It is recommended that parents arrange as early as possible for young children at home to receive the Moderna vaccine first. Zhuang Renxiang, spokesman for the
command center, said that the Moderna vaccine for children aged 6 months to 5 years old is expected to complete sealing inspection on the 20th of this month and be distributed to counties and cities on the 21st. According to the Taiwan authorities’ Health and Welfare Department Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Advisory Committee, vaccination The ACIP recommended that each person need to be vaccinated with 2 basic doses, and reminded counties, municipalities, and the public to plan vaccinations in advance.
As for the Pfizer BNT vaccine for children under 4 years old, it has not yet obtained emergency authorization (EUA) from Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration. The command center recently stated that it is submitting supplementary documents for review, and the purchase contract is also being negotiated. Zhuang Renxiang pointed out that the relevant documents are expected to be sent out on the 12th, and other parts are still being discussed. Since the arrival time of the Pfizer BNT vaccine has not yet been determined, parents are urged to arrange for their young children to receive the Moderna vaccine as a priority as soon as possible.
