【STN (Super Twisted Nematic) Screen】, also known as the super-twisted nematic LCD display screen. A color filter is added to a traditional monochrome liquid crystal display, and each pixel in the monochrome display matrix is ​​divided into three pixels. STN screens are reflective LCDs, which have a low power consumption but poor clarity in darker environments.

[TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is a thin film field effect transistor] , which is one of the active matrix liquid crystal displays. It can "actively" control individual pixels on the screen, which can greatly improve the reaction time. Generally, the reaction time of TFT is relatively fast, about 80 milliseconds, and the viewing angle is large, generally reaching about 130 degrees, and is mainly used in high-end products. The so-called thin-film field effect transistor means that each liquid crystal pixel point on a liquid crystal display is driven by a thin-film transistor integrated thereafter.

[TFD (Thin Film Diode) screen] , also known as thin film diode semi-transparent liquid crystal display. TFD technology was developed by Seiko and Epson and is specially used on mobile phone screens. It is a tradeoff between TFT and STN, better brightness and color saturation than STN, and also saves power than TFT.The biggest feature is that it can provide high image quality and easy-to-see display regardless of whether it is turned off (reflection mode) or turned on (transmission mode), and has the advantages of low power consumption, high image quality, and high reaction speed.

[UFB LCD] is a new LCD display device for mobile phones released by Samsung in March 2002, with ultra-thin and high brightness. UFB-LCD is a display specially designed for mobile phones and PDAs. It has ultra-thin and high brightness features, displaying 65536 colors and reaching a resolution of 128x160. The display also uses a special grating design that reduces pixel spacing for better image quality. The contrast ratio of UFB LCD screen is twice that of STN LCD screen. Its brightness is comparable to that of TFT screen in 65536 colors, and its power consumption is less than that of TFT screen, and its price is similar to that of STN screen. It can be said that it combines the advantages of these two existing products in one.

【OLED (Organic Light Emitting Display)】 is an organic light-emitting display. It is a new product on mobile phone LCDs and is known as a "dream display". OLED display technology is different from traditional LCD display methods. It does not require a backlight and uses a very thin organic material coating and glass substrate. When an electric current passes through

, these organic materials will emit light. Moreover, the OLED display screen can be made lighter and thinner, with a larger viewing angle, and can significantly save power consumption. Currently, among the two major OLED technology systems, low-molecular OLED technology is mastered by Japan, while polymer PLED (the so-called OEL of LG mobile phones is the product of this system) is mastered by British technology company CDT. Compared with the two, there are still some difficulties in colorizing the PLED products.

【ASV (Advanced Super View)】 technology is another breakthrough in SHARP in LCD panel production technology. This technology is mainly used in LCD displays positioned in SHARP’s high-end market. This technology mainly improves the viewing angle of the LCD screen, the reaction time of the LCD particles, the color contrast and screen brightness of the LCD screen. Compared with the same screen area, screens that use ASV technology can have an essential improvement in parameters and effects compared to ordinary LCD displays that do not use ASV technology. For example, the T1520, T1620, T1820 and other series models are obviously advantageous in terms of parameters and effects compared with those of the same screen size level on the market.

Summary:

STN was the main device of early color screens. It could only display 256 colors at first. Although it could display 4096 colors or even 65536 colors after technical transformation, the general STN is still 256 colors now. The advantages are: low price and low energy consumption.

TFT has good brightness, high contrast, strong sense of layering, and bright colors. The disadvantage is that it consumes more electricity and has a higher cost.

UFB is a display specially designed for mobile phones and PDAs. Its characteristics are: ultra-thin and high brightness. 65536 colors can be displayed, and the resolution can reach a resolution of 128×160. The UFB display adopts a special grating design, which can reduce pixel spacing and achieve better picture quality. UFB combines the advantages of STN and TFT: it consumes less power than TFT, and the price is similar to STN.

The so-called thin-film field effect transistor means that each liquid crystal pixel point on a liquid crystal display is driven by a thin-film transistor integrated thereafter.

[TFD (Thin Film Diode) screen] , also known as thin film diode semi-transparent liquid crystal display. TFD technology was developed by Seiko and Epson and is specially used on mobile phone screens. It is a tradeoff between TFT and STN, better brightness and color saturation than STN, and also saves power than TFT.The biggest feature is that it can provide high image quality and easy-to-see display regardless of whether it is turned off (reflection mode) or turned on (transmission mode), and has the advantages of low power consumption, high image quality, and high reaction speed.

[UFB LCD] is a new LCD display device for mobile phones released by Samsung in March 2002, with ultra-thin and high brightness. UFB-LCD is a display specially designed for mobile phones and PDAs. It has ultra-thin and high brightness features, displaying 65536 colors and reaching a resolution of 128x160. The display also uses a special grating design that reduces pixel spacing for better image quality. The contrast ratio of UFB LCD screen is twice that of STN LCD screen. UFB combines the advantages of STN and TFT: it consumes less power than TFT, and the price is similar to STN.
