Some stadiums and arenas become run-down after only a few decades, while others remain relevant and loved a century after they were built - with the help of occasional renovations. Fans of the Cubs and Knicks love Wrigley Field and Madison Square Garden respectively, just as much as their teams.

Vivid Seats used data from stadiums, arenas, leagues and news websites to identify the oldest major sports venues in each state that have at least one top professional league team. Major sports are defined as all teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLS and NWSL - professional league teams that play at a total of 145 venues. The average age of these venues is 22.4 years, with only 20 from 1990 or earlier.

NBA arenas appear most frequently on this list, with 9 of the 28 venues hosting men's basketball teams. Major League Baseball ranked second with eight; NHL and WNBA venues each had six; NFL had five; NWSL had four; and MLS stadiums appeared three times.

Venues were selected based on initial opening dates. Renovations are not considered unless the original structure is demolished.

Arizona: Footprint Center Footprint Center
