Overseas Network July 11th July 11 is World Population Day , The United Nations released the "World Population Prospects 2022" report on that day. This report predicts that India will become the most populous country in the world in 2023, and the population is expected to exceed 1.6 billion in 2050.
According to the report, the world's population will reach 8 billion in mid-November 2022. At the same time, the world's population growth rate is slowing down. In 2020, the population growth rate will fall below 1% for the first time since 1950. The world's population is expected to reach 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050.
In 2022, the most populous regions in the world are concentrated in East Asia and Southeast Asia, with a population of 2.3 billion, accounting for 29% of the global population, while Central Asia and South Asia account for 26% of the global population. The report also said that the areas with the largest population growth in 2050 will be concentrated in Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia, such as India, Egypt, Philippines and other countries.
