Raising soft-shell turtles: four-season management of soft-shell turtle breeding
"In the early stage of breeding, we first put the juvenile soft-shell turtles in the greenhouse to overwinter, and then put them into large ponds after the Qingming Festival of the following year to grow in the natural environment and feed fresh bait, soft-shell turtles grow It will take about 4-5 years," Yu Rong said while showing off the soft-shelled turtle in his hand. Yu Rong introduced that today, turtle farming has not only improved product quality and competitiveness, but also provided entrepreneurial and employment opportunities for surrounding poor households, increasing personal income. In terms of employment and technical guidance, priority is also given to poor households and interested planting and breeding households to boost poverty alleviation. After years of development, the Tiandiyuan Aquaculture Base currently has a breeding area of 230 acres, with an annual output of 100 tons of soft-shell turtles, 1 million turtle seedlings, and annual sales revenue of more than 10 million yuan.
Rural revitalization and industrial prosperity are the key.
