On April 20, sponsored by the Qingdao Municipal Education Bureau, Qingdao Municipal Sports Bureau and Qingdao Municipal Sports Federation, the 2019 Qingdao "Whale Shark Cup" Youth Interschool Baseball and Softball Spring League opening ceremony kicked off at Tiantai Stadium screen.

This event is the first municipal-level competition in the history of baseball and softball in Qingdao. The three consecutive "Whale Shark Cup" baseball and softball events have provided a powerful competition platform to increase the popularity and development of baseball and softball fashion sports in Qingdao and improve the competitive level of participating players.
Since 2016, "Qingdao Whale Shark Baseball and Softball Club" has been committed to the popularization and competition of Qingdao baseball and softball sports. It currently has thousands of registered players including class teams, school teams, club teams and Qingdao city teams. He has won the third place in the club category of the "National Youth Baseball Championship" in 2018, the eighth place in the "National Youth Baseball and Softball Open" in 2018 twice, and has won more than 30 provincial championships at various levels.
