The "Taichung Diamond", the corporate headquarters of Taichung Commercial Bank, designed by Aedas Chairman and Global Design Director Keith Griffiths, is located in Taichung City Business Center. It is a 200-meter-high building. The project consists of Taichung Commercial Bank headquarters office space and a luxury hotel. The project design concept is based on the "中" character of Taichung Commercial Bank. The design avoids stacking all large program areas in a single tower, instead creating two "detached" towers with a vertical space in between to connect them and accommodate large facilities. The design places a series of "floating" transparent glass boxes in the space between the two towers to accommodate various business functions such as exhibition areas, sky gardens, conference facilities, banquet halls and swimming pools. This unique design not only gives the building a richer form, but also creates a striking architectural landmark for the area along the main road. The rooftop terrace houses a restaurant and VIP club, together with an outdoor green terrace, providing visitors with excellent balcony space and stunning city views. The project also won the 2018 MIPIM "Architecture Review" magazine Future Project Award in France earlier this year, defeating hundreds of entries from all over the world and winning the high-rise building award .
