[Kuiji Mountain Longhua Temple] consists of Maitreya Temple and Baolin Peak founded by the former Eastern Jin Dynasty eminent monk Zhidun. Keqiao Foraging 4: Pingshui Town
Pingshui Town is located at the northern foot of Huiji Mountain in Shaoxing. It has beautiful natural scenery, beautiful ecological environment and profound cultural heritage. [Yunmen Temple] is one of the local landscapes.
Yunmen Zen Temple is located in a long and narrow valley at the foot of Qinwang Mountain in Silitou Village, Pingshui Town, 15 kilometers south of Shaoxing. It has a history of more than 1,700 years and is a thousand-year-old ancient temple. Yunmen Temple is not big. Its predecessor was Wang Xianzhi's old residence. Currently, you can see Wang Xianzhi's statue at the entrance of the temple. The whole temple is built close to the mountain. It is in Pingjiang Village. The air in the village is fresh. After visiting Yunmen Temple, it is also good to visit the village.
And [ Pingyang Temple ] with a history of more than 300 years is located at the foot of Hualu Mountain, the source of Ruoye River in Pingshui Town. The locals call it the "Chenless Temple" because the beams, rafters and every corner of the temple are always as clean as ever. When you walk into the temple, you will see many monks in the temple. They are very friendly and always answer some of our questions with a smile, which makes people feel peaceful. I also got to know the dog named "Lianci" in the temple, who is also very friendly and cute.
When you come to Pingshui Town, how can you not have a "Luyou Banquet"? Pingshui is an important node on the road of Tang poetry in eastern Zhejiang. There are about 1,500 ancient poems related to Pingshui. The famous patriotic poet of the Southern Song Dynasty Lu You As a food lover, he often goes to Pingshui's Yunmen Temple, Ruoye River, etc. He stayed in Pingshui for a short time and left nearly a hundred poems in Pingshui. In the [Pingshui Encounter Ecological Park] in Pingshui Town, there is a table called "Pingshui Lu You's Poetry Banquet", where all the dishes are named after Lu You's poems. For example, "Seeing Fish Leaping in Linjian" refers to the big fish head of Xiaoshunjiang River, and the ingredients are fish from Xiaoshunjiang River; "Oh Oh Lost Dan Chicken" refers to Zhuyuan Chicken from Pingshui Mountain; "Tairan Meat is Not Fat" refers to Pingshui's famous local chicken. The fifth stop for food in Keqiao: Wangtan Shunwang Temple
The sixth stop for food in Keqiao: Wangtan Shunwang Temple. [Wangtan Shunwang Temple] is located on the shore of Xiaoshun River, Shuangjiang Creek, Wangtan Town, Keqiao District, Shaoxing, surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery.I chose to come here because it happened to be the day (October 30th) when I met the annual [Wang Tan Shun King Temple Fair]. The Wang Tan Shun King Temple Fair is a comprehensive folk activity. In addition to the temple fair cultural performances, there are also various special snacks, shoes and clothes, kitchen supplies, daily necessities, etc. for sale. The scene is crowded. All kinds of shouts, cries and voices add up one after another, making it very lively.
Foraging in Keqiao 6: Shicang Mountain·Yin
The last stop of the Keqiao trip was the [Millennium Torreya Forest Scenic Area], which is characterized by the continuous torreya forest. There are 113 ancient torreya trees in the Millennium Torreya Forest Scenic Area, including more than 23,000 century-old torreya trees. The oldest torreya tree is 1,300 years old and requires five adults to hold it, so it is called the "Chinese torreya king".
Torreya trees are hundreds or even thousands of years old, but they are still evergreen all year round and bear fruit every year. The torreya tree grows in the Kuaiji Mountains at an altitude of 600 to 800 meters. The special climate and geographical conditions make this thousand-year-old fruit tree rich in very high nutritional value and health care effects: torreya seeds are very high in fatty acids and vitamin E, so they are often eaten It can moisturize the skin and delay aging.
Torreya seeds have a brown hard shell and light yellow plump kernels. They are shaped like almonds. They taste very crisp when eaten, with a faint strange aroma, a bit like pine nuts. They are quite delicious. .
For lunch, we chose [Shicangshan·Yin], which is about 15 minutes away from [Millennium Torreya Forest Scenic Area]. Located in Jidong Town, Pingshui, Keqiao District, [Shicangshan·Yin] integrates food and B&B.
