone seen it?"

Mai Darong said: "More than one person saw it. At that time, the women had passed it on to each other."

Tan Zude immediately ordered Shi Jingjuan to be secretly invited to the Public Security Bureau.

Shi Jingjuan, thirty years old, is from a suburban Guangzhou. She was born in a peasant family. Her original surname was Huang. She adopted a boss in the seafood business in the city of Guangzhou and then took the surname Shi with her godfather. Boss Shi and his wife did not have children and treated Shi Jingjuan as their biological daughter. Therefore, when she was a child, Shi Jingjuan lived a much more comfortable life than her children of the same age in her hometown and rural areas. Boss Shi also provided her with school until she graduated from elementary school. This level of education was already considered acceptable at that time. Then, Shi Jingjuan helped do some pounds and accounting work in her godfather’s seafood shop. After working for four years, Boss Shi has had bad luck. In the autumn of 1938, the Japanese army invaded Guangzhou and his seafood shop was burned. The couple and Shi Jingjuan had to go to the countryside. Fortunately, they still had savings, but their quality of life plummeted. The following year, 19-year-old Shi Jingjuan married Tong Danian, the son of Tong Laocai in the same village. Tong Dainian is a Western doctor. In his early years, he went to Japan to learn medical skills. After returning to China, he opened a clinic. After the Japanese army invaded Guangzhou, two Japanese military doctors were classmates when Tong Dainian was studying in Japan. The two came to invite her, and Tong Dainian went to the Japanese military hospital to work as a military doctor. This situation was relatively rare at the time and caused a lot of discussion, and he was called a traitor.

Two years later, Tong Danian went to the front line of Guangxi with the Japanese field hospital, and soon the news of his disappearance came. Then, Boss Shi and his wife died of plague one after another, and Shi Jingjuan returned to Guangzhou alone to live. She took a job in an elementary school, teaching while waiting for her husband to come back. She waited until the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, and did not wait until Tong Danian's news. However, her teacher's job was lost because of her "traitor family member", so she had to live a small business. With spiritual emptiness and material deficiency, she started a secret prostitution after she looked a little pretty.

The people in Guangzhou who like to look for flowers and willows were quite interested in Shi Jingjuan, so they came to the door one after another. However, Shi Jingjuan has some special considerations for the recipients. First, the charges are not low and there is no fixed price. She goes with the market and the price of the brothel has also increased. Second, she has a choice to meet the client. She is disliked by those who are willing to pay several times of the money, but she will be rejected. Gradually, Shi Jingjuan had several relatively fixed objects and received those hosts in one month. Because her income is pretty good, she stopped doing a small business and made money by selling her flesh. When she didn't accept customers, she would drink tea and chat with a group of sisters who were in the same industry with her. In her own words, her life was also very nourishing.

However, this kind of nourishment was discounted after the liberation of Guangzhou. This is not the interference of the people's government. At the beginning of the founding of the country, everything is in chaos. The government has no time to ban brothels, let alone deal with secret prostitutes like Shi Jingjuan. More than half of her original regular customers were military and police spies, or gangsters and bullies. When new and old regimes changed, such characters either fled or were caught in the bureau. Even if they were lucky enough to not be included in the French Open, they would never have the will of freedom. They would not have time to hide in the world, so how could they dare to engage in secret prostitutes? In this way, Shi Jingjuan's income was greatly reduced, so she had to lower her value. The person who was originally disliked and was rejected was reluctant to accept it, and the one who paid a lower price also allowed her to enter. As soon as such a rumor spread, more and more people came to visit the door.

Half a month ago, a young gangster came. The man's surname was Wang. When he was a child, he suffered from yellow ringworm due to dysfunction when he was a child, which is what the people call "sleptic dysentery", so he got the nickname "sleptic dysentery". This person is quite acquainted with Shi Jingjuan. More than ten years ago, when Shi Jingjuan just married Tong Dainian, Wang Laizi's head was not cured yet. She often went to Tong's clinic to ask Tong Dainian for treatment. Shi Jingjuan was helping her husband do odd jobs in the clinic at that time, so she naturally had some contact with Wang Laizi. Later, the situations of these two people underwent unexpected changes. Shi Jingjuan became a secret prostitute from a doctor's wife and a primary school teacher, while Wang Laizi turned from a tea shop to a gangster.

Wang Laizi heard that Shi Jingjuan had become a secret prostitute and became interested in this "Sister Shi" who was five or six years older than him, so he came to ask for a happy relationship. He was willing to pay, but he was short of money and wanted to discuss a discount with Shi Jingjuan. As for Shi Jingjuan, when she thought of this guy who had suffered from leprosy, she disliked her appetite, so she kept Wang Laizi out on the grounds that she had too little money. This kind of thing happens often to Shi Jingjuan. If you drive someone away, you will forget it in a blink of an eye. Unexpectedly, Wang Laizi was obsessed with her. She suddenly came to the door yesterday afternoon and took out a 18K gold watch to give it to her. This is naturally the prostitution fund. No one has visited Shi Jingjuan these days, and I couldn't help but feel moved when I saw this cash quota that could obviously be worth the funds for receiving customers several times. However, if there is the conditions, she told Wang Laizi that it would be the first time today and I will not receive it in the future!

Li Baoshan, deputy head of the task force, went over and over again and again to look at the gold watch brought by Mai Darong, and determined that it was a real person worth some money. He thought that this watch might be the one that Zhang Youju was robbed, so he asked Mai Darong: "Did that Wang Laizi tell the woman surnamed Shi about the origin of this watch?"

Mai Darong said, "I asked, and she said she didn't ask others."

It's time to investigate Wang Laizi. This person lives in the same area as Maidarong, which is under the jurisdiction of two police stations, but their residence is only seven or eight minutes away. Mai Darong took two criminal police officers to Guanduan Police Station first. After inquiring, the police officers at the police station knew that Wang Laizi was the man. This 23-year-old young man was originally a tea shop. He caught a fire in the tea shop six years ago. In fact, the fire was not big. However, when the fire was put out, the faucet was always sprayed. The fire was extinguished and all the tea was reimbursed. Wang Laizi's father, Boss Wang, was angry and anxious. He fell seriously ill. When he was cured, his family's savings were almost spent. In this way, Wang Laizi, who was in the second year of junior high school, was forced to drop out of school and asked someone to introduce him to find a job. But he was not a tranquil person and left after working for a few months. Afterwards, he made friends with a group of ruffians and started to commit extortion and cheat. His second-year junior high school culture was rare among the gangsters in the late 1940s, so he was responsible for hiding behind his back to make suggestions and shaking the goose-feather fan.

After the liberation of Guangzhou, the situation changed. The people's government supported the working people. The working people who were regarded as the targets of the crime were confident and dared to resist. Once a dispute arose, they would go to the police station. The police would definitely support the working people. The ruffians had no choice but to change their strategies and start stealing. The clues that have been obtained at present show that at least half of the 17 theft cases in the police station recently were related to Wang Laizi, the gang of ruffians.

The criminal police summoned Wang Laizi to the police station and asked him about finding Shi Jingjuan. He admitted it immediately. After saying that, he seemed to be afraid that the criminal police would not understand the law. He emphasized that this behavior between him and Shi Jingjuan was legal, because neither of them had a spouse and was "loved". Maybe they would become husband and wife. The detective asked, "So what's going on with the gold watch?"

The owner asked in surprise: "What gold watch? I don't understand."

"Don't understand? You kid stretched out your ears and listened. We have Shi Jingjuan's statements here, and if necessary, you can let Shi Jingjuan confront you in person!"

Wang Laizi still looked dissatisfied, until he heard the detective said that there was his fingerprint on the watch, and then he admitted that he was indeed giving Shi Jingjuan as a prostitution fund. As for where he came from, he said it was sent by a buddy named Jin yesterday morning. It was not a gift, but used to repay gambling debts, and was priced at 300,000 yuan (this is an old version of RMB, 10,000 yuan is equivalent to one yuan in the new version of RMB, the same below). After he got it, he immediately went to the watch shop to estimate the price. The master said that it was indeed a 18K gold watch, German product, and the world price was about 80 to 1 million yuan.

The criminal police sent Wang Laizi to the police station and went to find the gangster named Jin. Jin Pizi admitted that this watch was the reward he received when he participated in a theft case. The detective felt a chill when he heard this and hurriedly asked when it happened. Jin Pizi calculated with his fingers and said that it had been at least one week. It was the case that two other puppets Zhuang Liangjin and Xin Yusheng invited him to a private house in Shamian. Zhuang and Xin climbed into the yard wall and entered the house. He didn't know what they had stolen, so he gave him the gold watch when he came out.

At that time, there were a total of twenty urban areas in Guangzhou, and Shamian was one of them. The criminal police immediately called the Shamian Branch to find out that the other party said that on the evening of February 22, there was indeed a household in the district that was stolen. The next morning, the next day, he discovered that seven items of stolen property were all jewelry, wallets, etc. placed on the bedside table of the male and female hostess before going to bed.

The criminal police asked the Shamian Branch to contact the owner. After identification, the gold watch was indeed the stolen property of the male owner. The case was handed over to the Shamian Branch for handling. For the criminal police of Shamian Branch, it was naturally an unexpected surprise, but for the criminal police of the special task force, this clue was cut off.

However, the task force obtained another clue that afternoon: someone picked up a sharp knife in the ditch in the Xiaoyi Garden!

Xiaoyiyuan was originally a private garden built by overseas Chinese in South China when they returned to their hometown in Guangzhou in 1900. It was not big and covered an area of two acres. In addition to a three-story villa, the rest of the garden were rockery pavilions, small bridges and flowing water, and a pond for fishing. The pond is connected to the river outside the garden with a ditch more than one meter wide to ensure that the pond has live water. When the Japanese army advanced to Guangzhou in the autumn of 1938, the owner of Xiaoyiyuan saw that the momentum was wrong and immediately took some care of the soft and family and went overseas. Soon the Japanese army invaded Guangzhou, and Xiaoyiyuan became the residence of senior Japanese officers until the end of the War of Resistance. After the Kuomintang took over the Xiaoyiyuan, it thought that the original owner would return to the country to live, so it did not deal with it. But when the original owner's family went there, it was like a kite with a broken string, and there was no trace again. A few months later, the receiving officer arranged for more than a dozen single subordinates to move into the park as a collective dormitory. However, it is said that the garden is often haunted, and they moved out after only living there for more than a month. The Kuomintang municipal government then decided to turn Xiaoyi Garden into a free and open park. At that time, there was no garden management agency, so it was assigned to the Social Bureau for management. After the liberation of Guangzhou, Xiaoyiyuan was still a park, and the new regime did not set up a social bureau, so it was handed over to the Civil Affairs Bureau for temporary management.

That afternoon, a tourist accidentally dropped the keychain into the ditch when he was visiting the park, and borrowed a long bamboo pole from the gardener Lao Wei to salvage it, but he accidentally got a sharp knife. Old Wei immediately thought of the murder case that happened outside the back door of Xiaoyiyuan the day before yesterday. He didn't care about the keys and rode his bicycle to the police station. The task force received a call from the police station, and the team leader Tan Zude immediately called the criminal police officers Zhu Shuisheng and Cheng Chi, and the three of them went to check together.

The sharp knife has a handle of twenty centimeters long, double edges, and is made of fine steel, extremely sharp. The autopsy report of Dr. Jiang said that the wound on the deceased was eleven centimeters deep and 2.5 centimeters wide. Tan Zude used a ruler to measure it from the tip of the knife to the hilt, and then the width was exactly 2.5 centimeters. So it was determined that this knife was the murder weapon used by the criminal to kill Zhang Youju. At that time, the criminal exploration methods and inspection techniques of the Public Security Bureau of New China were just like this, and it was impossible to conduct further scientific appraisals.

Tan Zude, Zhu Shuisheng and Cheng Chi accompanied the police from the police station to Xiaoyiyuan to check the ditch where the murder weapon was salvaged. The third detective thought about whether the murderer had thrown any other items into the ditch, so he took off his shoes and socks and went down into the ditch and took them carefully and found no other items.

That night, the task force held a meeting to discuss this, and unanimously agreed that after the crime committed the crime, the criminal did not escape immediately, but entered the park through the back door, threw the weapon into the ditches, and then fled through the front door.

So, the task force found a new investigation direction: the whole team was dispatched to visit gardeners, morning practitioners, and residents, vendors and passers-by on the road outside the front gate of the park, hoping to obtain clues to solve the case.

  3. Five suspects

The situation in this case is a bit special. When the task force formed by the municipal bureau carried out investigation, another task force composed of six investigators from the Political Security Department of the Provincial Public Security Department was also conducting an investigation.

As mentioned earlier, both generations of Zhang Youju and his son have extraordinary social relations. Needless to say, Zhang Youju's father, Zhang Zhiying, is quite good at Zhang Youju himself. He was a member of the Guangdong Provincial Assembly at the age of 22, but he lacked interest in politics and did not go further in his career. However, his social relations were so extensive and his powerful people had made many friends, which were rare among the commoners of the Republic of China. It is precisely because Zhang Youju is a commoner, so those friends with political backgrounds are not on guard against him. In the eyes of the United Front Department of the Communist Party of China, he is the kind of person who can speak and send letters to others. It is more suitable for carrying out united front work and playing a bridge role.

As early as the eve of the liberation of Guangzhou, Zhang Youju was encircled by Beijing to a list of democratic figures who could assist the government in secret united front work. Zhang Youju belonged to the "non-party progressive people". After the liberation of Guangzhou, relevant departments in Guangdong Province were commissioned by Beijing and sent personnel to visit Zhang Youju without publicizing it, and then made a secret appointment with him many times. After several conversations, the organization had a thorough understanding of Zhang Youju's political attitude and social relations, and believed that he could do some special and beneficial work for the country. And Zhang Youju is also very happy to contribute to the reunification of the motherland.

Two months ago, Guangdong, in accordance with Beijing's instructions, sent personnel to discuss with Zhang Youju about the feasibility of obtaining letters with the father-in-law of a Taiwan official with considerable power. Zhang Youju said that there is no problem asking him to communicate like this. According to the friendship between his two generations, especially his late father, the other party will most likely respond, and he is very willing to accept the mission and will do his best to do it. So, in late January, Zhang Youju quietly went to Hong Kong under the name of "visiting relatives and friends". The Zhang family has many relatives and friends in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and abroad, and there are more than 30 people in Hong Kong alone. He stayed in Hong Kong for a week and met some relatives and friends. One of them, Boss Yang, who opened a cloth shop, was the personal representative of the Taiwanese senior official in Hong Kong. The letter from Beijing was transferred to the official's father-in-law through Boss Yang.

After the Spring Festival, Zhang Youju received a letter from Hong Kong, which was written by the official’s father-in-law. The other party used obscure and tortuous words to express his willingness to do some matching work for the contact and communication between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Zhang Youju handed the letter to the liaison officer in Guangdong. A few days later, the liaison officer went to Zhang's house in the name of paying homage to Zhang Youju to convey Beijing's gratitude to him. For Zhang Youju, this is the country's affirmation of the work he has done, and he is naturally happy.

However, just when Zhang Youju was preparing to go to Hong Kong again according to the request of the liaison officer, he was in a surprise. The news of Zhang Youju's unfortunate murder was reported to Beijing on the same day. The relevant Beijing parties sent secret telegrams overnight, demanding that the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China instruct the Provincial Public Security Department's political security department to investigate the case. According to the order of the provincial party committee, the Political Security Department of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department selected investigators to form another special task force.

The focus of the investigation by the Provincial Department’s task force is whether Zhang Youju’s murder is related to the secret mission he has. The two task forces of the municipal bureau and the provincial department carry out their work and there is no horizontal contact between them.

Tang Bo, the head of the Provincial Department’s task force, was a security worker trained by the Central Social Department during the Yan'an period and a veteran subordinate of Chen Bo. He was originally engaged in political protection work in the Jiangxi Provincial Public Security Department. Last fall, the central government decided to appoint Ye Jianying to take charge of Guangdong. Chen Bo was transferred to Guangdong by Ye Jianying to preside over the public security work. Tang Bo then followed Chen Bo to Guangdong. At that time, the political security work in Guangdong Province was mainly Guangzhou City. After Guangzhou Jiefang participated in the takeover of the Guangdong Provincial Police Department under the old regime in October last year, Tang Bo presided over the investigation of two enemy special cases, made some achievements, and accumulated experience in fighting against the enemy on the hidden front under several new situations. This time, he was appointed to preside over the investigation of the Provincial Department's special task force of Zhang Youju's murder case. After researching with other investigators of the special task force, he believed that the focus of the investigation of the Provincial Department's special task force should be Zhang Youju's social situation from accepting the special mission issued by Beijing to the stage before his death, especially who he had dated after he was ordered to go to Hong Kong to carry out the secret mission. The provincial department task force believes that if Zhang Youju's murder is indeed related to the secret mission he has performed, then clues to solving the case can definitely be found from the victim's recent dating partner.

The Provincial Department’s task force immediately conducted a secret investigation into Zhang Youju’s social situation and her recent dating partner. Zhang Youju's social situation in his entire life has changed a lot: although he lacked interest in reform and governance when he was young, he was quite indifferent to his career, but due to his personality, family background and living environment, his social scope was wide and his interactions were very diverse. After resigning from his post as a provincial legislator, his interactions were mainly merchants; when he started a farm, he made friends with some intellectuals engaged in agricultural science research; during the War of Resistance Against Japan, his interactions decreased and he was forced to be politically shaped. As mentioned earlier, he was acquaintances with Wang Jingwei and Chen Bijun. Didn't the traitors in charge of Guangdong flock to him? After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Youju had fewer social activities due to health reasons and disappointment with the Kuomintang. After the founding of New China, Zhang Youju's physical condition was much worse than before. Although the stroke was cured, his mind was not very good during the recovery period, and even his words were often not fulfilled. Therefore, he basically stayed in the door and did not go out until 1950, his physical condition improved a little and he had contact with the outside world.

The Provincial Department’s task force investigated Zhang Youju’s family and learned that in the past two months, Zhang Youju had substantial contact with five people. The so-called "substantive contact" here refers to the other party who once visited the Zhang family in person.

The first person is named Wang Zhenhuan. This man is a relative of the Zhang family. He is the husband of Zhang Youju’s wife’s little sister and is a brother-in-law with Zhang Youju. Wang Zhenhuan is a graduate of a junior normal school, equivalent to a junior high school student. After graduation, he became an elementary school teacher. His family runs a tea shop, and his father Wang Yufeng is very good at appraisal of tea. When the Tea Industry Association encounters disputes over tea quality, he is one of the people who must be present.Ten years ago, when Boss Wang went to another place to purchase goods, he fell into the mountain stream and died. After his father's death, Wang Zhenhuan took over as the owner of a tea shop, known as "Boss Xiao Wang" in the industry. Boss Xiao Wang is very smart. He taught and learned both skills before. While working as a primary school teacher, he also carefully learned his father's ability to identify tea. In a few years, he became an amateur appraiser in the tea industry in Guangzhou (at that time, there was only amateur, no major).

The real relationship between Wang Zhenhuan and Zhang Youju began from then on. Before, although he was Zhang Youju's brother-in-law, he was eighteen years younger than Zhang. Zhang Youju didn't put him in the limit at all. He had no contacts except meeting during festivals. In recent years, Zhang Youju has focused on self-cultivation and quit smoking and drinking tea. With Zhang Youju's economic situation and taste, his material life is naturally high-end, and tea is no exception. So Wang Zhenhuan became his consultant. Of course, Zhang Youju would not visit this brother-in-law who was eighteen years younger than him. Wang Zhenhuan came here, at least three times a week. Sometimes when he got the best tea, he would come to the door at any time. Zhang Youju will not bother others in vain. Every time his brother-in-law comes, he will give him gifts, sometimes it is valuable. For example, a piece of Hui ink given before the Spring Festival is a thing of the Ming Dynasty.

The second one is a Chinese medicine doctor who is about 10 years younger than Zhang Youju, named Jia Sida. Jia Langzhong and Zhang Youju are family friends. His late father Jia Bixiang was a famous doctor in Yangcheng back then. He had a lot of tricks and complicated diseases caused by yin deficiency and excessive fire. Zhang Youju's father Zhang Zhiying had a hot constitution, so he was inseparable from Chinese medicine. Later, Zhang Zhiying went to Japan and even invited Jia Bixiang to open a clinic in Tokyo. The address of the clinic was chosen in the apartment building where he lived so that he could see a doctor at any time. Zhang Youju inherited his father's character and his physique, while Jia Sida inherited his father's medical skills. Therefore, the second generation of Zhang and Jia family continued to have friendly interactions.

Jia Sida is very concerned about Zhang Youju's health. In the past, even when Zhang Youju did not suffer from a stroke but only suffered from "three highs" such as hypertension, he proposed to let him exercise and maintain his health. Zhang Youju listened but did not implement it in action, so he was hit later. The Zhang family is superstitious about Jia Sida. The head of the family was hit and did not send him to the hospital, but went to invite Doctor Jia. Jia Sida immediately made a call and called an ambulance and personally escorted his old friend to the hospital. Western medicine saved Zhang Youju’s life, but the conditioning after discharge still depends on traditional Chinese medicine. Zhang Youju suffered a lot and had a clear mind. Not only did he follow Jia Sida's instructions to take medicine on time every day, but he also accepted the advice of exercise and health. His Tai Chi was also taught by Doctor Jia.

The third one is Liu Huaigu, who is forty-two years old. He used to be the accountant of Zhang Youju Farm. This person also has some connection with the Zhang family. The Liu and Zhang families were close neighbors before and had always had a good relationship. Liu Huaigu's father was a good player in Nanquan. In his early years, Zhang Zhiying was hired as a private bodyguard by Zhang when he was an official at Shanghai Customs. Let’s talk about the relationship between Liu Huaigu and Zhang Youju. Although Liu Huaigu is a gentle and gentle accountant, he is a bloody man. He is a master of Southern Quan Kung Fu taught by his father and is extremely powerful and has a violent personality. After the Japanese army invaded Guangzhou, the farm was forced to close. Zhang Youju immediately recommended Liu Huaigu to a factory run by his friend, and he was still a accountant. His income was higher than that of the farm and he was close to home, so he could go home every day. Liu Huaigu was not grateful and cursed the factory owner from time to time because he couldn't stand the boss processing military supplies for the Japanese army (in fact, the boss had no choice). The factory owner had a strong relationship with Zhang Youju and did not care about Liu Huaigu, but the Japanese and puppet authorities would not let him go. For this reason, Liu Huaigu was arrested three times, and Zhang Youju rescued him through relationships. The fourth time the disaster was so big that Liu Huaigu actually injured the Japanese consultant and traitor section chief of the tax bureau who came to the factory to check the accounts. The boss was so scared that he called Zhang Youju, and Zhang Youju said he would slip away first.

After Liu Huaigu escaped, the Japanese military police posted a wanted order. While Zhang Youju sent someone to send money and supplies to Liu Huaigu who was hiding in the countryside, he also pleaded for him. Before he could see him, Japan surrendered.Liu Huaigu returned to Guangzhou city, but soon lost his job. He was not fired, but his boss was arrested by the Kuomintang authorities for being a traitor. Zhang Youju introduced Liu Huaigu another profession and then rescued the boss's friend. Liu did not forget his old master and contributed his efforts. Liu Huaigu's new job was quite reliable, and he was still working until the liberation of Guangzhou. I heard that Zhang Youju had a stroke in July last year, so I took a leave to go to the hospital to serve. After Zhang Youju was discharged from the hospital, he came to the Zhang family to visit him almost every day. He is proficient in qigong and also understands medical skills. He gives Zhang Youju a massage every time he comes to promote his recovery.

The fourth one is a 28-year-old young man named Cao Huatie, who is a technician at Guangzhou Kaiyuan Shipping Company. How could a 28-year-old young man be a guest at Mr. Zhang’s house who is over 60 years old? It turned out that Cao Huatie's late father Cao Libin was Zhang Youju's friend. Cao Libin was also a man back then. He had participated in activities organized by the Hongmen secretly when he was a teenager. After the failure of the Huanghuagang Uprising, he risked the death of being beheaded by the Qing court to collect the bodies of the martyrs. In the bourgeois revolutionary camp, he is also considered a veteran. Lao Cao and Zhang Youju and his son both met each other. After the establishment of the Republic of China, he had a lot of contact with Zhang Youju. Cao Libin is very familiar with people in the world. He has friends in Guangdong, Guangxi, Lianghu, Fujian, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. When Zhang Youju started his business, he did some things in the world.

Cao Libin went to Hong Kong for work on Zhang Youju's last trip, and the ship he was riding hit a reef and sank, unfortunately died. That year, Cao Huatie was only six years old. Zhang Youju was originally planning to take him as his adopted son, but asked Chen Jingchong, the most famous fortune teller in Yangcheng, to do a fortune teller, saying that Cao Huatie's birth date and horoscope were in conflict with him, so he had to give up. However, Zhang Youju still regarded Cao Huatie as his own expenses and took on all his living and academic expenses until Cao Huatie graduated from Guangdong Mechanical Technology School and joined the ship company to work. In the year when the Anti-Japanese War was victorious, Cao Huatie got married and Zhang Youju took all the expenses. As for Cao Huatie, he also treated Zhang Youju as his adopted father. No matter whether it is windy or rainy, the young man must come to Zhang’s house to visit Zhang Youju every week and stay with him for half a day.

The fifth one is a forty-year-old woman named Zhao Huiwen. To put it in a common phrase from the early days of the founding of New China, this lady is "historical innocence". Where is the innocence? From January 1942 to the end of 1945, she worked as an underground traffic officer at the Guangzhou Station of the "Military Command".

Zhao Huiwen learned accounting business by herself after graduating from elementary school, and soon was admitted to Guangdong Simple Accounting School, and engaged in accounting work after graduation. She got married at the age of 20. Her husband Jiang Wei was five years older than Zhao Huiwen and was a documentary of the Guangdong Provincial Government. Shortly after the marriage, Chen Jitang, commander-in-chief of the Eighth Army, sent a telegram to the whole country to fight Chiang Kai-shek, expelled former governor Chen Mingshu, and joined forces with Wang Jingwei to form the Guangzhou National Government. Jiang Wei was able to retain it, and Wang Jingwei was attracted by him. After the "September 18th Incident", Jiang and Wang Jingwei joined forces, and Wang Jingwei became the Executive Director of the National Government. Jiang Wei and his wife went to Nanjing to join him and were appointed as the deputy chief of the General Affairs Section of the Executive Yuan. During his time in Nanjing, Jiang Wei met Dai Li and joined the "Military Command" in the spring of 1937. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Jiang Wei went to Guangzhou under the order of Dai Li to participate in the establishment of the "Military Command" Guangzhou Station, and engaged in intelligence work with the public identity of the boss of the car shop. When the Pacific War broke out in 1941, Jiang Wei was sent overseas by the Military Control Commission. Before leaving, he sublease the car shop to someone else. His wife Zhao Huiwen still works as a car shop accountant, but she was soon developed into an underground traffic officer by the Military Control Commission. It was not until the end of 1945 after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War that the Guangzhou Station of the Military Control Commission was abolished, and her spy work was over. Zhao Huiwen received a bonus and was happy, but she received a divorce statement sent by Jiang Wei from Hong Kong. From then on, she lived a single life.

So, what is the relationship between Zhao Huiwen and Zhang Youju? In the words of the Zhang family, she can be regarded as the benefactor of the Zhang family. Two years ago, Zhang Youju's three-year-old grandson was lost and had fallen into the hands of human traffickers. She happened to pass by and witnessed the child crying and struggling, and knew something was wrong. At that time, the police usually ignored such matters, and it was possible that they might be a human trafficker's accomplices. Zhao Huiwen believed in Buddhism and had the will to do good deeds, so she followed her quietly. After walking for a while, he saw two hooligans who were familiar with Jiang Wei, so he stepped forward to ask for help. As soon as the two came forward, the trafficker immediately left the child and ran away. Zhang Youju's only grandson was lost and regained. The whole family was very happy and even more grateful to Zhao Huiwen. From then on, Zhao Huiwen had contact with the Zhang family, and Zhang Youju and his wife treated her as their daughter.

The Provincial Department’s task force decided to conduct a secret investigation of these five objects. What is the result of the investigation? Let’s take a break and make an explanation. Let’s first take a look at the progress of the Municipal Bureau task force.

  4. Gang involved in the case

The Municipal Bureau task force found a weapon in the ditches in Xiaoyiyuan, and decided that the whole group would send separate visits to gardeners, morning practitioners, and residents, vendors and passers-by on the road outside the front door of the park.

According to the division of labor, Li Baoshan, deputy head of the task force, and criminal police officers Cheng Chi and Qi Daosheng went to Xiaoyiyuan to learn about the situation from gardeners, cleaners and tourists (including morning exercisers). Gardener Lao Wei told Li Baoshan that on the morning of February 27, he checked the flowers and plants in the park. When he walked past the ditches where the weapon was discovered, he saw a man about 35 or 36 years old, wearing a brown lantern jacket, black pants, and a black baseball cap squatted beside the ditches to wash his hands. Hearing the footsteps behind him, the man suddenly turned around and saw that it was a gardener. He smiled and nodded and said, "The master has gone to work so early." Before Old Wei could answer, he pointed to the ditch and said, "Why don't you raise some goldfish in this canal?"

Old Wei said, "This question is often mentioned, and I want to raise some goldfish, but the cost is a problem. This park..." The gardener was quite raving. Once the conversation was opened, he couldn't stop the car for less than half an hour. He was about to chat with the other party about the history and current situation of Xiaoyi Garden. There was a noise from the back door, and someone shouted "What happened" and "I killed someone." Old Wei stopped talking and hurried out. He is a person who likes to watch the fun and has never given up any chance to watch the fun. He has lived in such a murder scene for more than 50 years and has not seen it with his own eyes, so it is understandable to have this enthusiasm. However, Lao Wei was a little regretful because he ran outside the back door and just squeezed into the crowd, he was called by Director Shen (a cadre sent by the Civil Affairs Bureau to manage Xiaoyiyuan, with no position. The "Director" is the respectful title given to him by Lao Wei and other three subordinates), and assigned him to find a door panel to carry the person to the hospital. After a while, the man in black had long forgotten about it.

Criminal Policeman Cheng Chi learned about a situation when he visited the morning exerciser Lao Chen. Lao Chen was one of the people who arrived at the scene late after hearing the noise, because he was practicing Tai Chi on the grass at the entrance of the front door of the park. He must have rushed over slowly than others when he heard the sound. When he arrived, there were already dozens of people at the scene. He could not squeeze in, but a man who was rushing with him to watch the fun rushed in from behind. The man was a tall and thin man. Although he was thin, he was quite strong. He stood in front of Lao Chen and squeezed in. He forced him to squeeze in. Lao Chen followed him tightly and squeezed to the bottom of the circle, becoming the first row of audiences. The outfit of the tall and thin man was exactly the same as the man that gardener Lao Wei met by the ditch. He was both a brown lantern jacket, black pants, and a black baseball cap. He should be the same person!

The sweeper in the park (now called the "cleaner") Huang Ma has also seen the tall and thin man. She recalled that the man had been to Xiaoyiyuan for two consecutive days before, but it was not during morning exercises. One time it was around 10 a.m., and the other time it was around 1 p.m. Xiaoyi Garden is a small park. There are not many people coming and they are all residents nearby. After a long time, Huang Ma has become familiar with her, so she can tell at a glance that the man is a freshman. When the man saw Huang Ma look at him, he simply stopped and asked about the time when the park opened and closed, explaining that he had moved to a nearby residence and wanted to come to the park to do boxing every day in the future.

Old man Bai, who went to Xiaoyiyuan to do boxing every morning, reported a clue to the detective Qi Daosheng. Old Man Bai was in his sixties. When he was young, he worked as a soldier in the army of the Guangdong Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Guangdong Army. Because of his ancestors' martial arts, he was selected to be the guard of Chen Jiongming's headquarters.Chen Jiongming attached great importance to the security work and hired Soviet security experts to Guangzhou to conduct security guard business training for guards. Old Man Bai also participated in the training and achieved good results of "excellent total score". Usually, I can’t forget what I learned when I was young until I was old, and this is how old man Bai is.

At the morning of February 26, he went to the park to do boxing. When he left, he met the tall and thin man on the road outside the back door. However, the man was not wearing a brown jacket at the time, but a navy blue card outfit, his pants were black, and he also wore a black baseball cap on his head. Old Man Bai immediately remembered that he had seen this person before and followed Zhang Youju into the back door of Xiaoyi Garden. At that time, he thought this person was a little bit arrogant and seemed to be a new customer in the park, but he didn't care. The reason I pay a little attention now is that this person left less than ten minutes into the park. Since you don’t want to practice morning, why do you come to the park? Even if you take a walk and breathe fresh air, you should go around for half an hour.

On the way home, Old Man Bai went to a small noodle shop near Xiaoyiyuan as usual. Before he finished a bowl of noodles, he saw that the man came in to eat noodles. It’s nothing to eat noodles, the problem is that the Zhongshan outfit he wore before has been replaced with a brown jacket. Old Man Bai judged based on the security knowledge he learned from Soviet instructors when he was young, and this person might be a little strange. Sure enough, just one day later, Zhang Youju died outside the back door of the park. When Old Man Bai heard the news, he immediately contacted the man, but because the detective did not ask him to investigate, he would not take the initiative to find someone to report this situation. After all, he has historical problems. It is better to have less trouble than more trouble. In this way, this matter was in my mind for four days, and it was not until today that the criminal police came to the door to reveal it.

The Municipal Bureau’s task force analyzed that the tall and thin man was very suspicious of committing the crime. After committing the crime, he entered Xiaoyi Garden, threw the weapon into the ditches, and then washed away some blood stains on his hands (it would not be much, otherwise it would be easily noticed by people who practice morning exercises at the distance from the road to the ditches after entering the park). According to the on-site investigation of the criminal police and the identification of the forensic doctor, Zhang Youju did not immediately feel blood flowing like a spring after being stabbed. There was a mud mark embedded in the cloth seam on his pants slightly above the ankle bone of his right calf. That was because the murderer stabbed Zhang Youju's liver and swept the part with the tip of his shoe to the ground. Due to this sweep, Zhang Youju leaned back when he fell down, and the murderer took the opportunity to withdraw the weapon. The blood stains stained on the deceased's clothes also confirm the above judgment.

After this, more than one criminal policeman questioned a view formed when analyzing the case at the beginning of the incident: it was originally believed that the murderer robbed the property after stabbing Zhang Youju. Now it seems wrong, because the ground at the scene was relatively wet because it was raining last night. When the criminal searched for the property, he would inevitably turn the body of the victim, but there was no obvious sign of being turned on the victim's clothes. Therefore, the criminal should have forced Zhang Youju to hand over the property with a knife before killing him.

In this way, this guy is not just trying to make money, but also seeking life while robbing money. So, what is the motive for seeking a life? Are you afraid of exposing your whereabouts after the robbery, or are you going to kill Zhang Youju? The robbery is just a cover to divert the police's investigation? Everyone compared this case with similar cases that occurred since the liberation of Guangzhou, trying to find out the motives of the criminal. However, as we recall, since the liberation of Guangzhou, although murder and robbery cases have occurred frequently, some people have also killed people at the same time, but most of them have been killed because the victim resisted, and some have been silenced because the victim is an acquaintance. There is only one case where the victim neither resisted nor is he acquaintance of the criminal. According to the criminal's confession after being arrested, when he was about to leave after the robbery, he suddenly discovered that the silhouette of the female victim looked like a woman who had hurt his feelings. He was furious and killed in anger. In today's terms, this seems to be "passionate murder." After analyzing this for a long time, it was still impossible to draw a conclusion about the crime's motive.

However, one thing has attracted the attention of all task force criminal police officers. After robbing and killing people, the criminal did not quickly escape from the scene. Instead, he fell into the park, discarded the weapon, washed away the blood from his hands, and then returned to the crime scene and squeezed into the crowd to "watch the fun". This behavior shows that the murderer is not only crazy and bold, but also has extraordinary psychological qualities and anti-investigation awareness. His skillful methods of committing crimes, careful prevention awareness, and calmness are enough to prove that this guy is either a thief with a criminal record or an experienced professional killer.

The Municipal Bureau task force therefore believes that this case is definitely not as simple as everyone thought before. Zhang Youju's murder was not accidental, but carefully planned, and its motive is still difficult to judge. After analyzing this, Tan Zude and Li Baoshan, the chief and deputy heads of the task force, were all frowning. While everyone was smoking with a bitter face, they discussed how to carry out the next investigation in a word. Finally, they discussed a direction: it seemed that they had to find out the reason for Zhang Youju's murder from the history of Zhang Youju.

That night, the criminal police of the city bureau’s special task force went back to rest, and did not work overtime every day like they did in a few days. Tan Zude and Li Baoshan gathered together and made a bottle of white wine, dried tofu and peanuts as dishes. While drinking, they looked through a piece of ingredients.

This material is a resume written by Zhang Youju, who was borrowed from the Provincial Government Secretariat, when he was elected as a representative of the first People's Congress of all walks of life in Guangdong Province in November last year. The so-called "People's Congresses from all walks of life" is equivalent to the later "People's Congresses". It was stipulated at that time that those who were elected as representatives needed to submit a resume to the conference preparation office. Although Zhang Youju lacks interest in politics and his qualifications as a representative are also determined, he has to write a copy. The resumes of other representatives are only one or two pieces of paper, and the most complicated experience is only six or seven pieces. Zhang Youju has a frankness that "a real man cannot speak to others." His experience is much richer than others, and his writing is written more, so he writes twenty-seven pieces of paper at a time, which is like this booklet. Now, Tan Zude and Li Baoshan just want to see if they can find some clues that led to Zhang Youju's death in this material.

The resumes of this type of people's representative are mainly based on their own political experience. As for non-political events, they will not be mentioned unless they are major events. Zhang Youju has rich experiences, and of course he will not write about every non-political event he has experienced in his resume. However, there were quite a few non-political events that were chaotic during the Republic of China period, which were enough to cause serious consequences, especially for people with a background like Zhang Youju. Moreover, he may not be able to realize such a big thing. He may think it is a small thing, and for the other party involved in the matter, it may be a deep hatred.

After analyzing, Tan Zude and Li Baoshan did not find any noteworthy things or characters in the materials. However, they insisted that this idea was correct and decided to arrange for the criminal police to investigate the social relations that had been closely related to Zhang Youju the next day.

Starting from March 3, this investigation lasted for three days. The retention detective Mai Darong, who specializes in criminal investigation intelligence, was indeed not simple, and he found a clue.

Mai Darong was a member of the gang in the old days. He worked as a "wind explorer" (a secret spy who collects intelligence) at the branches under the Hongmen Zhigong Hall. He is more familiar with gang members on the ground in Guangzhou. Therefore, Tan Zude assigned him to investigate the gang in Guangzhou. After accepting the mission, Mai Darong asked about the relevant situation based on his previous relationships. This job sounds easy, but it is quite difficult to do. Because as soon as Guangzhou was liberated, the gang automatically stopped its activities. All the acquaintances and friends of Mai Darong ran away, and those who didn't run away also hid. Mai Darong is a criminal policeman again, and it is very difficult to find out about their whereabouts. After two days of running around like this, I finally found an acquaintance named Ni. Ni is not a member of the gang, but he is even more familiar with the Guangzhou gang than the backbone of the gang, because he was once a documentary of the Special Situation Section of the Guangzhou Social Bureau of the Kuomintang. The Social Bureau’s Special Affairs Department contacted the gangs of all sizes in the city, so Ni knew the situation of each gang. Mai Darong talked with him from nine o'clock until after two o'clock in the afternoon, and finally found out a situation quietly: Zhang Youju might have formed a bond with the gang.

Due to his father Zhang Zhiying, Zhang Youju has dated Hongmen, Tiandihui, and Gelaohui. This kind of interaction was not something he took the initiative, but someone came to get close to him. Zhang Youju pushes if he can, and if he can't push it, he will be perfunctory. Even so, he was elected as the head of the record hall by Hongxiong Hall, Tiandihui, 18 years ago. Hongxiongtang was established in the 20th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The slogan was "Turn the Tatars and the Han Dynasty", which did cause some trouble for the Qing government. However, the path gradually became a bit crooked. In the early stages of the Republic of China, there were rumors that Hongxiongtang had an affair with bandits and pirates.

Hongxiong Hall wanted to find a backer, and had sent people to give gifts to Zhang Youju many times and asked him to join. They were willing to recommend him as the master of the hall, but naturally they were rejected by Zhang. By 1926, Chiang Kai-shek was already the commander-in-chief of the National Revolutionary Army and stationed in Yangcheng. Suddenly one day, when Jiang thought of rectifying public order, the garrison headquarters and the municipal police station jointly issued an announcement, requiring the city's large and small gang halls to go and register within seven days. There are rumors in the underworld that this is a trick to trap gangs that are not in line with the authorities' minds and cannot be deceived. However, the joint announcement of the military and police clearly stated that if you fail to register within the deadline, you will be banned. The leader of Hongxiongtang knew in his heart that if the military and police really wanted to make things difficult for the gang, this hall would definitely be the first to be cleaned up. So, I thought of asking Zhang Youju to be the head of the hall to avoid disaster. However, if you visit me like before, Zhang Youju will definitely refuse. In extraordinary times, he had to take extraordinary measures: if you refuse to help, you will force you to nod.

Two days later, when Zhang Youju woke up, he was shocked to find a bright sharp knife inserted into the bed in the bedroom, and a mullet filled with bullets was placed on the chair in front of the bed! Before Zhang Youju came to his senses, Hongxiongtang sent an invitation to invite him to go to the "Nanguo Hotel" for lunch. Zhang Youju has a lot of experience in the world and knows that this matter must be done by Hongxiongtang. This is the highest level of warning - if you don’t cooperate, you can kill you without knowing it! He had no choice but to go to the banquet obediently. When he returned home in the afternoon, he was already the head of the Hongxiong Hall. Hongxiongtang successfully escaped the disaster with Zhang Youju's name.

Afterward, Zhang Youju rejected Hongxiongtang's heavy reward and firmly demanded that his name be deleted from Hongxiongtang's roster. Hongxiongtang thought that he might not have threatened Zhang Youju again with death, so he had to agree to his request. However, there are conditions - when Hongxiongtang encounters a major event that is critical to life and death, Zhang Youju has the obligation to help. From then on, although Zhang Youju was not a member of Hongxiong Hall, he was always inseparable from the hall. During the holidays, people will never accept a generous gift, but when the church encounters trouble, he has to keep his promise and try to help solve it. Fortunately, after Chiang Kai-shek's gang rectification, Hongxiongtang did not dare to act too much, and sometimes did some good deeds, but finally did not cause any major disasters. Zhang Youju did not reach out frequently, and the matter was not big, and it was still possible to rely on his face and interpersonal relationships. Otherwise, if Hongxiongtang still colluded with bandits and thieves like before 1926, let alone being unable to help them, I was afraid that Zhang Youju would have to get in.

In early 1949, Zhang Youju had a clear distant relationship with the important members of the Kuomintang, but Hongxiongtang had an important matter that required Zhang Youju to come forward to solve. This matter has nothing to do with social security, but the internal problem of the hall.

The year after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Hongxiong Hall was divided into two branches from the original main hall: Chenghong Hall and Chonghong Hall. There is a nominal main hall above the branch hall, and the masters of the two branch halls take turns to serve as the main hall hall every year. In the spring of 1949, an internal event happened - the head of Chenghong Hall Liu Jiqiu died of illness. This year, it was Pan Siyuan, the leader of Chonghong Hall, who was the leader of the chief, and he exercised the power of the chief, and ordered that Zhang Shenggen, the third son of Chenghong Hall, who had a close relationship with him, took over. This caused dissatisfaction among other sons of Chenghong Hall, and collectively resisted the appointment of the chief, and elected the second son of Chenghong Hall, Wang Hua, as the leader of the branch, and the dispute arose. The two branches sat down to negotiate, and no one could convince anyone. The chief lord was originally just a nominal position and had no real power to command the other party. The strength of both parties was equal. If the enemy had a fight, I still didn't know who would win. In the end, both sides decided to simply break up Hongxiong Hall into two. In the future, Chenghong Hall and Chonghong Hall will operate separately and have nothing to do with each other.

Originally, the two parties had already agreed and they were separated. However, things were not that simple, and I encountered trouble when dividing the childbirth. Among the public property of Hongxiongtang, there is a large mansion, which is the private property of the old owner Pan Renshan. Pan Renshan had no children, and everyone thought he would leave the house to his cousin Pan Siyuan, and Pan Siyuan himself thought so. However, the last words left by Lord Pan in public were to leave the house to Hongxiong Hall as the public property of the main hall. Now, the two branches are going to separate, who should this house be considered? Pan Siyuan believed that Chonghongtang should be the leader of him, while Chenghongtang believed that this hall had been in the house for ten years, and the incense hall had been opened for many times. Could it be that they were asked to leave? So where should I move? Have you, Pan Siyuan, arranged another office space for this hall?

The two sides were quarreling, so someone remembered Zhang Youju and said, "Let's stop arguing, listen to Mr. Zhang. He said that he would be in the same hall as he should, and no objection would be allowed. Both sides believed that this proposal was acceptable because both sides believed that Zhang Youju would help him.

Zhang Youju didn't want to care about this matter at first, but Chenghongtang and Chonghongtang each launched twenty members to visit Zhang's house for advice. The posture was obviously determined to win. If you don't agree, you're afraid that it would be inappropriate. Zhang Youju had to make a decision, and the result of the judgment was that the house belonged to Chenghongtang, who was originally staying in it.

As soon as this sentence came out, Chonghongtang showed his knife on the spot, not to Chenghongtang, but to greet Zhang Youju. Seeing this, Chenghongtang also shone. They not only had knives, but also had short guns and grenades, and they drove the brothers of Chonghongtang out of the house.

This happened in April last year. I heard that Chonghongtang hated Zhang Youju to the core. He threatened everywhere to show his good looks. Chenghongtang, from April to October, sent bodyguards to secretly protect Zhang Youju every day. Even though the old man had a stroke, he would send someone to the hospital to secretly protect him, but Zhang Youju and his family didn't know. This situation continued until the liberation of Guangzhou, and the gang halls were forced to stop their activities. The leaders and backbones fled, and the arrested were arrested. The members of the two halls, Chenghong and Suhong, scattered in birds and beasts, and Zhang Youju lost protection.

More than four months later, Zhang Youju was killed. Is this murder related to Chonghongtang?

  5. The suspect escaped

On March 6, the Municipal Bureau’s task force began to investigate Chenghongtang and Chonghongtang. The criminal police contacted several gang members who knew the recent situation of these two halls and learned that Chenghongtang and Chonghongtang were suing the disputed house. So Li Baoshan called the criminal policeman Cheng Chi to go to the court to investigate.

The owner of Chonghong Hall Pan Siyuan died of illness on the eve of the liberation of Guangzhou last fall. Pan Siyuan has been obsessed with the property of his cousin and the old cousin owner Pan Renshan, who fell into the hands of others. He left his last words before his death and asked his son Pan Xiaozhou to file a lawsuit in the court and recover his cousin's inheritance through legal means. Before Pan Xiaozhou started to take action, Guangzhou was liberated. Chenghongtang, which occupied the disputed property, collapsed like Chonghongtang, which he presided over, but the disputed property changed its owner.

It turned out that after Chenghongtang was able to continue to occupy the property under the mediation of Zhang Youju, the owner Wang Hua tampered with the property through relationships and transferred the property to his wife Ma Jinhua's name, and then divorced Ma Jinhua (actually still living together). In this way, although Wang Hua fled to Hong Kong after the liberation of Guangzhou, the property rights of the property actually belonged to him.Ma Jinhua is a woman with some knowledge. She doesn't live in this house herself, but rents it to a non-public agency of the People's Liberation Army and collects rent on a monthly basis. When Pan Xiaozhou learned about it, he felt like a ball of cotton was stuck all day long, and he wanted to sue him immediately. However, the court of the new regime had not opened at that time, so Pan Xiaozhou had to wait patiently.

After more than a month, the court began to accept civil lawsuits, and Pan Xiaozhou filed a lawsuit as the former head of the household Pan Renshan Tangsun. At that time, there was no civil procedure law, and there was no unified norm for handling civil cases in various courts, which was quite arbitrary. The presiding judge passed on Ma Jinhua for a conversation. Ma Jinhua is not simple, so she doesn't talk about the case, but reflects that Pan Xiaozhou is the son of the bully Pan Siyuan. After his father died, his disciples elected him as the new head of Chonghong Hall. The people's government should do the law. The judge told her that the situation had been understood. The plaintiff himself had no historical problems. His life was maintained by the bank staff he was engaged in. Although his father had disciples elected him as the owner of the new hall after his death, he did not accept it. Therefore, he had nothing to do with Chonghongtang, which had been automatically disbanded after the liberation of Guangzhou, and he did not have to bear legal responsibility for the crimes committed by Chonghongtang before. He is a citizen of the state and has the right to inherit the estate - if the court finally investigates the disputed property really falls within the scope of the estate.

Ma Jinhua immediately had another idea. She had seen Zhang Youju's name from the list of representatives of the People's Congresses from all walks of life in Guangdong Province published in the newspaper. She thought that this old man was still popular in the Communist Party world, so she told the judge about Zhang Youju's presidency in mediating the disputed real estate. The judge said that he had to provide evidence, and he had to speak based on evidence when he was in a lawsuit. The judge told Li Baoshan that he also mentioned this situation when he talked to the plaintiff Pan Xiaozhou the next day.

The criminal police thought that when Pan Xiaozhou learned that the court asked Ma Jinhua to find Zhang Youju to collect evidence, he would definitely realize that if Zhang Youju came forward to testify, the lawsuit would probably be unfavorable to him. Did Pan Xiaozhou or Yuan Chonghongtang’s remnants have the idea of silence?

The Municipal Bureau’s task force decided that Li Baoshan would lead Zhu Shuisheng, Cheng Chi and Mai Darong to conduct a secret investigation. The four criminal police officers first went to the Chentang District Public Security Bureau where Pan Xiaozhou lived. Da Zhong and Li Baoshan, the head of the public security department of the branch, were fellow villagers. They used to work as public security in the old district to solve several murder cases. They met now and felt intimate. When Da Zhong heard Li Baoshan’s purpose, he glared at him: "Your ears are so good. We just found a little clue, but you actually found it!"

Li Baoshan was inexplicably asked and found out that this was the case-

Yester yesterday morning, Pan Xiaozhou’s neighbor Lao Wu quietly came to the branch office and asked to see the leader. At that time, leaders were more likely to meet, but they were not allowed to meet anyone anytime, anywhere, otherwise they would not be able to work? Therefore, the guard asked Lao Wu what was wrong and which leader he wanted to meet. Lao Wu said, "Who asked me which leader I want to meet? I can't tell you, and I don't know your leader. I will meet any leader in dealing with bandits. I saw the bandits 'flying at sea', and this guy is coming into Guangzhou!"

The doorman is a veteran who has just transferred from the army. He is from the north and doesn't know what "flying at sea". However, when he heard the word "bacterial bandit", he thought that he should be in charge of the Public Security Department (at that time, the criminal investigation was the leader of the Public Security Department), and he said that he should find Section Chief Zhong. Dazhong knew "Flying on the Sea" - this person was born as a pirate. Later, he was forced to ashore by official pursuit and internal strife. He gathered a group of bandits and called "Flying on the Sea", which means flying from the sea to land. This group of bandits did many evil deeds. He is full of blood debt and is notorious, and everyone in Guangzhou knows it. Da Zhong is from the north, but he is doing the work of the head of the public security department, so he also knows the name of this guy. So, what clues should Lao Wu provide to Dazhong about "flying on the sea"? He said that he saw "flying on the sea" twice entering and leaving the home of his neighbor Pan Xiaozhou.

Lao Wu is a blacksmith, 37 years old. Twenty years ago, before he finished his territorial school, he followed his master and a senior brother to travel to villages and townships to get business. He was once a bandit gang named Raf "flying on the sea" in a small fishing village by the South China Sea. At that time, "Flying on the Sea" had just fled from the sea to land to pull up the pole. If there were not enough guns, he used a knife to make up the numbers and ordered the three masters and apprentices of Lao Wu to make long swords and daggers for them. Lao Wu met this bandit a few times and kept the other party's appearance in his heart.

On the sixth day of the Chinese New Year on February 22, when the twilight was about to fall, two rickshaws were parked at the door of the house of Pan Xiaozhou, a neighbor of Lao Wu. Two generous men came down, carrying gifts, knocking in the door. Lao Wu was playing chess at a nearby friend's house at that time, but the other party didn't see it when he came. After playing the three chess games, he happened to see Pan Xiaozhou sending out the door. From a distance, he felt a little excited: Why does this person look like "flying on the sea"? He was afraid that "Flying on the Sea" would still remember that he was the little blacksmith who was pulled by a husband back then, so he did not dare to approach. He watched "Flying on the Sea" say goodbye to Pan Xiaozhou by more than ten meters away and headed in the other direction.

Old Wu was puzzled, thinking that Mr. Pan is a bank employee and has always been gentle and gentle. How could he date a habitual bandit like "Flying on the Sea"? When I got home and told my wife, my wife said that Mr. Pan’s father was not the head of Chenghong Hall? I heard that his father used to make friends with the thief of Jiangyang, and maybe Mr. Xiao Pan and "Sea Fly" are buddies! However, because it was late at that time and Lao Wu was far away, he was not sure what he saw must be "flying on the sea", so he did not report it to the government. The day before yesterday, it was also in the evening, and the chess friend went to Lao Wu's house to play chess. When the two were in a difficult situation, their wife came in from outside and asked Lao Wu to go out. Lao Wu walked to the outside room, and his wife pointed at the outside. He looked out from the window and saw Pan Xiaozhou sending out the guest. This time he was a guest. Lao Wu saw it clearly, and he was indeed the one who "flying on the sea"! The next day, Lao Wu ran to the branch to report.

"Flying on the Sea" Han Yun is a major criminal listed on the first batch of arrests by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau. This list was set based on the information provided by the underground party long before the liberation of Guangzhou. After Da Zhong saw Lao Wu away, he immediately reported to the branch leaders. The leader attached great importance to it and asked the Public Security Department to arrange for investigators to monitor Liushu Lane where Pan Xiaozhou's family is day and night, pay attention to everyone entering and leaving the Pan family, and strictly order it to be kept confidential for the time being, and report it to the municipal bureau after the situation is clear. What Da Zhong didn't expect was that just one day passed, Li Baoshan actually knew about it and brought three criminal police officers to visit him. His attitude was clearly trying to steal the case!

Li Baoshan heard Da Zhong say this and explained that it was a coincidence and happened to be hit. He briefly introduced the situation of Zhang Youju's murder case, saying that this time he visited to investigate whether Pan Xiaozhou was involved in the murder case. But Li Baoshan added: "We didn't know that Pan Xiaozhou had any contact with 'Sea Flying'. Now, after hearing what your brother said, I have to pay special attention. It seems that you have to give in to this case and replace the comrades from the task force of the Municipal Bureau to investigate. After all, our case is supervised by the provincial department, and I heard that Beijing has also spoken. Of course, we should listen to the leaders of the municipal bureau for the specific coordination."

Li Baoshan returned to the task force and told the team leader Tan Zude, and Tan Zude immediately reported to Deputy Director Chen Kun, who was in charge of the investigation of the case. Chen Kun instructed the Chentang Branch to withdraw the secret investigation of Pan Xiaozhou's clues and the Municipal Bureau's special task force took over.

From the early morning of March 7, the Municipal Bureau’s task force sent several criminal policemen to secretly monitor Pan Xiaozhou’s residence day and night. On the morning of the same day, the task force of the Municipal Bureau came forward to contact Xiao Jiang, the son of Huang Ma, the Pan family maid, to communicate with him and promised to mobilize his mother to assist the government in the investigation. In the afternoon, Xiao Jiang went to Pan's house and found an excuse to take his mother outside. The task force leader Tan Zude came forward to talk to Huang Ma, dispelling her ideological concerns, and then asked Huang Ma about the situation of "Flying on the Sea" to the Pan family twice.

Huang Ma had heard of "flying on the sea", but she didn't know that the middle-aged man in her forties who came to the door twice and served tea and water for her was a well-known thief in Guangzhou. The detective asked her what "Flying on the Sea" had talked to Pan Xiaozhou.Huang Ma said that Pan Xiaozhou initially received a "Sea Flying" in the living room, known as "Mr. Han", and told her to serve tea. When she delivered the tea and snacks, the host and the guest had already transferred to the study to sit. She came outside the study and heard "Sea Fly" saying, "Fourth, I'll leave this matter to you." Then there was the rough voice of the man who went with "Sea Fly": "Don't worry, I'll make arrangements immediately and make sure to do it." After Huang Ma pushed the door and entered, the three of them stopped talking, just smoked and drank tea. At that time, Huang Ma felt that "Flying on the Sea" looked at her as if she was a little alert, but she didn't care. However, when "Flying on the Sea" went to Pan's house again on March 5, Pan Xiaozhou no longer asked her to serve tea, but instead carried a thermos to the study.

The Municipal Bureau task force analyzed this situation. "Flying on the Sea" Han Yun is a wanted criminal by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department. The wanted orders from the Kuomintang Police Department before the liberation of Guangzhou and the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department after the liberation of Guangzhou have been posted throughout the streets and alleys of Guangzhou City. It can be said that everyone knows it. But Pan Xiaozhou is still in contact with "Flying on the Sea", and this alone can be arrested and sentenced. Therefore, his interactions with "Sea Flying" must have an important purpose. In connection with his real estate lawsuit with Wang Hua's ex-wife Ma Jinhua, and the dialogue between "Sea Flying" and his subordinates that Huang Ma heard, it is impossible to connect him with Zhang Youju's murder case. Although the bandits who "Fly on the Sea" have scattered birds and are no longer openly used as a gang, it is not difficult for the bandit leader "Fly on the Sea" to arrange a professional killer to kill Zhang Youju. Of course, it won’t be done in vain. Pan Xiaozhou must have to pay a reward.

Huang Mama is very capable and asked her son Xiao Jiang to send a piece of information that night. Pan Xiaozhou's four-year-old son told her when playing with a toy gun that the Pan family had guns and ammunition. The child said that it was placed under the big bed where his parents slept. He heard his father tell his mother that it was Uncle Han's. "Uncle Han", isn't that Han Yun "flying on the sea"?

Tan Zude and Li Baoshan are studying this information, and the criminal police who monitored Pan Xiaozhou reported another message. After getting off work from the bank today, Pan Xiaozhou went to the "Xiaonanyuan Hotel" and entered a small private room. About a quarter of an hour later, a man in his thirties also entered the private room. Xiao Cao, a criminal policeman who was dressed in a disguise, was pushing a bicycle to monitor the hotel near the hotel. An hour later, the old criminal policeman Qin Jun went to change shifts. Qin Jun disguised himself as a tricycle driver and pretended to repair the car diagonally opposite the hotel. Xiao Cao informed him of the tracking situation. Qin Jun heard that the man who was having dinner with Pan Xiaozhou was a man in his thirties. When he moved his heart, he asked about his figure. Xiao Cao said he was a tall and thin man. Qin Jun thought that it was not the murderer who killed Zhang Youju, so he asked Xiao Cao to go into the hotel to check it out. As he was talking, Pan Xiaozhou and the man came out. The man was indeed a tall and thin man in a black suit and a thin top hat on his head, covering most of his face. He could not see his appearance clearly through the road.

Pan Xiaozhou raised his hand and was about to call Qin Jun's tricycle. An empty tricycle turned out from the alley next to him, and the man got into the car. Qin Jun was about to get in the car and follow him, but Pan Xiaozhou pointed at him and called "tricycle". Qin Jun immediately pretended to be "The car is broken, it's repairing." Pan Xiaozhou called another passing rickshaw and left. When he pulled Pan Xiaozhou's rickshaw away, Qin Jun quickly jumped onto the tricycle and chased the tall and thin man. Qin Jun was strong and was driving an empty car. He shortened the distance between the two cars to about ten meters in just two or three minutes. I was secretly happy, but unexpectedly, with a "click" under my feet, the chain was broken, and the tricycle was really broken! In this way, he watched the tall and thin tricycle disappear into the alley.

Another criminal policeman Xiao Cao followed Pan Xiaozhou home on a bicycle and took a rickshaw, which was very smooth. He had nothing to say all the way and followed Pan's house, handing the target to his comrades who were monitoring there, and then he returned to the municipal bureau to submit the service.

Tan Zude and Li Baoshan exchanged views, believing that if the tall and thin man was indeed the murderer hired by Pan Xiaozhou to "Flying on the Sea", the two met at the "Xiaonanyuan Hotel" tonight, it might be that Pan Xiaozhou paid him a reward. If this guess is accurate, then the tall and thin person will no longer contact Pan Xiaozhou. So, now we have to consider whether to arrest Pan Xiaozhou. The task force of the municipal bureau cannot make the decision. Tan Zude immediately wrote a written report to meet Chen Kun overnight. However, Chen Kun was not in the office. The duty officer of the Secretary Department told him that Chen Kun and Director Chen Bo had gone to the municipal party committee to attend an emergency meeting, and it was still unknown when he would come back. There is no way, so I have to leave this report until dawn.

The next morning, Huang Ma's son Xiao Jiang came to report that Huang Ma was sent to Hetanquan, a suburb of Hetanquan by Pan Xiaozhou early this morning to take care of Pan Xiaozhou's mother who was recuperating in the countryside. Then, the criminal police who monitored Pan's house came to report again, saying that it was almost nine o'clock and that Pan Xiaozhou had not yet left. Today is Wednesday, and he should go to the bank where he works. Tan Zude felt a little embarrassed. If Huang Ma didn't go to the countryside, she could ask Xiao Jiang why Pan Xiaozhou didn't go to work. What should I do now? He discussed with Li Baoshan and decided to ask the court to help him issue a official letter. The criminal police disguised himself as a judge and visited the parties involved in Pan's house to find out the reasons why he did not go to work. He stabilized him first. He immediately sent the arrest report last night to Deputy Director Chen Kun. If approved, the arrest will be carried out immediately.

The courts at that time had no uniforms, and all casual clothes were usually mainly in Zhongshan suits or Lenin suits. The criminal police officer Liu Mingdao of the task force was dressed in a Zhongshan suit, went to the district court to get a letter, and borrowed a bicycle with a court sign to go to Pan's house. Unexpectedly, the Pan family told him that Pan Xiaozhou was not at home. Liu Mingdao thought to himself that the criminal police of the special task force stared at Pan's house all night, and he has never dared to relax since the shift change in the morning. How could he see this guy's shadow? It must be hiding in the house. However, his identity is now a judge of the court's civil court. He had no right to search for the private houses, so he had to leave in disappointment.

At this time, Deputy Director Chen Kun had approved the arrest of Pan Xiaozhou immediately. After receiving Liu Mingdao's report, Tan Zude and Li Baoshan immediately led a group of criminal police officers to go out. When I arrived at Pan's house, I immediately searched, but indeed, no trace of Pan Xiaozhou was found. What Huang Ma said about Pan Xiaozhou and his wife hidden under the bed in the bedroom was found. It was ten new American revolvers, more than 600 bullets, and a box of American high-explosive grenades. The detectives of this kind of grenade had never seen it, let alone heard of it. It was only the size of a table tennis ball. Later, when an armed force expert was asked to test one, it was blown up, which was twice or three times the power of a Japanese melon grenade during World War II.

Tan Zude thought, where did these things come from? If it were the guy who was "flying on the sea", he, a pirate bandit, could he get such American weapons and ammunition? And they are all brand new. This is obviously something used by spies! Let’s put this aside, Pan Xiaozhou took a rickshaw home last night. The criminal police officer who followed him saw him enter the house with his own eyes and never left the house again! Moreover, early in the morning, Pan Xiaozhou asked Huang Ma to go to Hetanquan countryside to take care of the old lady. Could it be that this guy knows stealth skills, Qingtian Bairi escaped under the noses of the surveillance personnel? The criminal police called Pan family, Pan Xiaozhou's wife, aunt and two sisters, and asked them separately. Finally, they learned that Pan Xiaozhou had climbed the wall from the backyard at midnight yesterday, and it was unclear where he fled. As for the instructions to Huang Ma to go to Hetanquan this morning, it was the words of Pan Xiaozhou's wife, who said that this was the care of her husband last night.

After Pan Xiaozhou's escape, the city bureau task force felt ache. Tan Zude and Li Baoshan had to bring all the Pan family into the bureau and ask them to explain all the social relations between Pan Xiaozhou, and at least they had to arrest him back.

  Very suspicion

Looking back, let's take a look at the investigation progress of the Provincial Department's task force -

The Provincial Department's task force found five targets, Wang Zhenhuan, Jia Sida, Liu Huaigu, Cao Huatie and Zhao Huiwen, from many social relations before Zhang Youju's lifetime. After the preliminary investigation, Wang Zhenhuan and Cao Huatie can be ruled out, and the other three seem to be suspected of being involved in the case.

As mentioned earlier, Jia Sida and Zhang Youju are family friends, and their father is a good friend. The Jia father and son used the ancestral medical skills to cure diseases and prolong life for the Zhang father and son. That friendship is extraordinary. Therefore, Zhang Youju and Jia Sida can be said to be a pair of close friends who can speak everything. So, has Zhang Youju been told to Jia Sida that he was ordered to go to Hong Kong to perform his special mission? Zhang Youju is dead, and Jia Sida cannot be alarmed at this moment, so the criminal police asked Zhang Youju's family - because Zhang Youju's special mission is unknown to his family, it is impossible to ask directly, and he can only use indirect methods, but there is no gain. However, the Zhang family provided that Jia Sida's eldest son-in-law Yue Jixiang is a Kuomintang spy and works for the "Ministry of National Defense Secret Service" with the rank of major. Moreover, Jia Sida and Yue Jixiang have a good relationship. The father-in-law and son-in-law used to eat and drink. On the eve of the liberation of Guangzhou, two days before Yue Jixiang fled overseas with his family, Jia Sida held a banquet for his daughter and son-in-law at the "Da Hongyun Restaurant". That time, Zhang Youju was also invited to attend.

This situation naturally attracted the attention of the provincial department task force. Zhang Youju has a close relationship with Jia Sida, and he knows Yue Jixiang. If Jia Sida knew that Zhang Youju went to Hong Kong to "visit relatives and friends", would he ask him to send a message or something to his daughter and son-in-law? Once Zhang Youju comes into contact with Yue Jixiang, it will inevitably attract the attention of the enemy's special forces.

The Provincial Department’s task force decided to investigate this. The investigator found out that Jia Sida and his wife had a mistress outside, so they understood her work through the mistress's two little sisters. They quietly took out Jia's diary and reviewed it. They found that Jia Sida did not know about Zhang Youju's going to Hong Kong - this shows that Zhang Youju still has a certain sense of confidentiality. In this way, the provincial department task force eliminated Jia Sida's suspicion involved in the case.

Another suspect, Liu Huaigu, came from a family of Southern Fist. The Nanquan inherited the ancestral Nan Fist is superb. Even Hong Kong, Macao and even Southeast Asia, martial arts enthusiasts come to practice boxing skills. After practicing Kung Fu to the level of Liu Huaigu, there will naturally be several disciples, brothers and sisters, and masters and uncles, etc. These people are all in Guangzhou, and they are all working in various ways, including all kinds of religions, and several of them are martial arts instructors of the Kuomintang military, police and constitutional special forces. Military and police special students learn practical skills, so they also need to conduct practical training, which is the so-called "feeding move". Experts like Liu Huaigu are often invited by them to give guidance.

After the founding of New China, Liu Huaigu's uncle and brothers who served as reactionary military and police military special martial arts instructors, all those who had official positions appointed by the Kuomintang regime were arrested, and several of them had blood debts were shot. Liu Huaigu was not a formal instructor, but he only made a guest appearance several times. Besides, there were no other historical problems, so the people's government did not cause trouble for him. However, he was not grateful. From time to time, he would swear words and vent his dissatisfaction. He also rejected the invitations of the Provincial Public Security Department's police school, the military reconnaissance cadre training class and the provincial and municipal sports committees several times, and refused to contribute his skills to the new regime.

The above situation cannot be used as the basis for Liu Huaigu's involvement in the case. The reason why the provincial department task force suspected him was because he knew that Zhang Youju went to Hong Kong to "visit relatives and friends" and wrote two letters to Zhang to send it to his two junior brothers in Hong Kong. Two junior brothers, one with the surname Luo and the other with the surname Wang, Zhang Youju sent the letter to the boxer named Luo. Because Boxer Wang had already gone to Singapore, the letter to Boxer Wang could only be forwarded by Boxer Luo. According to investigation, Luo Boxer served as a national art instructor in the Guangzhou area of the "Military Command" during the War of Resistance Against Japan, and was also rewarded by the "Military Command" after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan. As for whether there is any connection with the "Secret Service" reorganized by the "Military Command", it cannot be determined.

The Provincial Department’s task force believes that there is no reason to rule out the possibility that the enemy’s special forces would doubt Zhang Youju’s trip to Hong Kong due to the message from Liu Huaigu. Although it is not necessarily Liu Huaigu’s subjective intention, it may become a contact point for the enemy’s special forces to learn that Zhang Youju has a secret mission. If this speculation is confirmed, it will solve the problem of the motive of the crime that has always plagued the investigators during the special investigation, and at the same time, it will also find a channel for solving the case.

According to the regulations, the Provincial Department’s task force reported the progress of the investigation to Chen Bo, Director of the Provincial Public Security Department, once a day. After the situation involving Liu Huaigu was sent to him, Chen Bo summoned Tang Bo, the head of the provincial department’s special task force, and instructed him not to investigate this clue. Why not check it? Director Chen didn't say anything. Later I learned that Zhang Youju went to Hong Kong to carry out a special mission, and one of the links was to understand some of the workplace through Luo and Wang Er Boxing. Zhang Youju did not know Luo and Wang, so the organization asked him to deliberately reveal to Liu Huaigu that he was going to Hong Kong to "visit relatives and friends". It was expected that Liu Huaigu would definitely take this opportunity to ask him to send a message to Luo and Wang, and Zhang Youju would naturally meet the two boxers. So, will the Luo boxer who met Zhang Youju tell the enemy? Or, although he did not report the news, he accidentally revealed his contact with Zhang, which aroused suspicion from the enemy's special forces? After Zhang Youju was killed, Beijing launched an overseas investigation. The result was that Luo Boxer had never interacted with friends from the former Kuomintang regime overseas after he arrived in Hong Kong, so this speculation can be ruled out.

The third suspected target is Zhao Huiwen, who worked as an underground traffic officer for the "Military Command" during the War of Resistance Against Japan. The divorced woman, who was treated as a daughter by Zhang Youju and his wife, is an employee of a trading company run by overseas Chinese in Nanyang. She has some relatives with the boss, so when the boss has something to go out, he handed over all the company's affairs to her. During the period when the provincial department task force investigated her, she was working as the interim boss. Since it was an external investigation, Li Xianjun and Yang Dengshan, investigators of the Provincial Department’s task force, went to the Guanduan Police Station where the company where Zhao Huiwen worked, and learned that her residence was not far from the company and was under the jurisdiction of the same police station. However, the two police officers in charge of the police station (both residence and company) had no impression of Zhao Huiwen. Now Li Xianjun and Yang Dengshan were strange. They thought to themselves that Zhao Huiwen was once an underground traffic officer of the "Military Command". According to the regulations promulgated by the Military Control Commission, she should go to the public security organs to register. Whether she went to the municipal bureau, branch bureau or police station to register, she had to let the police officers of Guan Duan know in the end. How could these two brothers not know? As soon as the two sides exchanged information, they were both surprised - the police station did not know at all that Zhao Huiwen had been an underground traffic officer in the "Military Command"! Later I learned that this woman did not register with the public security organs for her experience in "Military Bureau" spy work after the liberation of Guangzhou.

Then, the police station assisted the provincial department task force to conduct an external investigation of Zhao Huiwen. When the police officer Guan Duan went down the alley to find out, he learned that Zhao Huiwen seemed a little restless for a while. The specific manifestation was that he had sex with two men who were fierce and were definitely not good. In the past half month, the two men have entered and exited Zhao Huiwen's residence at least five or six times. When the neighbors heard them speak Cantonese, they should be locals in Guangzhou. Then, at the request of Li Xianjun and Yang Dengshan, police officers secretly called Lao Xu, the gatekeeper of the business building where the trading company where Zhao Huiwen worked, to the police station. Li and Yang talked with Lao Xu and learned that the two men, who were also considered "not like good people" by the janitor, had also been to the company where Zhao Huiwen worked. The management of business buildings has always been strict, and there have always been rules that visitors must register with the concierge. According to Lao Xu, the names of the two are easy to remember. One is called Tao and the other is called Tao. He comes from Longwan Village in the countryside of Nanjiao, Yangcheng. He seems to be a pair of brothers.

The investigator has checked the registration materials of the company's employment personnel of the Industrial and Commercial Bureau and learned that Zhao Huiwen is from Longwan Village. The Tao brothers are in the same village as her, so it is not clear whether they are relatives. After Li and Yang reported the above situation to Tang Bo, the head of the provincial department task force, Tang Bo asked them to go to the police station and asked the police officers of the police station to cooperate with them to further investigate Zhao Huiwen's interpersonal relationships and living conditions. Li Xianjun and Yang Dengshan came to the police station. As soon as they walked into the yard, they heard a loud noise from a woman with strong penetration in the room. When they went in, they saw that the woman in the reception room was Zhao Huiwen.

What did Zhao Huiwen come to the police station for? It turned out that after Lao Xu, the janitor of the business building, did not keep the "must keep confidential" what the police told him. Someone asked him where he had just gone, and he casually said that he had been looked for by the police station. The other party naturally has to ask the police station what they are looking for you, do you have any historical problems? At that time, people were quite taboo about the statement of "historical issues". Old Xu was eager to confess his love, so he said that it was the police investigating Ms. Zhao from a certain company on the fourth floor... Speaking of this, he realized that it was a leak and hurriedly bit his tongue. But it was too late. In a blink of an eye, the news spread throughout the building, and of course it also reached Zhao Huiwen's own ears. This knowledgeable woman who seemed very well-educated was furious and went straight to the police station without saying a word and questioned the police: "The Tao brothers are my relatives, poor peasants. Is it illegal to come to the city to see if I am also illegal? Is it worthy of your police investigation?"

This is a case investigated by the provincial department's special task force. The police at the police station are inconvenient and do not know how to answer Zhao Huiwen. The police officers were helpless, and Li and Yang arrived. The director hurriedly pulled the two into another room and told them about the situation and asked what to do. The two investigators discussed it and said that the police station would simply come forward to learn about the relationship between the Tao brothers and Zhao Huiwen and make a record. If she refuses to answer, she says that this is because she has not actively registered her "Military Control" agent experience with the public security organs in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Military Control Commission, so the police have to conduct a supplementary investigation, and she doesn't dare to resist.

The police station chief was worried that the police could not handle Zhao Huiwen, so he came forward to talk to her in person. After hearing this, Zhao Huiwen did not dare to make noise anymore and argued that she did underground transportation for the "Military Command" at that time to fight against the war, and was not a formal staff member of the "Military Command". She did not fill in the form or have military ranks, so she did not register with the government. As for the Tao brothers, they are two cousins in her mother's Longwan Village, and their mother and her mother are legitimate sisters. They were planning to go to the city to do seafood trading, but they didn't know the trick, so they asked her to help find an expert friend to give her advice.

The police station director conveyed Zhao Huiwen's words to the investigators. Li and Yang said that since they reached this point, they would ask Zhao Huiwen to tell where the Tao brothers are currently and find them to record them. When asked about Zhao Huiwen, she said that she would place her two cousins in an empty house of her friend and live temporarily. The police station chief immediately sent someone to call the two of them, and their statements were consistent with Zhao Huiwen.

As soon as the Tao brothers appeared, the investigator looked at it, and felt that he was really fierce and didn't look good, so he called Tang Bo, the head of the provincial department's special task force, and asked someone to immediately send someone to take the gardener Lao Wei and the cleaning lady Huang Ma to the police station to secretly identify whether there was any of the two who appeared at the scene on the day of the incident. Lao Wei and Huang Ma looked at it again and again, and finally shook their heads and denied it. The Dow brothers' murder suspect was ruled out. When the two were sent away, Zhao Huiwen, the police clearly informed that rural farmers could go to the city to do business, but they had to go to the township government to issue certificates. In addition, whether they were buying a house, renting a house or hiring a house with relatives and friends in Guangzhou, they had to go to the police station to apply for a temporary household registration according to regulations.

For the police station, this job is over. However, the provincial department task force finally found Zhao Huiwen, the suspect, but had not found any results yet. How could Tang Bo give up easily? Lao Tang has rich experience in handling cases. While sending people to send Lao Wei and Huang Ma to the police station to identify the Tao brothers, he arranged two other investigators, Zhou Zhen and Wu Chengxin, to Jinlong Township, where Longwan Village is located, to find the public security commissioner to find out the situation.

The public security commissioner in Jinlong Township told them that the Tao brothers and Zhao Huiwen are indeed cousins. Zhao Huiwen was born in Longwan Village and was adopted by her uncle who runs a grain store in Guangzhou when she was three years old. Uncle takes Zhao Huiwen with him when he returns to his hometown in Longwan Village several times a year, so Zhao Huiwen is not unfamiliar with her birthplace. After going to school, Zhao Huiwen always had to go back to Longwan Village to live for a while during the winter and summer vacations, and she always got along well with the Tao brothers. The Tao brothers were born in poverty. Although they were born with a fierce look, they were not criminals in the village and had been in good manners for more than 20 years. In short, the consistent performance of the two can be summarized in four words: be content with oneself.

Tang Bo listened to the investigator's above situation report and immediately made a judgment: There are probably problems behind this matter.Where did the two honest and honest young farmers have the courage, courage and ability to go to Guangzhou to do seafood business? Besides, they are poor peasants, so how can they get the capital? Tang Bo firmly believed that his judgment was correct and immediately decided to conduct secret surveillance on the Tao brothers and Zhao Huiwen.

On the first day of surveillance, the investigator found that Zhao Huiwen went out at around 8 a.m. and called a porter at the human resources market near her residence. After returning home, she asked her to hang a bulging suitcase at each end of a shoulder pole, and asked the porter to leave her residence and go to the bus station and take a bus to Jinlong Township. Xiao Wang, an investigator who was performing a surveillance mission near her home, didn't know where she was going. When she got on the car, she heard her buy two tickets to Jinlong Township from the ticket seller, and then she realized that she was going back to her hometown. Now, Xiao Wang was a little embarrassed. Although he was disguised, it seemed inconvenient to follow him to Longwan Village. That would be too conspicuous. But at this time there is definitely no time to report, so Xiao Wang decided to follow up first without hesitation.

The car arrived at Jinlong Township, Zhao Huiwen got off the car. There were more than three miles to Longwan Village, and the porter had to work hard. Maybe the porter said he was hungry, so Zhao Huiwen took him to the noodle stall on the side of the road to eat noodles. Just as the two were eating noodles, Xiao Wang suddenly discovered that Lao Hao, one of the three investigators sent by Tang Bo to the countryside to monitor the Tao brothers. Lao Hao is from the suburbs of Guangzhou and is from an underground party. Before the liberation of Guangzhou, he often disguised himself as a person of all kinds when he was traveling to traffic. At this moment, he disguised himself as a bricklayer who traveled to the villages and villages. He went to the township government to call to report the surveillance situation. After going out, he found Xiao Wang at a glance. He followed Xiao Wang's gaze and glanced at the side. Seeing Zhao Huiwen eating noodles, he immediately understood Xiao Wang's intention to wink. He nodded slightly and informed Xiao Wang: You leave, let me continue to stare at the target.

No one expected that Lao Hao and the three brothers actually failed, allowing Zhao Huiwen and the Tao brothers to slip away!

Old Hao disguised himself as a bricklayer, and brought investigators Xiao Jiang and Xiao Min who disguised himself as an apprentice. The chairman of the Longwan Village Farmers Association arranged for the surveillance mission to enter the village. They specially chose a farmer to build a pig house near the Tao brothers' house, staring at the Tao family's door while working. Lao Hao followed Zhao Huiwen to Longwan Village. Seeing the Tao brothers going out to take the luggage from the porter, Zhao Huiwen took out the money and sent the porter to the door. Unexpectedly, Zhao Huiwen did not stop at the Tao family and left directly through the back door with the Tao brothers!

Old Hao, the three of them had already built the pig house. Seeing that the Tao family was still not moving, they went to the chairman of the Farmers Association to ask him to arrange someone to visit. When I saw that there was no one at home.

Fortunately, the investigator was smart, and then found Zhao Huiwen's family, took her parents, brothers and sisters to the village committee, and asked them separately. Finally, he learned that Zhao Huiwen had been escorted to a small fishing village by the Nansha Sea of Panyu by the Tao brothers. Zhao Huiwen was going to smuggle to Hong Kong, and the Dow brothers sent her onto the ship. The boat was contacted by Zhao Huiwen in advance, and the family was not sure about the specific situation.

The provincial department task force immediately dispatched to search Zhao Huiwen's residence, and the other way to Panyu. Finally, before dark, Zhao Huiwen and the Tao brothers who had not yet arrived to pick up the ship. The investigators who searched Zhao Huiwen's residence in the city did not gain anything. Zhao Huiwen's precious and delicate materials were taken away in a suitcase. The investigators who went to the small fishing village to arrest searched the suitcase and found no items involved or evidence that could prove that Zhao Huiwen had unique connections with the enemy.

So, what happened to Zhao Huiwen smuggling into Hong Kong? After the provincial department task force interrogated the three people, he learned that Zhao Huiwen met a friend from Hong Kong to Guangzhou not long ago, and told her that her ex-husband Jiang Wei had left the "Secret Bureau" and opened a restaurant in Kowloon. He did not remarry and lived with a woman for a while. Two years ago, the woman went to Singapore and married an overseas Chinese boss. Zhao Huiwen couldn't help but feel moved when she heard this and wanted to go to Hong Kong to remarry Jiang Wei. These days, Zhao Huiwen has been secretly looking for snakeheads that can help her smuggle, and asked them to follow the fellow villagers in Longwan Village, Guangzhou to inquire about this information.Later, she found a friend who had been with her ex-husband in the "Military Control Commission". The man's surname is Guo, and now she has left the secret service agency to start a business. Through Lao Guo's introduction, she finally found a fisherman who could help her smuggle.

Zhao Huiwen confessed to the smuggling incident, but when the investigator asked about Zhang Youju's murder case, she shook her head. The provincial department task force interrogated for a whole night and finally ruled out the suspicion of Zhao Huiwen's involvement in the case.

  7. The real murderer was arrested

On March 9, on the evening of the day when the Provincial Department’s task force ruled out that Zhao Huiwen was suspected of being involved in the case, the Municipal Bureau’s task force arrested Pan Xiaozhou in a small nunnery in Changhong Lane, Taiping District.

After Pan Xiaozhou disappeared a day ago, the task force of the Municipal Bureau interrogated the four members of the Pan family, made an analysis based on the situation they explained, and listed seventeen places where Pan Xiaozhou might go to hide, and the nunnery in Changhong Lane is one of them.

This nunnery is very small, with three bungalows and a garden. Outside it is a yellow walled red lacquer gate. There is only one nun in the nun, whose Dharma name is Jingzhu, thirty-two years old. This Jingzhu's real name is Lu Qingshu. She was born in a wealthy family and was smart since childhood. After graduating from the women's class of the Provincial Normal School at the age of 19, she became a primary school teacher. At that time, in order to solve the lack of teachers, the education department introduced temporary measures to "upgrade teachers and students", that is, junior primary teachers will be promoted to high school with the students they teach, and senior primary teachers will be admitted to junior secondary school teachers with the students who have passed the junior high school entrance examination. Of course, there must be a prerequisite for teachers to upgrade: their professional quality is excellent and they can undertake the upgraded teaching work. Lu Qingshu has this quality, so she has been teaching for two years and has been teaching in junior high school. After teaching in junior high school for a year, she met Pan Xiaozhou, a second-year junior high school student who was transferred from another school. After the class was promoted to the third year of junior high school, the teachers and students actually started to have a teacher-student relationship. The final result was that Lu Qingshu became pregnant and aborted, resigned and became a nun.

The relationship between Pan Xiaozhou and Lu Qingshu was dug out of his mother by investigators. The Municipal Bureau task force finally got to know Pan Xiaozhou was hiding in a nunnery through a secret investigation, so he arrested him. Lu Qingshu was suspected of hiding and entered the bureau. After interrogation, Pan Xiaozhou confessed the truth. Although it had nothing to do with Zhang Youju's murder case, it also surprised the criminal police.

It turned out that Pan Xiaozhou was actually a lurking spy of the "Ministry of National Defense Secret Service". After being ordered to lurk, he developed six bandits, including "Sea Fly", who had a good friendship with his father Pan Siyuan, into spies, according to the order of the peak. He is preparing to accept Taiwan's secret orders and wait for an opportunity to carry out sabotage activities. Pan Xiaozhou came forward to sue Ma Jinhua for real estate, but was instructed by Shangfeng. The original intention was not for money, but for himself to apply a layer of protection from the safety plan - a person who cares about property should not be a spy, because once a spy is exposed, he must immediately slip away. What should he do if he wants real estate?

After the Pan Xiaozhou secret agent case was reported to the Municipal Bureau, the leader ordered it to be handed over to the political security department and then investigated. The Municipal Bureau’s special task force continued the investigation of Zhang Youju’s murder case.

At this time, the Municipal Bureau task force had no other way to go, and had to focus on the tall and thin man who had appeared at the scene of Zhang Youju's murder. On March 12, the Municipal Bureau’s task force was dispatched to visit the situation of the tall and thin man in the small noodle restaurant near Xiaoyiyuan. The noodle restaurant is located at the junction of the three police stations, so the scope of this visit is relatively large. When everyone set out from the municipal bureau, no one expected that luck had come quietly.

Li Baoshan, deputy head of the special task force of the Municipal Bureau, and Xiao Duan, criminal police officer, went to Ziyunli Police Station. The police station instructor Ge Renxin asked Li Baoshan and Xiao Duan into the office, brewed tea and handed cigarettes. As soon as the chat started, a crowd came outside and said he wanted to contact the police station leaders to report important situations. This is an old man in his sixties. He speaks like a duck, but his voice is loud. The sound quality is disturbing. As soon as he spoke outside, Li Baoshan and Ge Renxin could not speak inside. It was useless to say that, and they could only listen to him.

The person who received this old man was the police officer Lao Su.In the old society, even if you were not considered a bad policeman, you could not be kind to the people. Now it is different, and you have to talk to others with great patience. Old Su endured the other party's duck voice and finally understood. It turned out that when the old man went out the past two days, he always felt that someone seemed to be following him, and he suspected that someone was going to make a mistake in his plan, either to make money or to kill his life. Lao Su was shocked when he heard this, so he quickly asked the other party to sit down, handed him a glass of water, and asked him for his surname. The old man said that he would be exempted from the surname Gui, and his name is Yongxian. He originally lived in Taiping District. He just moved to No. 16, Dafu Lane nearby before the New Year, and his household registration has not been moved yet. Then let’s talk about the main topic. After all, there are people following them. As for whom, how many people are, and why they are considered to be following them, they can’t say anything.

Lao Su asked from a different perspective, Mr. Qian, what are you doing? Did you have any enemies before? Have you offended anyone? Qian Yongxian said that he was a native of Guangzhou, at the age of 62, and worked as a pawn shop. At the age of 16, he started as an apprentice and went to the first cabinet of the pawn shop (a senior clerk). Two years ago, I went home to work in an idle position and always stayed at my own heart. I was so timid that I was afraid of falling leaves and even smashing my head. I never offended anyone. I didn’t care about politics, let alone make friends with government officials or gangs, and even monks and Taoists did not deal with them. After Qian Yongxian finished speaking, he asked Lao Su: "Look at a small commoner like me, no one could not get along with me in the old society. Now that he is liberated, someone has been watching me! Comrade police, do you think this is strange?"

Qian Yongxian felt strange, and Lao Su, who received him, was also incredible. After thinking about it, he suspected that the visitor might have had a brain problem and a nerve short circuit, so he patiently induced him, hoping that after tactful guidance, he could return from the clouds and fog to the Qingming reality. Lao Su's intention was very good, but Mr. Qian refused to appreciate it. Seeing that the police did not believe what he reported, he became anxious. The more anxious the voice was, the higher the tone, and the duck's voice was buzzing the eardrums of the people inside and outside.

Li Baoshan thought that he could not continue to talk with Ge Renxin, so he stood up and said goodbye. Unexpectedly, Li Baoshan was destined to be lucky. He and Xiao Duan walked out of Ge Renxin's office and happened to meet Mr. Qian. He was stunned. At first glance, this old man looked exactly like the murdered Zhang Youju! He turned around and wanted to signal Xiao Duan to see if he felt the same way. Xiao Duan was staring at Qian Yongxian with his eyes wide open, his mouth wide open, as if he was holding a question mark.

Qian Yongxian saw Li Baoshan coming out of the office and thought he was the police station chief. He immediately left Lao Su and asked him, claiming that he was threatened. If the government did not care, it would definitely be either life or financial loss.

Li Baoshan later admitted that if it weren't for the fact that the other party looked like Zhang Youju, he would definitely be like Lao Su, and suspected that this person was mentally abnormal. However, because Qian Yongxian's face was similar to Zhang Youju, he became interested in this old man. He immediately gave Ge Renxin a wink, and his original intention was to let Lao Ge first come forward to stabilize the other party in the name of the police station leader. As for who he is, there is no need to introduce him. Whether the other party thinks it is the director or the deputy director, he will make mistakes and talk to him first. However, Ge Renxin understood the wrong meaning and did not say that he was the instructor of the police station. Instead, he pointed at Li Baoshan and said that this was Captain Li of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Branch and was coming to inspect the grassroots public security work. When Qian Yongxian heard this, he was overjoyed and pestered Li Baoshan to report the situation and repeated the words he had already said to Lao Su.

However, Li Baoshan did not only listen to the other party’s statements like Lao Su, but instead listened to inspire and guided him. In this way, what the other party said seemed a bit reliable. For example, Qian Yongxian said that in the past five or six days, when he went out, whether he was walking, rickshaw or tricycle, someone rode a bicycle to surpass him. The bicycle was 60% to 70% new Japanese "Mount Fuji" brand. He also had a pawn shop he used to work for, so he could recognize it at a glance. As for the cyclist's appearance and height, he couldn't say it because the other party surpassed him from behind, so he had already gone to the front without having time to look closely. However, when he got ahead, he did not accelerate and moved at a speed similar to his. Since the other party did not get off the car, he didn't know how tall the other party was.Judging from the man's back and his movements in stomping on the car, he should be a man between a young and a middle-aged man.

Qian Yongxian also told the criminal police that during this period, he had gone to the theater to watch a Beijing drama. When he was resting between the curtain, he thought it was unreliable and decided to go home. He is a drama fan, and he is familiar with every big theater in Guangzhou, and he slips out through the back door. After going out, in order to confirm whether my decision was correct, I returned to the front of the theater and walked around the dozens of parked bicycles. Sure enough, I found a 60% to 70% new Japanese "Mount Fuji" brand bicycle! As for whether it was the one that the stalker rode before, it was hard to say. The car didn't have a license plate. I don't know if it was not registered at all, or if the owner deliberately removed the license plate.

The situation Qian Yongxian reported attracted the attention of the task force of the Municipal Bureau. That night, the criminal police in the entire group held a meeting to discuss the matter. Everyone has repeatedly seen photos of Qian Yongxian and Zhang Youju. Apart from the more they look, the more they feel that this man's appearance resembles Zhang Youju, there is no reason why Qian Yongxian is being followed. Qian Yongxian was innocent in history and had never participated in the party, government, military and police and reactionary sects of the Kuomintang and Japanese puppet regimes. He was honest and responsible, and peace was the most important thing when encountering problems. Qian has three children, all of whom have become independent, have a stable job, and have a harmonious family. In this way, the criminal police formed a consensus: Zhang Youju might have been killed by the murderer as Qian Yongxian. As for why the other party wanted to attack Qian Yongxian, it is necessary to continue to investigate.

At the time of discussion, Deputy Director Chen Kun came. After listening to the latest report on the case, he instructed to investigate in this direction and arranged for plainclothes detective to protect Qian Yongxian, which was also a way to investigate the stalker.

Starting from March 13, the criminal police of the Municipal Bureau’s special task force disguised himself as a disguised person to provide protection to Qian Yongxian. The police station came forward to communicate with the old man and told him that your reaction has attracted the attention of the government and the Public Security Bureau has taken measures. You can do whatever you want and go wherever you want to ensure you are safe and sound. In addition, security arrangements have been made for your old mansion, so there will be no problems.

The criminal police conducted a comprehensive monitoring of Qian Yongxian and his residence. In just one day, at around 9 o'clock that night, someone was riding the "Mount Fuji" bicycle near Qian's house. He circled two circles and left. The criminal policeman Cheng Chi disguised the driver and carried Li Baoshan to follow him on a tricycle, but failed because the speed of the manned tricycle was incomparable to that of a bicycle. The detectives naturally felt sorry and were a little worried about being discovered by the other party. However, this worry was unnecessary. After midnight, "Mount Fuji" appeared again near Qian Yongxian's residence, wandering around for a moment, and entering the alley next to it. The criminal police stole and flicked to the entrance of the alley. Taking advantage of the lights of the street shot into the other end, they saw that the guy had already leaned his bicycle against the courtyard wall on one side of Qianzhai, supported his pillow and was climbing up the car. Three detectives rushed over when he got on the bicycle and were climbing towards the wall. They rushed over with the car and people on the spot. They found a dagger on him and a gold watch on his wrist.

When escorted the city bureau for interrogation, the guy insisted that he wanted to steal money. It was not until the task force leader Tan Zude sent a detective to drive Zhang Youju's family, Xiaoyiyuan gardener Lao Wei, and cleaner Huang Ma to the city bureau. After identification, it was confirmed that the gold watch was Zhang Youju's object before and on the day of his life. The arrested person was a tall and thin man who had appeared at the scene before and on the same day. He explained the crime situation -

The criminal was named Qi Gaozhou, a native of Gujing Town, Xinhui County, Guangdong Province (now Xinhui District, Jiangmen City), who was 35 years old and his parents died prematurely. When he was a teenager, he became a monk for seven years and practiced Nanquan. At the age of seventeen, he joined the Guangdong Army Chen Jitang's army as a soldier. Because he was good at Sanda and was smart by nature, he was selected as Chen Jitang's special guard. The Special Guard actually does not undertake security services, but is only responsible for special missions such as assassination, kidnapping, explosion, and arson, which is equivalent to the later "Military Command" Operations Office. Therefore, Qi Gaozhou received the training of the operation agents.

In 1936, Chen Jitang contacted the Guangxi warlords Li Zongren and Bai Chongxi to launch the "June 1st Incident" under the banner of "anti-Chiang and anti-Japanese". After the failure, he fled to Europe. His special guards scattered, and Qi Gaozhou then worked as a hawker in Jiangmen. Soon, he got married and had children, and lived a poor but comfortable life. From 1936 to 1949, Qi Gaozhou went through two historical stages: the War of Resistance and the War of Liberation. Although he had special skills and could use it to make profits, he never took action, which may have something to do with no one coming to persuade him to come out. After the founding of New China, an uninvited guest changed his life trajectory.

This person's name is Zhu Yichun. He was the platoon leader of Qi Gaozhou when he was in Chen Jitang's special guard. He had prayed to Qi Gaozhou and later followed Chen Jitang overseas. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Chen Jitang returned to China to serve as a member of the National Government, but Zhu Yichun stayed in Hong Kong and became a son-in-law of the capitalist and started a business with his father-in-law. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Lao Zhu met Qi Gaozhou when he returned to Guangzhou to visit relatives and friends, and gave his brother a generous gift. More than two months after the liberation of Guangzhou, before New Year's Day in 1950, Lao Zhu came back again. This time he came to find Qi Gaozhou, and he asked his brother to do something for him - kill someone.

Zhu Yichun told Qi Gaozhou that the man he was going to kill was Qian Yongxian. He was an old man in his sixties. He was originally in a pawnshop and has now returned home to take care of his old age. Why kill him? Lao Zhu's close friend Lao Ma's father-in-law was a wealthy businessman in Nanyang. He moved to Hong Kong in his later years to live with his daughter. This wealthy businessman never married for life. The so-called daughter was recognized by Hong Kong in the early days of the War of Resistance Against Japan when Hong Kong had not yet fallen. However, the old Ma and his wife took good care of the wealthy businessman, and of course they also had the intention of coveting their property. Not long ago, an elderly man, who has always been healthy, was diagnosed with liver cancer. He was mentally broken in fear. The cancer was temporarily controlled but became a mentally ill.

According to the law, although the elderly have not yet died, they are mentally ill, so even if they make a will, it is invalid. Therefore, Lao Ma's wife only needs to prepare all the materials to prove that she is indeed the goddaughter of the old man, and she can inherit the inheritance after the old man dies. However, when the lawyer hired by Lao Ma was carrying out relevant preparations, he accidentally discovered that the old man had made a will before moving to Hong Kong, saying that he would give half of his property to his cousin Qian Yongxian, and the additional condition was that he would only give Qian Yongxian himself, and his family had no right to inherit it; the other half of his property was left to his goddaughter. The old Ma and his wife felt unacceptable to this unexpected situation, so they had the idea of killing Qian Yongxian to dominate their property.

Old Ma told Zhu Yichun about this matter. Although Zhu was willing to help, he was already a middle-aged fat man with a big belly. He was no longer capable of going to Guangzhou to kill Qian Yongxian in person, so he remembered his brother Qi Gaozhou. This time I came to Qi Gaozhou and said that Lao Ma was willing to pay 10 taels of gold for this job and pay a deposit of 3 taels first. Qi Gaozhou respected the affection of a righteous brother and was greedy for the ten taels of gold. Besides, this job was not difficult to do, so he agreed.

Zhu Yichun gave Qi Gaozhou a photo of Qian Yongxian. It was a single portrait cut and remade from a photo with Qian Yongxian when Lao Ma's father-in-law went to Guangzhou ten years ago. The address was not available, but it provided a clue: Qian Yongxian is a veteran of the pawn shop and is quite good at identifying antiques, so he often went to the Guangzhou Antique Industry Guild to communicate with a group of antique enthusiasts. Zhu Yichun asked Qi Gaozhou to wait at the Antiques Industry Guild, and he would definitely be able to stay there.

Qi Gaozhou met Zhang Youju, who looked very similar to Qian Yongxing. Zhang Youju is a well-known antique player in Guangzhou. He also likes to visit the Antiques Guild and chat with those experts. After recovering from the stroke, I went to the Antiques Industry Guild on the fifth day of the New Year when I received the God of Wealth Bodhisattva, I was invited to expose my lower body, and Qi Gaozhou was hit. Seeing that his appearance and age were the same as Zhu Yichun said, Qi Gaozhou secretly checked the photos repeatedly and finally determined that this person was the target, so he followed Zhang Youju's house. After that, I followed him for several days and found out the rules of his morning exercise at Xiaoyi Garden every morning, and started on February 27.

After the crime, Qi Gaozhou threw away the weapon and mingled in the crowd to watch the fun. However, he heard that the deceased's surname was Zhang and not Qian, and he was not engaged in the pawnshop. He knew that he had killed the wrong person. This guy is very brave and has the qualities of a professional killer. He immediately decided to start over and must kill the main person. A few days later, he went to the Antiques Guild to wait, and he hit Qian Yongxian. The same trick was repeated and he still followed his house. After that, he followed the target for several days and found that the activity of the target was irregular, so he had to enter the room for assassination at night, but unexpectedly he was taken down by the criminal police.

On June 9, 1950, Qi Gaozhou was sentenced to death by the Guangzhou Military Control Commission and executed by firing a firing force.
