In December 2021 alone, more than 500 Thais who were deceived into working illegally in Cambodia were rescued.
Thai authorities have been coordinating with Cambodian officials to rescue Thai workers who were defrauded, the assistant chief of Thailand's national police said on Thursday.

Many people were forced to work in Phusa, Koh Kong, Sihanoukville and Poipet in Cambodia.
He went on to say that the companies, almost all Chinese-owned, were upset by the actions taken by Cambodian law enforcement, who released Thai workers and dumped them outside hotels and restaurants.
He said that 502 people had been brought back from Cambodia. There are about 1,000 Thais who are forced to stay there and they all need help.
He warned job seekers not to be deceived by jobs in Cambodia with a monthly salary of 20,000 to 30,000 baht. These are all scams.
These people usually post on facebook to recruit people. Many Thais are attracted by the high salary and come to Cambodia. Only after arriving do they find out that they have been cheated.
What they are going to do is not a decent office clerk or administrative job, but a fraud.
On November 19, the Cambodian-Thailand Joint Task Force rescued 99 Thai workers who were lured and forced to work illegally in Phnom Penh by a Chinese gang.
Cambodian authorities, Thai police and Thai embassy officials launched a rescue operation.
Officials surrounded the building, which was guarded by nearly 50 Chinese. Officials captured nearly 40 of them and rescued all Thais from the building.
Thai police said that from January to the end of November last year, 361 suspected human trafficking victims had been brought back from Cambodia. Adding 502 people in December, the number of rescued people had risen to nearly 900.
